  • Unity doesn't work

    - by Budda
Yesterday I've implemented the code: CustomerProductManager productsManager = container.Resolve<CustomerProductManager>(); It was compilable and working. Today (probably I've modified something I am constantly getting the error: The non-generic method 'Microsoft.Practices.Unity.IUnityContainer.Resolve(System.Type, string, params Microsoft.Practices.Unity.ResolverOverride[])' cannot be used with type arguments My collegue has the same source code and doesn't have same error. Why? How to resolve the problem? P.S. line "using Microsoft.Practices.Unity;" is present in usings section. I've tried to replace generic version with non-generic one: CustomerProductManager productsManager = (CustomerProductManager)container.Resolve(typeof(CustomerProductManager)); And got another error: No overload for method 'Resolve' takes '1' arguments It seems like one of the assemblies is not referenced.. but which one? I have 2 of them referenced: 1. Microsoft.Practices.Unity.dll 2. Microsoft.Practices.ServiceLocation.dll P.P.S. I've saw similar problem http://unity.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=8205 but it is resolved as "not a bug" Any thought will be helpful

  • Self-reference entity in Hibernate

    - by Marco
    Hi guys, I have an Action entity, that can have other Action objects as child in a bidirectional one-to-many relationship. The problem is that Hibernate outputs the following exception: "Repeated column in mapping for collection: DbAction.childs column: actionId" Below the code of the mapping: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mapping PUBLIC "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Mapping DTD 3.0//EN" "http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-mapping> <class name="DbAction" table="actions"> <id name="actionId" type="short" /> <property not-null="true" name="value" type="string" /> <set name="childs" table="action_action" cascade="all-delete-orphan"> <key column="actionId" /> <many-to-many column="actionId" unique="true" class="DbAction" /> </set> <join table="action_action" inverse="true" optional="false"> <key column="actionId" /> <many-to-one name="parentAction" column="actionId" not-null="true" class="DbAction" /> </join> </class> </hibernate-mapping>

  • Understanding ServiceKnownType in WCF

    - by SLC
I am having a little trouble understanding ServiceKnownType in WCF. Taken from this blog, the following code does not work: [DataContract(Namespace = “http://mycompany.com/”)] public class Shape{…} [DataContract(Namespace = “http://mycompany.com/”)] public class Circle : Shape {…} [ServiceContract] public interface IMyServer { [OperationContract] bool AddShape(Shape shape); } . IMyServer client = new ChannelFactory<IMyServer>(binding, endPoint).CreateChannel(); client.AddShape(new Circle()); The reason it doesn't work is because you are trying to add a circle, but the servicecontract only allows a Shape. You are supposed to do something with knowntypes, but I am a bit confused about how that works. Since that code is in the service, why doesn't it know automatically that a Circle is derived from Shape? Additionally, what does ServiceKnownType actually do? When ServiceKnownType is put below the DataContract, apparently that makes it work. I am guessing it says hey, this particular object type called Shape can also be a Circle. I am having trouble understanding why it would do it this way around, because if you add a new type like Square you are going to have to add that too, wouldn't it make sense if it cannot infer it, to put the KnownType onto the Square rather than the Shape? So the Square says hey, I am a Shape, and you don't have to fiddle with the Shape class?

  • Python ImportError when executing 'import.py', but not when executing 'python import.py'

    - by Martin Del Vecchio
I am running Cygwin Python version 2.5.2. I have a three-line source file, called import.py: #!/usr/bin/python import xml.etree.ElementTree as ET print "Success!" When I execute "python import.py", it works: C:\Temp>python import.py Success! When I run the python interpreter and type the commands, it works: C:\Temp>python Python 2.5.2 (r252:60911, Dec 2 2008, 09:26:14) [GCC 3.4.4 (cygming special, gdc 0.12, using dmd 0.125)] on cygwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> #!/usr/bin/python ... import xml.etree.ElementTree as ET >>> print "Success!" Success! >>> But when I execute "import.py', it does not work: C:\Temp>which python /usr/bin/python C:\Temp>import.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Temp\import.py", line 2, in ? import xml.etree.ElementTree as ET ImportError: No module named etree.ElementTree When I remove the first line (#!/usr/bin/python), I get the same error. I need that line in there, though, for when this script runs on Linux. And it works fine on Linux. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • JQGrid: Dropdown for selecting items from a foreign table - DataValueField vs DataTextField

