  Hi all, I was trying out a simple JSF application, in which I need to check if the "name" field is blank, then display an error message. The code which takes the field's value is: <h:outputLabel value="Name"></h:outputLabel> <h:inputText value="#{greeting.name}" required = "true"> <f:validator validatorId="NumValidator"></f:validator> </h:inputText> The control of the program does not go into the validator class, if the field is submitted without entering anything, and it displays the default error message: j_id_jsp_869892673_1:j_id_jsp_869892673_4: Validation Error: Value is required. How do i display a custom message for this ?

• Can't get a LiveFolder to launch my activity like it should

  I was able to create a ContentProvider for a LiveFolder, but I can't seem to be able to create my intents correctly, so it always gives "Application is not installed on your phone" errors when clicking on items inside the folder. My Activity is defined like so, in the manifest: <activity android:name=".MyActivity"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" /> </intent-filter> </activity> Then, I create the intents I place in the LiveFolders.INTENT column like this: i = new Intent(); i.setAction(null); i.setClassName("my.package.here", ".MyActivity"); I don't get why this is not working. Maybe I'm making some stupid mistake, but please point me in the right direction.

Like this however, I end up with a WEB-INF/lib containing the subdirectories from my patterns: WEB-INF/lib/external/castor-1.1.jar WEB-INF/lib/external/... Is there any way to flatten this, so the JAR files appear top-level under WEB-INF/lib, regardless of the directories specified in the patterns? I looked at mapper but it seems you cannot use them inside lib.

  This command and output: % find . -name file.xml 2> /dev/null ./a/d/file.xml % So this command and output: % dirname `find . -name file.xml 2> /dev/null` ./a/d % So you would expect that this command: % cd `dirname `find . -name file.xml 2> /dev/null`` Would change the current directory to ./a/d. Strangely this does not work. When I type cd ./a/d. The directory change works. However I cannot find out why the above does not work...

  I am using qunit and jquery. Latest version of both. In my code when I submit the form I have the event as e. I call e.serializeArray() Here is my test. equals(args.data, [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "john" } ], 'input data'); And this is the error message from qunit. expected: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] result: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] As you can see to the naked eye the expected and result value is same but qunit is not liking it. I guess I am missing something.

  I'd like to do something like this: SELECT table.id AS prefix_id, table.name AS prefix_name ... and have the prefix added dynamically to all field names rather than selecting them all manually (ie SELECT table.* AS prefix_* or something) Hopefully I've described that accurately. Any thoughts? Edit To be clear, the reason I'm asking is to make sure that my query result contains every column from each table I call even if there are duplicate field names. For example, I might have a table with lots of fields which means I don't want to alias all the fields manually. Further if 3 tables have a field called name my result won't contain three name results; it will have one. I want to avoid ambiguity with my column names.

  In Java, you can make an enum having multiples values. In objective-C, this cannot be done easily. I've read many pages about this but I didn't found anything satisfying that would allow me to use enums by a simple way and to keep the enum declaration and their different values in the same file. • Nav drop down with rounded corner troubles...

  Hi I have worked on the following nav drop down seen here http://charmcitykids.missionmedia.net/. It works and is almost complete, but I have one issue. When you mouseover a nav title the text goes from color to black and then shows the dropdown. That is how it should work, but when you move your mouse to go a nav title within the dropdown the black text(active image) goes back to color and doesnt remain black. Any suggestion when dropdown is active and user is navigating through such to keep the text(active image) black? thnx jonah

  Hi I have an li element that will have something along the lines of this for a declaration <li class="module ui-helper-fix"> And I can dynamically change the color of the module by adding on classes (That are provided dynamically through DB calls) the end result being <li class="module ui-helper-fix module-green"> or <li class="module ui-helper-fix module-default"> Well I am fine with changing the color by adding on a new module-WHATEVER class but what I would like to do is remove any class that matches module-XXXX so it starts with a clean slate and then add on the class module-crimson. So how do I remove all classes that match module-xxx first ? Keeping in mind I don't want to remove the base module class. Thanks. -Seth

  Hi, I'm new to flash in general and have been writing a program with two classes that extend MovieClip (Stems and Star). I need to create a new Stems object as a child of the scene when the user stops dragging a Star object, but do not know how to reference the scene from within the Star class's code. I've tried passing the scene into the constructor of the Star and doing sometihng like: this.scene.addChild (new Stems ()); But apparently that's not how to do it... • Menu Control in Master Page fails to use CSS styles

  I'm working on a web application that uses ASP.NET 3.5 and C#. Structurally, I have a master page with a menu control on it. The control serves as my navigation, and it gets its items from a SiteMapDataSource control and a corresponding Web.sitemap file. The problem is that some styles do not render properly when you specify the CssClass property. More specifically, the selected and hover styles don't respond to css styles. Odd. Does anybody have any insight into what is causing this problem and how to neatly work around it? I'm aware I might be able to programmically determine the current page and select the corresponding menu item manually so it receives the proper style class, but before I resort to hacking C# and Javascript together to fix this functionality, I'm open to ideas.

