• listing the functions of a web service

  hi, I wanted to make an application that will take either the path of the dll or Webservice and list me all the functions present in that dll. I accomplished the listing of the function using this but I am not able to list the functions of the Webservices. Using Assembly.GetMembers() it's listing the Function Name with the Parameters Type and I am not able to get the Parameters Name. How shall i get that? While debugging I found that m_parameters is a nonpublic member and i'm not able to get the Parameter name. Is that possible??? And one more question is how shall i list the functions available in the web service without including the web reference or service reference in the windows application using C#.

• Reloading Rails Directories: Not Lib!

  I have checked out several questions on this, including all of those you see next to the question. Unfortunately, I'm not working with a plugin, and I don't want to work in lib. I have a directory called File.join(Rails.root, 'classes') and I'd like the classes in this directory to reload automatically in dev. In my environment.rb I have this line config.load_paths << File.join(Rails.root, 'classes') which works fine and blows up if the path isn't there. The reloading line in my development.rb also works fine require_dependency File.join(Rails.root, 'classes', 'blah.rb') which blows up if the file is not there (a good sign). However, the file doesn't reload. This all works if the file is in the root of lib and I use the require_dependency line, but my whole point is to get stuff out of lib as suggested here.

  I need to write a process controller module on Linux that handles tasks, which are each made up of multiple executables. The input to the controller is an XML file that contains the path to each executable and list of command line parameters to be passed to each. I need to implement the following functionality: Start each executable as an independent Be able to kill any of the created processes independent of the others In order to do (2), I think I need to capture the pid when I create a process, to issue a system kill command. I tried to get access to pid in Java but saw no easy way to do it. All my other logic (putting info about the tasks in DB, etc) is done in Java so I'd like to stick with that, but if there are solutions you can suggest in C, C++, or Python I'd appreciate those, too.

• Rubygame on OS X shebang problem

  I'm playing around with Rubygame. I installed it with the Mac Pack, and now I have the rsdl executable. rsdl game.rb works fine, but when I chmod +x the rb file, add the shebang to rsdl (tried direct path and /usr/bin/env rsdl) and try to execute it (./game.rb), it starts to flicker between the Terminal and rsdl which is trying to open, and eventually gives up and gives a bus error. Anyone know what's causing that? I'm on Snow Leopard (10.6.2) if it makes a difference. Thanks.

  I would like to calculate the "size on disk" of a file in Python. Therefore I would like to determine the cluster size of the file system where the file is stored. How do I determine the cluster size in Python? Or another built-in method that calculates the "size on disk" will also work. I looked at os.path.getsize but it returns the file size in bytes, not taking the FS's block size into consideration. I am hoping that this can be done in an OS independent way...

• Why is django.test.client.Client not keeping me logged in.

  I'm using django.test.client.Client to test whether some text shows up when a user is logged in. However, I the Client object doesn't seem to be keeping me logged in.   We have an Intranet website, and a WPF windows executable installed on every workstation. How can we create a hyperlink on the intranet website that will launch the locally installed executable? Ideally we want the launch to be seamless. Is there a way of setting the browsers trust settings so that it won't display a security warning dialog for this executable? We have full admin capabilities on each workstation, and each user only uses Internet Explorer. We also know the correct local path for the exe.

• Help System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager find a type in a non-referenced assembly

  I'm trying to write a plug-in system where assemblies can be dropped in a folder that ASP.NET has no knowledge about. This plug-in system works fine for ASP.NET MVC based assemblies, but for old-school WebForm assemblies (where the .aspx files Inherits the System.Web.UI.Page derived classes) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager is responsible for compiling the .aspx file into a dynamic assembly. My problem is that the BuildManager knows nothing about the assemblies within my plug-in folder and it seems to be absolutely nothing I can do to help it. If I do: BuildManager.GetType("Type.Defined.In.Plugin.Assembly", true, true) it throws. If I first get a reference to the Type and then try: var instance = BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(path, type); it still throws, even though I've now passed in the specific type it needs to compile the .aspx file. Is there anything I can do to help BuildManager find the types it needs to compile the .aspx file?

TCP/IP?? Question: If a form action target = "http://this-full-URL.com/postdata" (for example) and that URL is also on the same server, then which happens first? A) Data is sent "out onto the web", and then returns to the same server, or B) Before sending any (possibly sensitive) data, the server (Linux, Apache, PHP), first "discovers" the target address is local, so (clearly) no data is sent over the net?   I am using Visual C++ 2005 to build a couple of libraries and an executable. I include the STLport location in the Additional Include Path of the libraries and include the library in the input to linker for executable. The library however seems to reffer to stl symbols (such as string) without the stl port namespace. • correct way to turn EAR module into OSGI bundle

  Greetings to all! There is a necessity to turn part of EAR (namely - war) into OSGI bundle and retain it's interoperability. Glassfish 3.0.1 already has osgi-web-container module and I succeeded to deploy standalone OSGI war. But in case of of ex-enterprise war it looks a bit difficult to me. What do I do with EJB calls from inside future OSGI war? Is it enough to replace @EJB injections with true JNDI lookups? What about APIs and libraries shared across EAR? I could split and rearrange them, but still I will have at least one jar needed by both EAR and OSGI war. Duplicate, make it as OSGI-bundle itself and make it available to ear somehow, place it GF domain's library path? Any other ideas, advices which could make that hybrid working? • Changing default image viewer in registry

  I want my application to change the program which should be launched if ie. a .jpg (in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT) is launched. The *.jpg and *.jpeg items in the registry references the jpegfile-class, but when I change the value of the default application to open the file, the old default is still launched, but not my program. (I set the value in jpegfile/shell/open/command/ to the path of my application.) In firefox, the right-click menu etc the choice of default viewer will show that my application should be launched, but it isn't.