    - by Herb Caudill
Suppose Items and ItemTypes have numeric primary keys ItemID and ItemTypeID. Each Item is assigned an ItemType. I have a JQGrid to edit Items. When not in edit mode, I would like to see the name of the ItemType, not the ItemTypeID: TYPE | TITLE -----------+-------------------- Category A | Item 1 Category A | Item 2 Category B | Item 3 Category B | Item 4 In edit mode, I want to see a dropdown that displays the ItemType text, but that returns the ItemTypeID to the server. Here's what I have so far (using the ASP.NET wrapper for JQGrid): <trirand:jqgrid id="Grid1" runat="server" ... > <columns> <trirand:jqgridcolumn datafield="ItemID" editable="false" visible="false" width="50" primarykey="true" /> <trirand:jqgridcolumn datafield="ItemTypeID" editable="true" edittype="DropDown" editorcontrolid="ItemTypes" /> <trirand:jqgridcolumn datafield="Title" editable="true" sortable="true" /> ... </columns> </trirand:jqgrid> <asp:sqldatasource runat="server" id="ItemTypesDatasource" connectionstring="<%$ ConnectionStrings:Main %>" selectcommand="Select ItemTypeID,Title from ItemTypes order by Title" /> <asp:dropdownlist runat="server" id="ItemTypes" datasourceid="ItemTypesDatasource" datavaluefield="ItemTypeID" datatextfield="Title" /> The problem is that when not in edit mode, it displays the numeric ItemTypeID, rather than the text labels: TYPE | TITLE -----------+-------------------- 100123 | Item 1 100123 | Item 2 100124 | Item 3 100124 | Item 4 Is there any way to have JQGrid respect the distinction between DataValueField and DataTextField? (Either using the jQuery API or the ASP.NET plugin.)

  • WPF Databound RadioButton ListBox

    - by Mark
I am having problems getting a databound radiobutton listbox in WPF to respond to user input and reflect changes to the data it's bound to (i.e., to making changes in the code). The user input side works fine (i.e., I can select a radiobutton and the list behaves as expected). But every attempt to change the selection in code fails. Silently (i.e., no exception). Here's the relevant section of the XAML (I think): <Setter Property="ItemContainerStyle"> <Setter.Value> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}" > <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Border Name="theBorder" Background="Transparent"> <RadioButton Focusable="False" IsHitTestVisible="False" IsChecked="{Binding Path=IsSelected, RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}, Mode=TwoWay}" > <ContentPresenter /> </RadioButton> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </Setter.Value> I bind the listbox to a List of SchoolInfo objects. SchoolInfo contains a property called IsSelected: public bool IsSelected { get { return isSelected; } set { if( value != isSelected ) { isSelected = value; this.OnPropertyChanged("IsSelected"); } } } The OnPropertyChanged() stuff was something I put in during my experimentation. It doesn't solve the problem. Things like the following fail: ((SchoolInfo) lbxSchool.Items[1]).IsSelected = true; lbxSchool.SelectedIndex = 1; They fail silently -- no exception is thrown, but the UI doesn't show the item being selected. • Using two versions of the same assembly (system.web.mvc) at the same time

    - by Joel Abrahamsson
I'm using a content management system whose admin interface uses MVC 1.0. I would like to build the public parts of the site using MVC 2. If I just reference System.Web.Mvc version 2 in my project the admin mode doesn't work as the reference to System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage created by the views in the admin interface is ambiguous: The type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage' is ambiguous: it could come from assembly 'C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Mvc\2.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Mvc.dll' or from assembly 'C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Mvc\1.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Mvc.dll'. Please specify the assembly explicitly in the type name. I could easily work around this by using binding redirects to specify that MVC 2 should always be used. Unfortunately the content management systems admin mode isn't compatible with MVC 2. I'm not exactly sure why, but I start getting a bunch of null reference exceptions in some of it's actions when I try it and the developers of the CMS have confirmed that it isn't compatible with MVC 2 (yet). The admin interface which is accessed through domain.com/admin is not physically located in webroot/admin but in the program files folder on the server and domain.com/admin is instead routed there using a virtual path provider. Therefor, putting a separate web.config file in the admin folder to specify a different version of System.Web.Mvc for that part of the site isn't an option as that won't fly when using shared hosting. Can anyone see any solution to this problem? Perhaps it's possible to specify that for some assemblies a different version of a referenced assembly should be used?

