  Hi I am using two different databases for my project. Oracle and apache derby and trying to use as much as possible ansi sql syntax supported by both of the databases. I have a table with column amount_paid NUMERIC(26,2), in a table. My old code which was using oracle db need to retrieve value in this format SELECT LTRIM(TO_CHAR(amount_paid,'9,999,999,999,999.99')) . How can i do this using ANSI sql syntax.

  I find that most of my work involves creating shims so that different systems can communicate with each other. Is there any software solutions that handle this. I don't want to make my own. For example if we received a message like { a: 'abc', b: 1 } from System1, we might want to send { a: f('abc'), c: 'System1'} to System2. Know of anything like that?

  Im trying make a login page for my rails application that looks like "www.domain.com" and when you login you still are still located at the domain "www.domain.com". Is there a way that I can map 2 different actions to the same url using routes. Twitter does it this way, you log in at twitter.com and after you are logged in you are still located at twitter.com.   Hello, I have a relatively large Conceptual Data Model in PowerDesigner. After generating a Physical Data Model and seeing the DBMS data types, I need to update all of data types(NUMBER/TEXT) for each data item. I'd like to either do a find/replace within the Conceptual Data Model or somehow map to different data types when creating the Physical Data Model. Ex. Change the auto conversion of Text - Clob, to Text - NVARCHAR(20). Thanks!

• PHP curl post to login to wordpress

  I am using php curl to login to wordpress behind-the-scenes as described here: Wordpress autologin using CURL or fsockopen in PHP However my script is not setting the cookies necessary to retain the wordpress session. Instead they are being sent back to my script and stored in cookies.txt. Both the curl script and the wordpress login are on the same server in different directories. Do I need to write another curl script to manually set the wordpress cookies? Is that possible?

  Hi, i'm developing an app which download map tiles around different places in a city. To do this, i have one thread for each place in which i select the tiles and create a thread to download each. Well, the question is how to avoid creating a thread for a tile that already exists in the thread pool. Should not just check if the file exists, since it is possible that the thread for that tile already exists (other place already need that tile) but the file has not been created- Any idea? Thanks

  I've performed the "Replace Method with Method Object" refactoring described by Beck. Now, I have a class with a "run()" method and a bunch of member functions that decompose the computation into smaller units. How do I test those member functions? My first idea is that my unit tests be basically copies of the "run()" method (with different initializations), but with assertions between each call to the member functions to check the state of the computation. (I'm using Python and the unittest module.)

Cons The login feature depends on the machine key which mean that I need to make sure that the machine key is the same on all the servers in the farm. The cookie contains wired encrypted values that don't really make sense to store in the cookie.

• Why does my Sharepoint page's custom content type change to "Page" when editing?

  I have a custom Sharepoint 2007 site definition with custom content types for the different page layouts. When editing a page using a custom layout from the main "View all contents" tree view, the page content type is fine, but if I view the page directly and edit it from there, the content type gets stripped and replaced with "Page." I can change it back by viewing and editing it from the main list, but not from its subsite home location.