• Specifying distinct sequence per table in Hibernate on subclasses

  Is there a way to specify distinct sequences for each table in Hibernate, if the ID is defined on a mapped superclass? All entities in our application extend a superclass called DataObject like this: @MappedSuperclass public abstract class DataObject implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE) @Column(name = "id") private int id; } @Entity @Table(name = "entity_a") public class EntityA extends DataObject { ... } @Entity @Table(name = "entity_b") public class EntityB extends DataObject { ... } This causes all entities to use a shared sequence, the default hibernate_sequence. What I would like to do is use a separate sequence for each entity, for example entity_a_sequence and entity_b_sequence in the example above. If the ID were specified on the subclasses then I could use the @SequenceGenerator annotation to specify a sequence for each entity, but in this case the ID is on the superclass. Given that ID is in the superclass, is there a way I can use a separate sequence for each entity — and if so, how? (We are using PostgreSQL 8.3, in case that's relevant)

• Why does my jQuery animation require an extra click in IE8 to finish?

  I am pretty new to jQuery in general, however the following code works perfectly in Chrome and Firefox, but not in IE8. In IE8, I have to click anywhere on the page to start the animation after selecting a radio button. • SQL Server join and wildcards

  I want to get the results of a left join between two tables, with both having a column of the same name, the column on which I join. The following query is seen as valid by the import/export wizard in SQL Server, but it always gives an error. I have some more conditions, so the size wouldn't be too much. We're using SQL Server 2000 iirc and since we're using an externally developed program to interact with the database (except for some information we can't retrieve that way), we can not simply change the column name. SELECT table1.*, table2.* FROM table1 LEFT JOIN table2 ON table1.samename = table2.samename At least, I think the column name is the problem, or am I doing something else wrong?

  I'm wanting to rename some websites in IIS for organization purposes. I assume that the name is just meta data and won't cause any errors or problems but I'm not sure. Is there anything that relies on the website name to be unchanged? SSL certs maybe? I know each site has an id in the meta base and I assume that is all that's needed to identify the site programmaticly.

  I signed up for github and notice the ssh key option which looked interesting. I originally expected something like an ssl key (name, co name, etc). After going through it i notice i only put a password and it is always myuser@comp-name (this is windows). Why? I thought it was a user/pass id and i can create separate keys for separate purpose for privacy reasons. Now i see i am required to use one to create a repository. Also i see something about a 'private key file' when looking at options. What exactly is an SSH Key and how can i create a separate user without creating a separate login in windows.

  hey guys, just having a bit of difficulty with a query, i'm trying to figure out how to show the most popular naturopath that has been visited in a centre. My tables look as follows; Patient(patientId, name, gender, DoB, address, state,postcode, homePhone, businessPhone, maritalStatus, occupation, duration,unit, race, registrationDate , GPNo, NaturopathNo) and Naturopath (NaturopathNo, name, contactNo, officeStartTime, officeEndTime, emailAddress) now to query this i've come up with SELECT count(*), naturopathno FROM dbf10.patient WHERE naturopathno != 'NULL' GROUP BY naturopathno; which results in; COUNT(*) NATUROPATH 2 NP5 1 NP6 3 NP2 1 NP1 2 NP3 1 NP7 2 NP8 My question is, how would I go about selecting the highest count from this list, and printing that value with the naturopaths name?   If I am serializing and later deserializing a class using DataContractSerializer how can I control the initial values of properties that were not serialized? Consider the Person class below. Its data contract is set to serialize the FirstName and LastName properties but not the IsNew property. I want IsNew to initialize to TRUE whether a new Person is being instantiate as a new instance or being deserialized from a file. This is easy to do through the constructor, but as I understand it DataContractSerializer does not call the constructor as they could require parameters.   How do I accumulate values in t-SQL? AFAIK there is no ARRAY type. I want to reuse the values like demonstrated in this PostgreSQL example using array_agg().