  • Wpf binding to a function

    - by carlopenid
I've a created a simple scrollviewer (pnlDayScroller) and want to have a separate horizontal scrollbar (associated scroller) to do the horizontal scrolling. All works with the below code accept I need to bind the visibility of the associated scroller. I can't simply bind this to the visibility property of the horizontal template part of the scroll viewer as I've set this to be always hidden. The only way I can think to do this is to bind the visibility of the associated scroller to a function such that If associatedScroller.scrollableWidth > 0 then associatedScroller.visibility = visibility.visible else associatedScroller.visibility = visibility.collapsed end if Is this possible to do and if so how do I do it? Private Sub pnlDayScroller_Loaded(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs) Handles pnlDayScroller.Loaded Dim binViewport, binMax, binMin, binSChange, binLChange As Binding Dim horizontalScrollBar As Primitives.ScrollBar = CType(pnlDayScroller.Template.FindName("PART_HorizontalScrollBar", pnlDayScroller), Primitives.ScrollBar) binViewport = New Binding("ViewportSize") binViewport.Mode = BindingMode.OneWay binViewport.Source = horizontalScrollBar associatedScroller.SetBinding(Primitives.ScrollBar.ViewportSizeProperty, binViewport) binMax = New Binding("Maximum") binMax.Mode = BindingMode.OneWay binMax.Source = horizontalScrollBar associatedScroller.SetBinding(Primitives.ScrollBar.MaximumProperty, binMax) binMin = New Binding("Minimum") binMin.Mode = BindingMode.OneWay binMin.Source = horizontalScrollBar associatedScroller.SetBinding(Primitives.ScrollBar.MinimumProperty, binMin) binSChange = New Binding("SmallChange") binSChange.Mode = BindingMode.OneWay binSChange.Source = horizontalScrollBar associatedScroller.SetBinding(Primitives.ScrollBar.SmallChangeProperty, binSChange) binLChange = New Binding("LargeChange") binLChange.Mode = BindingMode.OneWay binLChange.Source = horizontalScrollBar associatedScroller.SetBinding(Primitives.ScrollBar.LargeChangeProperty, binLChange) End Sub Private Sub associatedScroller_Scroll(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.RoutedPropertyChangedEventArgs(Of Double)) Handles associatedScroller.ValueChanged pnlDayScroller.ScrollToHorizontalOffset(e.NewValue) end sub FOLLOW UP (thanks to JustABill) : I've add this code into the pnlDayScroller sub above (I've discovered scrollableWidth is a property of scrollviewer not scrollbar, but the maximum property gives a result I can use instead) binVisibility = New Binding("Maximum") binVisibility.Mode = BindingMode.OneWay binVisibility.Source = horizontalScrollBar binVisibility.Converter = New ScrollableConverter associatedScroller.SetBinding(Primitives.ScrollBar.VisibilityProperty, binVisibility) and I've created this class Public Class ScrollableConverter Implements IValueConverter Public Function Convert(ByVal value As Object, ByVal targetType As Type, ByVal parameter As Object, ByVal culture As System.Globalization.CultureInfo) As Object Implements IValueConverter.Convert Dim dblMaximum As Double If targetType IsNot GetType(Visibility) Then Throw New InvalidOperationException("The target must be a visibility") Else dblMaximum = CType(value, Double) Debug.WriteLine("Value of double is " & dblMaximum) If dblMaximum > 0 Then Return Visibility.Visible Else Return Visibility.Collapsed End If End If End Function Public Function ConvertBack(ByVal value As Object, ByVal targetType As Type, ByVal parameter As Object, ByVal culture As System.Globalization.CultureInfo) As Object Implements IValueConverter.ConvertBack Throw New NotSupportedException() End Function End Class And the problem is resolved.

  • How do I validate a RadioButton on MVC?

