  • Exchange Server Address Resolving to Random String

    I am running Exchange 2013 on Windows Server 2012 R2. When I add my exchange account to Outlook, it seems to work perfectly (sending/receiving email, syncing everything), but when I open the account settings it has the following set as the Server: [email protected] I would have expects this to be: mail.domain.com since this is the DNS A record pointing to the IP of my server. Where is it getting this server name?

  • Better way to quad+ boot operating systems?

    I currently have Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.04, Fedora 17, and open SUSE installed. I currently use BURG boot loader to load up all the systems. However, BURG does not work with windows(I still manage) and it is a little finicky. So, I want to make windows work and have all the other OSes I want all on one boot loader. I already tried easy BCD and for whatever reason Fedora took over and blocked out the other OSes.

    I use the following directive in sshd_config to detect if the user trying to login to a server is called developer, and issue a bash script to the user if that is the case: Match User developer ForceCommand /bin/dev_login However, when the user tries to upload a file using SCP, they can't, as the dev_login script is interrupting the process. Is it possible to use the Match directive to detect if the connection is SCP rather than a request to open a shell?

    Since Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 is no longer compatible with Windows 7, I'm in need of an alternative. I'm not interested in Acronis Disk Director Suite workarounds, particularly not an application as dangerous as a partition manager. I don't want to mess it up my partitions due to incompatibality.     Hi guys, This is a bit of a silly question, how do I run Thunderbird 3 which I downloaded? Well, I can get it to run by executing the 'thunderbird' shell script file. However that creates a terminal windows aswell and will close Thunderbird if it is closed. How do I get it to open without the terminal? Thanks. Edit: I am running Ubuntu 9.10.

    I am using Centos5 running on a VMWare but whenever I choose to open the User Manager menu from System-Administration, an error message always displays The user database cannot be read. This problem is most likely caused by a mismatch between etc/passwd and /etc/shadow or /etc/group and /etc/gshadow/. The program will now exit. I am a Linux novice and have no idea how to fix this tiny issue. ANy help is thankful. Thank you.

  • BIOS says 8GB RAM installed but only 6GB is available

    my machine is a Dell Studio XPS 9100 with 8GB of RAM installed. When I open the BIOS setup and enter the System Info, it shows that my machine got 8GB of RAM installed but only 6GB is available (yes this is from the BIOS only). In Windows 7 (64bit Pro) it shows only 6GB of RAM are available. But if I run CPU-Z then it can detect all 8GB RAM. The machine came pre-configured and I have never opened the case before.

  • Why would you use IPv6 internally?

    Of course, I realize the need to go to IPv6 out on the open Internet since we are running out of addresses, but I really don't understand why there is any need to use it on an internal network. I have done zero with IPv6, so I also wonder: Won't modern firewalls do NAT between internal IPv4 addresses, and external IPv6 addresses? I was just wondering since I have seen so many people struggling with IPv6 questions here, and wonder why bother?

Yousendit offers a service like what I am looking for, but it does not make sense to use their service if I already have a web server.     I recently attempted to reconfigure an existing single-instance Postfix server (multi-homed) to support multiple MTA instances, but failed miserably (read: open relay, nastygram from ISP). It appears that there are several methods that can be used to accomplish this, and the various (and numerous) secondary sources that I found online were 'all over the map' with respect to which they used/glued together. Can anyone provide a working configuration (or tips) that use postmulti to manage a multi-instance Postfix setup?

    I'm using 8.0.552.224 Chrome. Sometime, over the holidays, my bookmarklets nearly completely disappeared. The bookmarklets are present in the default screen that shows when I open a new tab. However, when I navigate away from that tab (browse further), the bookmarklets bar (usually appearing below the address field) is gone. Can anybody tell me why the bookmarklets are no longer persisteent and how to get them back

    Per the title, Skype won't open, throws an APPCRASH error code #C0000005. I have already tried: Checking the "compatibility" setting Removing the appdata/roaming/skype folder (it doesn't exist anyway) Installing versions 5.3.113, 5.3.116, 5.3.120 Checking audio and video drivers for most recent updates Uninstalling with "advanced" registry checking using Revo Uninstaller Anyone got some gems of experience to throw my way? (Unfortunately, it's someone else's computer, and they don't know the last thing they did before it stopped working...)

  • Solaris 10 very slow ssh file transfers

    Trying to copy a few TBs betweek Solaris 10 u9 systems A single scp only seems to be able to transfer around 120MB/min, over a 1GB network. If I run multiple scp copies, each one will do 120MB/min, so it is not the network as far as I can see. Any hints on how to tweak the Solaris settings to open a bigger pipe. Have the same problem with another piece of software that unfortunately does not seem to be able to be split into separate processes.

  • Install Visual Studio 2010 on SSD drive, or HDD for better performance?

    I'm going to be installing Visual Studio 2010. I already have my source code on the SSD. For best performance, especially time to open the solution and compiling time, would it be better to install VS 2010 on the SSD or install it on the HDD. If both were on the SSD, loading the VS 2010 files would be quicker, but there would be contention between loading the source and the program files. Thanks!

  • Oracle - The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client

    Often whilst I'm working on local code on my local IIS install, I would get the following error: At which point I open up IIS, recycle the application pool, and restart the website, and then all is fine ... until an hour, or 20 minutes, or 40 seconds and then it is back again. What can be causing this issue? Why does restarting and recycling IIS fix it? It is getting rather annoying and I'd like a fix please :(
