    I have multiple menues on my page... <div class="menu"> <div>Menu header</div> <div>Menu content</div>// should hide on click outside .menu </div> <div class="menu"> <div>Menu header</div> <div>Menu content</div>// should hide on click outside .menu </div> basically i need all the menu(s) to hide when a click is detected unless someone is clicking any of the menues it should hide any other menu(s) apart from the menu they clicked on. I have seen a few that work but only if you have one menu on the page which is not exactly useful using stopPropagation as it may cancel any other necessary instructions; any ideas would be appriciated.

  • Chrome extensions: Content script (jQuery) in Youtube does not work properly

    I have this: $(document).ready(function() { $("button.yt-uix-expander-arrow").attr("id", "yt-uix-expander-arrow"); $("#yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover(function() { alert("Hello"); }); }); injected into Youtube. Using right click inspect element, the <button class="yt-uix-expander-arrow"> has a id="yt-uix-expander-arrow" attribute successfully added to it. However the mouseover event does not trigger. However if I were to change $("#yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover() to $(".yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover() it works. That's very unusual, because the #yt-uix-expander-arrow id has already been added to the button element. I tested it out on Facebook, adding a id to a class and doing a mouseover() event on the ID and it works. Any idea?

  • Rails "Load more..." instead of pagination.

    I have a list of elements, and I've been using will_paginate up until now, but I'd like to have something like "load more..." at the bottom of the list. Is there an easy way to accomplish this using will_paginate or do I need to resort to some other method here? From what I know this is a better route anyhow because then I don't need a SQL count of the records. And it really doesn't matter if there are like 9,847 pages, nobody would need the records beyond the first couple pages anyhow.

Question: Does anyone understand why the %7Bcommon (google-maps) file is being delayed from download until the jquery-ui.min file completes download first?

  • Javascript - how to change elements content inside a page when using iframes, using dom, not jquery

    Hello all, I have this iframe and as u can see it call a js function with the onload trigger. <iframe name="top" id="top" width="99%" height="20%" src="top.htm" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" onload="log_in()"></iframe> What i need to do is to effect the element inside "top.htm" (change innerHTML and stuff like that) from that function. But the problem is that the funnction does not recognize the elements of the "top.htm" page, only the ones in index.htm (the page with the iframes). p.s. i have to use DOM and i have to use iframes. Any one knows how to do that? 10x :-)

When I drag an element over the dialog that is over a droppable <td, then elements drops inside it even if it is still being dragged over the dialog.   • Hosting Javascript/CSS file on CDN similar to Google hosting jQuery

    Hello, I am wondering if there are any hosts or if I can host my file (JS & CSS) on Google so that they are cached and load real quick (due to CDN and gzip). A number of my customers use these files and I would prefer if they could somehow include this to file to receive the JS file. Ideally with filename.js?publickey=sdfgsdfg (which will be tied to a particular domain name). The problem is that my hosting needs are very small- only about 100kb. Any suggestions. My problem is that the customers using the JS & CSS file, have no clue about gzipping content or caching (as their shared hosts do not support it), as a result causes the JS/CSS to take forever to load. Am wondering if I can leverage an existing free service, or I do not mind paying either. Thank you for your time.

  • (Oracle) How get total number of results when using a pagination query?

    I am using Oracle 10g and the following paradigm to get a page of 15 results as a time (so that when the user is looking at page 2 of a search result, they see records 16-30). select * from ( select rownum rnum, a.* from (my_query) a where rownum <= 30 ) where rnum > 15; Right now I'm having to run a separate SQL statement to do a "select count" on "my_query" in order to get the total number of results for my_query (so that I can show it to the user and use it to figure out total number of pages, etc). Is there any way to get the total number of results without doing this via a second query, i.e. by getting it from above query? I've tried adding "max(rownum)", but it doesn't seem to work (I get an error [ORA-01747] that seems to indicate it doesnt like me having the keyword rownum in the group by). My rationale for wanting to get this from the original query rather than doing it in a separate SQL statement is that "my_query" is an expensive query so I'd rather not run it twice (once to get the count, and once to get the page of data) if I dont have to; but whatever solution I can come up with to get the number of results from within a single query (and at the same time get the page of data I need) should not add much if any additional overhead, if possible. Please advise. Here is exactly what I'm trying to do for which I receive an ORA-01747 error because I believe it doesnt like me having ROWNUM in the group by. Note, If there is another solution that doesnt use max(ROWNUM), but something else, that is perfectly fine too. This solution was my first thought as to what might work.     In Javascript code, I would like to programmatically cause the browser to follow a link that's on my page. Simple case: <a id="foo" href="mailto:[email protected]">something</a> function goToBar() { $('#foo').trigger('follow'); } This is hypothetical as it doesn't actually work. And no, triggering click doesn't do it. I am aware of window.location and window.open but these differ from native link-following in some ways that matter to me: a) in the presence of a <base /> element, and b) in the case of mailto URLs. The latter in particular is significant. In Firefox at least, calling window.location.href = "mailto:[email protected]" causes the window's unload handlers to fire, whereas simply clicking a mailto link does not, as far as I can tell. I'm looking for a way to trigger the browser's default handling of links, from Javascript code. Does such a mechanism exist? Toolkit-specific answers also welcome (especially for Gecko).