    - by user54197
    I am using a client side validation and it is starting to get messy, considering I am making a form. With all the textbox and radio button validations, the controller will be overwhelmed. How do I validate and display the error Message for Radio Buttons and multiple textboxes in MVC on the MODEL side? A simplified version of what I have. MODEL... public class ModelData { public string ContactName { get; set; } public string ContactAddress { get; set; } public string ContactPhone { get; set; } public string RadioPoliceFire { get; set; } public string RadioComplaint { get; set; } //The following is a Failure :( public string RadioType { if (RadioType == null) {return "Type Required";} return null; } //End Failure } CONTROLLER... [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Info(ModelData InfoData) { if (infoData.RadioType == null) {ModelState.AddModelError("RadioType", "Type Required");} try { ... return RedirectToAction("Confirmation"); catch {ModelState.AddModelError("RadioComplaint", "Error");} }

  • HTML 5 Video OnEnded Event not Firing

    - by Eric J.
I'm trying to react to the HTML 5 onended event for the video tag without success. In the code snippet below I added the mouseleave event to be sure the jQuery code is correct and that event does activate the alert() box. The video plays just fine but onended does not cause my alert() to fire off. Testing in Chrome, updated today to version 5.0.375.55. <html> <head> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#myVideoTag").bind('mouseleave onended', function(){ alert("All done, function!"); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <video id="myVideoTag" width="640" height="360" poster="Fractal-zoom-1-04-Snowflake.jpg" controls> <source src="Fractal-zoom-1-04-Snowflake.mp4" type="video/mp4"></source> <source src="Fractal-zoom-1-04-Snowflake.ogg" type="video/ogg"></source> </video> <body> <html>

  • OO Design - polymorphism - how to design for handing streams of different file types

    - by Kache4
I've little experience with advanced OO practices, and I want to design this properly as an exercise. I'm thinking of implementing the following, and I'm asking if I'm going about this the right way. I have a class PImage that holds the raw data and some information I need for an image file. Its header is currently something like this: #include <boost/filesytem.hpp> #include <vector> namespace fs = boost::filesystem; class PImage { public: PImage(const fs::path& path, const unsigned char* buffer, int bufferLen); const vector<char> data() const { return data_; } const char* rawData() const { return &data_[0]; } /*** other assorted accessors ***/ private: fs::path path_; int width_; int height_; int filesize_; vector<char> data_; } I want to fill the width_ and height_ by looking through the file's header. The trivial/inelegant solution would be to have a lot of messy control flow that identifies the type of image file (.gif, .jpg, .png, etc) and then parse the header accordingly. Instead of using vector<char> data_, I was thinking of having PImage use a class, RawImageStream data_ that inherits from vector<char>. Each type of file I plan to support would then inherit from RawImageStream, e.g. RawGifStream, RawPngStream. Each RawXYZStream would encapsulate the respective header-parsing functions, and PImage would only have to do something like height_ = data_.getHeight();. Am I thinking this through correctly? How would I create the proper RawImageStream subclass for data_ to be in the PImage ctor? Is this where I could use an object factory? Anything I'm forgetting?

  • Problem with ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript in WebControl nested in UpdatePanel

    - by Chris
Hello, I am having what I believe should be a fairly simple problem, but for the life of me I cannot see my problem. The problem is related to ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript, something I have used many times before. The scenario I have is that I have a custom web control that has been inserted into a page. The control (and one or two others) are nested inside an UpdatePanel. They are inserted onto the page onto a PlaceHolder: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="pnlAjax" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:PlaceHolder ID="placeholder" runat="server"> </asp:PlaceHolder> ... protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e){ placeholder.Controls.Add(Factory.CreateControl()); base.OnInit(e); } This is the only update panel on the page. The control requires some initial javascript be run for it to work correctly. The control calls: ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this, GetType(), Guid.NewGuid().ToString(), script, true); and I have also tried: ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(Page, Page.GetType(), Guid.NewGuid().ToString(), script, true); The problem is that the script runs correctly when the page is first displayed, but does not re-run after a partial postback. I have tried the following: Calling RegisterStartupScript from CreateChildControls Calling RegisterStartupScript from OnLoad / OnPreRender Using different combinations of parameters for the first two parameters (in the example above the Control is Page and Type is GetType(), but I have tried using the control itself, etc). I have tried using persistent and new ids (not that I believe this should have a major impact either way). I have used a few breakpoints and so have verified that the Register line is being called correctly. The only thing I have not tried is using the UpdatePanel itself as the Control and Type, as I do not believe the control should be aware of the update panel (and in any case there does not seem to be a good way of getting the update panel?). Can anyone see what I might be doing wrong in the above? Thanks :)

  • jQuery $.ajax Not Working in IE8 but it works on FireFox & Chrome

    - by Sam3k
    I have the following ajax call which works perfectly in Firefox and Chrome but not IE: function getAJAXdates( startDate, numberOfNights, opts ) { var month = startDate.getMonth() + 1; var day = startDate.getDate(); var year = startDate.getFullYear(); var d = new Date(); var randNum = Math.floor(Math.random()*100000000); $.ajax({ type : "GET", dataType : "json", url : "/availability/ajax/bookings?rand="+randNum, cache : false, data : 'month='+month+'&day='+day+'&year='+year+'&nights='+numberOfNights, contentType : 'application/json; charset=utf8', success : function(data) { console.log('@data: '+data); insertCellData(data, opts, startDate); }, error:function(xhr, status, errorThrown) { console.log('@Error: '+errorThrown); console.log('@Status: '+status); console.log('@Status Text: '+xhr.statusText); } }); } I know for a fact that all the variables are passing the right content and $.ajax is indeed passing all the paramater/values. This is what I get on error: LOG: @Error: undefined LOG: @Status: parsererror LOG: @Status Text: OK I'm aware of the cache issue on IE and implemented a random paramater to clear it up. Finally these are the headers that are sent back from the backend: header('Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf8'); header("Cache-Control: no-cache"); header("Expires: 0"); header('Access-Control-Max-Age: 3628800'); header('Access-Control-Allow-Methods: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE');

  • How to list column headers of a SQL Server table using sp_help perhaps?

    - by Hamish Grubijan
Hi, I have a few tables with 70-80 columns in them. I would like to populate them with somewhat random data, unless I will not be able to do so due to key violation, etc. The first step would be simply to get the list of all headers. There seem to be two ways: A) Run select * from table_of_interest; in MSFT SQL Server Management Studio 2008. Now, right-click the result and click "Copy With headers". However, I get zero rows back, and when I try to copy nothing + headers, I get: TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio ------------------------------ Value cannot be null. Parameter name: data (System.Windows.Forms) ------------------------------ BUTTONS: OK ------------------------------ This looks like a bug ... anyhow ... there is another way. B) I can run sp_help table_of_interest;. However, I end up getting too much back. I get 7 different tables back but I am only interested in the second one. The columns of the second table are: Column_name | Type | Computed | Length | Prec | Scale | Nullable | TrimTrailingBlanks | FixedLenNullInSource | Collation I might be interested in just a Column_name and Type, but maybe other columns. So ... since sp_help probably runs a bunch of queries ... how do I get under the hood? How can I run the second query AND filter down the number of columns that I am interested in? Many Thanks!

  • POST from edit/create partial views loaded into Twitter Bootstrap modal

    - by mare
I'm struggling with AJAX POST from the form that was loaded into Twitter Bootstrap modal dialog. Partial view form goes like this: @using (Html.BeginForm()) { // fields // ... // submit <input type="submit" value="@ButtonsRes.button_save" /> } Now this is being used in non AJAX editing with classic postbacks. Is it possible to use the same partial for AJAX functionality? Or should I abstract away the inputs into it's own partial view? Like this: @using (Ajax.BeginForm()) { @Html.Partial("~/Views/Shared/ImageEditInputs.cshtml") // but what to do with this one then? <input type="submit" value="@ButtonsRes.button_save" /> } I know how to load this into Bootstrap modal but few changes should be done on the fly: the buttons in Bootstrap modal should be placed in a special container (the modal footer), the AJAX POST should be done when clicking Save which would first, validate the form and keep the modal opened if not valid (display the errors of course) second, post and close the modal if everything went fine in the view that opened the modal, display some feedback information at the top that save was succesful. I'm mostly struggling where to put what JS code. So far I have this within the List view, which wires up the modals: $(document).ready(function () { $('.openModalDialog').click(function (event) { event.preventDefault(); var url = $(this).attr('href'); $.get(url, function (data) { $('#modalContent').html(data); $('#modal').modal('show'); }); }); }); The above code, however, doesn't take into the account the special Bootstrap modal content placeholder (header, content, footer). Is it possible to achieve what I want without having multiple partial views with the same inputs but different @using and without having to do hacks with moving the Submit button around?

  • VS2008 -> VS2010 leads to cryptic STL errors

    - by Jakobud
The following C++ library was successfully compiled in VS2008 http://sourceforge.net/projects/xmlrpcc4win/files/xmlrpcc4win/XmlRpcC4Win1.0.8.zip/download When I open it in VS2010, it goes through the conversion wizard process without any errors. Now, when I attempt to compile it in VS2010, I get some weird STL errors like these: 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1018): error C2039: 'back_insert_iterator' : is not a member of 'std' 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1018): error C2065: 'back_insert_iterator' : undeclared identifier 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1018): error C2275: 'XmlRpcValue::BinaryData' : illegal use of this type as an expression 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1018): error C2065: 'ins' : undeclared identifier 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1018): error C2039: 'back_inserter' : is not a member of 'std' 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1018): error C3861: 'back_inserter': identifier not found 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1019): error C2065: 'ins' : undeclared identifier 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1031): error C2039: 'back_insert_iterator' : is not a member of 'std' 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1031): error C2065: 'back_insert_iterator' : undeclared identifier 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1031): error C2275: 'std::vector<_Ty>' : illegal use of this type as an expression 1> with 1> [ 1> _Ty=char 1> ] 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1031): error C2065: 'ins' : undeclared identifier 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1031): error C2039: 'back_inserter' : is not a member of 'std' 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1031): error C3861: 'back_inserter': identifier not found 1>TimXmlRpc.cpp(1032): error C2065: 'ins' : undeclared identifier I'm not sure what to make of some of these. For instance, back_insert_iterator is in fact a member of std, but VS doesn't seem to think it is. How do I fix errors like these? They just don't seem to make much sense so I'm not sure where to begin. Perhaps its something in my project settings? For example, here is line 1018, which gives the std error: std::back_insert_iterator<BinaryData> ins = std::back_inserter(*(u.asBinary)); If anyone could give me some direction I'd appreciate it. I'm new enough to C++ that I'm having a tough time figuring out this one.

  • NHibernate.MappingException (no persister for) weirdness

    - by Berryl
The weird part being that I have other tests that validate the mapping and even the method being called (Nhib session.SaveOrUpdate) that run just fine. The entire exception is below. Here is some debug output from a test that does work: Item type: Domain.Model.Projects.Project item: 007-00-056 ATM Machine Replacement Is transient: True Id: 0 NHibernate: INSERT INTO Projects (Code, Description) VALUES (@p0, @p1); select insert_rowid();@p0 = '007-00-056', @p1 = 'ATM Machine Replacement' Here is the same debug output before the exception: Item type: Smack.ConstructionAdmin.Domain.Model.Projects.Project item: 006-00-023 Refinish Casino Chairs Is transient: True Id: 0 The two tests are different in that the one that works is just testing the repository, and saving in memory test data. The failing one is saving data that has been converted from a legacy db (which has it's own session). The repository is also a replacement design for a different IProjectRepsitory that worked fine doing this, so the new repository is also a likely suspect here. Does anyone see what I'm missing or have some questions to narrow it down? • Android, sending XML via HTTP POST (SOAP)

  • [WPF] ComboBox.Text not taking the ItemStringFormat property into account

    - by Thomas Levesque
    I just noticed a strange behavior which looks like a bug. Consider the following XAML : <Page xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:sys="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib"> <Page.Resources> <x:Array x:Key="data" Type="{x:Type sys:String}"> <sys:String>Foo</sys:String> <sys:String>Bar</sys:String> <sys:String>Baz</sys:String> </x:Array> </Page.Resources> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical"> <Button>Boo</Button> <ComboBox Name="combo" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource data}}" ItemStringFormat="##{0}##" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Text, ElementName=combo}"/> </StackPanel> </Page> The ComboBox displays the values as "##Foo##", "##Bar##" and "##Baz##". But the TextBlock displays the selected values as "Foo", "Bar" and "Baz". So the ItemStringFormat is apparently ignored for the Text property... Is that a bug ? If it is, is there a workaround ? Or am I just doing something wrong ?

  • Android: Create spinner programmatically from array

    - by Select0r
Hi, I'm all new to Android and I'm trying to create a spinner programmatically and feeding it with data from an array, but Eclipse gives me a warning that I can't handle. Here's what I got: This ArrayList holds the elements that should be in the spinner (gets filled from a file later on): ArrayList<String> spinnerArray = new ArrayList<String>(); This is code I found on a site which should create the spinner: Spinner spinner = new Spinner(this); ArrayAdapter spinnerArrayAdapter = new ArrayAdapter(this, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item, spinnerArray); spinner.setAdapter(spinnerArrayAdapter); Now the second line (ArrayAdapter...) gives me a warning in Eclipse saying "ArrayAdapter is a raw type... References to generic type ArrayAdapter<T> should be parameterized", I have no idea how to fix this (or what that means in the first place :) ). It's just a warning and the App seems to run alright, but I'd still like to understand what's wrong and fix it. Any hint is appreciated. Greetings, Select0r

  • Weird - "The EntityReference object could not be serialized" when serializing from an ASP.NET Web Si

    - by Mikey Cee
I have an Entity Framework data model. Part of the model is a Customer entity. The web service provides a method to get a customer, and to receive an updated version of this customer to be persisted. To test this, I created a new ASP.NET web Application, (Solution Add New Project ASP.NET Web Application), then added a reference to my service reference using the standard Add Service Reference dialog. I then call the service using the following code: var client = new CustomerServiceClient(); var customer = client.GetCustomerByID(18); // get it customer.LimitDown = 100; // change it client.SaveCustomer(customer); // persist it Everything works as expected. Now, I do exactly the same thing, but this time with as ASP.NET Web Site (Solution Add New Web Site ASP.NET Web Site). I add the reference in a similar fashion and copy and paste the code above into the new site. But now I get the following exception thrown on the 4th line: System.InvalidOperationException The EntityReference object could not be serialized. This type of object cannot be serialized when the RelationshipManager belongs to an entity object that does not implement IEntityWithRelationships. Source Error: Line 2474: Line 2475: public SkyWalkerCustomerService.OperationResult SaveCustomer(SkyWalkerCustomerService.Customer customer) { Line 2476: return base.Channel.SaveCustomer(customer); Line 2477: } Line 2478: } Stack Trace: System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage retMsg) +9475203 System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(MessageData& msgData, Int32 type) +345 SkyWalkerCustomerService.ICustomerService.SaveCustomer(Customer customer) +0 SkyWalkerCustomerService.CustomerServiceClient.SaveCustomer(Customer customer) in c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30128\Temporary ASP.NET Files\testsite2\dd2bcf8d\f95604ff\App_WebReferences.fz4h7x7l.0.cs:2476 _Default.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\Users\Mike\Documents\Repositories\UWC\SkyWalker\TestSite2\Default.aspx.cs:17 System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) +14 System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) +35 System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +91 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +61 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1966 Googling for this error returns very little. • WPF RelativeSource FindAncestor doesn't work outside of the Control.Resources context?

    - by sker
    I have this VisualBrush resource I took from some site and I apply it with triggers to a TextBox. <VisualBrush x:Key="HelpBrush" TileMode="None" Opacity="0.4" Stretch="None" AlignmentX="Left"> <VisualBrush.Visual> <TextBlock FontStyle="Italic" Text="{Binding Path=Tag, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType={x:Type Control}, AncestorLevel=1}}"/> </VisualBrush.Visual> </VisualBrush> <Style x:Key="DefaultText" TargetType="TextBox"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Text" Value="{x:Null}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource HelpBrush}"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="Text" Value=""> <Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource HelpBrush}"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> If I place both the VisualBrush and the Style inside the TextBox.Resources tag in XAML, it works fine. But if I take it out and place it in the Window.Resources or a merged dictionary, it stops working. The problem is the Binding, it doesn't find the ancestor TextBox for some reason. I already tried removing AncestorLevel and using AncestorType={x:Type TextBox} - it doesn't work. Any ideas?
