• Visual Studio 2012 not building dependent projects

  I just upgraded a VS2010 project to VS2012 and am now having a problem where dependent projects are not building on demand. For instance, say I have the following projects in my solution: Library A ConsoleApp 1 Where ConsoleApp 1 references Library A. If I change the signature of a method in a class in Library A and run ConsoleApp 1, there will be a compiler error due to ConsoleApp 1 not seeing my changes because running ConsoleApp 1 did NOT cause Library A to build. If I manually build Library A, then manually build ConsoleApp 1, it works fine. However, I would expect that running ConsoleApp 1 should cause any dependent projects to be rebuilt before launching. Could I have something configured incorrectly? Or is this a bug in VS2012?

• Preserving multi-byte characters in Flex XML object

  I'm having an issue with the Flex XML object type mangling multi-byte characters (such as Japanese or Chinese characters). The basic setup is this. I'm getting an XML-formatted string from the server, and in that string there can be multi-byte characters. A lot of the time, these characters are in attributes, for example: <example id="foo" name="[some multi-byte characters]"/> Now, when I examine the raw string, the multi-byte characters display just fine. However, as soon as I convert the string to an XML object using the top-level XML() function, all the multi-byte characters become mangled. I've tried setting the XML's encoding by including an <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> element in the XML-formatted string, but this doesn't seem to have any effect on the resulting XML object. Is there a way to get the XML object to respect the encoding of the XML-formatted string and prevent the multi-byte characters from being mangled?

• Problem in using svn and buildix

  Hi all I ran into a problem in using svn and buildix. I have a project created in svn as well as in cruise control which was working fine. Since yesterday whenever I commit changes into svn they are successfully commited but buildix is not able to pick up those changes, Normally I used to run 'svn update' whenever this problem occurs but now this is not helping for this project. When I try to run 'svn update', I get Skipped '.' and when I try to run 'svn cleanup', I get svn: '.' is not a working copy directory I took the advice of some one and deleted the folder .svn in my project but that did not help.   Hi, I have a asp.net application in order to start/stop applications and ports of Biztalk server 2006 r2. I have used "Microsoft.Biztalk.explorerom.dll (C:/Program Files/Biztalk Server 2006/Developer tool) " to achieve this. This is working fine on development machine since biz talk server is installed on local machine. But in the production environment (asp.net web server ,windows 2003 and iis 6.0)...this give System.nullreferenceexception (object reference not set..) at BtsCatalogExplorer explorer = (BtsCatalogExplorer)myGroup.CreateInstance(typeof(BtsCatalogExplorer)) my biztalk server and sql server are on two different box. In my setup (asp.net web application)..adding Microsoft.Biztalk.explorerom.dll and Microsoft.Biztalk.Applicationdeployment.engine.dll to GAC. But still no luck. Do i need to install biz talk server on my local machine even though I am connecting to different biz talk server?? And help is appreciated...

  I am building an ASP.NET server control which extends CompositeControl. I need fine grained control over the rendering, so I override Render() and output the child controls myself, interspersed with HTML generation code: writer.AddStyleAttribute("float", "left"); writer.RenderBeginTag(System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriterTag.Div); writer.RenderBeginTag(System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriterTag.Strong); writer.Write("Table"); writer.RenderEndTag(); // strong writer.WriteBreak(); tableList.RenderControl(writer); writer.RenderEndTag(); // div This works really well for user controls that just contain simple controls without children of their own. However, if I want to use something like a MultiView or an UpdatePanel I run into problems, since I can't override Render() on View or UpdatePanel without extending them, and if I do extend them the implementation would presumably have to depend on FindControl() voodoo to get references to the right controls during render. That doesn't sound like the right way to do this - is there a better way?

• Rebinding jQuery qtip tooltip on images in bxcarousel

  I'm using bxcarousel to show a bunch of images. Each image has a tooltip, which I display using qtip. • Can not clone git repo to server

  I'm running the same command on 2 different servers. One works, the other doesn't. I'm running git clone https://blah.com:8443/blah.git On server A, it works fine. I get the objects, files, etc. no problems. On server B, I get the following message. git clone https://blah.com:8443/blah.git Cloning into 'blah'... error: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates while accessing https://blah.com:8443/blah.git/info/refs?service=git-upload-pack fatal: HTTP request failed Does anyone know what this means or what I need to do to get this to work? • Groovy MarkupBuilder causing java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError on closure in soapUI

  I am not able to get the Groovy MarkupBuilder to work with soapUI. I am very new to Groovy and I am just following one of the user guides on creating XML. • ASP.Net MVC Toggling IsAjaxRequest property based on file upload?

  I have a form all setup to upload a file and that is working fine. However the way my form is submitted is through AJAX. The button that submits is still a type="submit" in case JS is off. When I save my form the controller determines whether the IsAjaxRequest is true and if so returns some JSON otherwise it does a RedirectToAction. When I don't specify a filepath in my input type="file" it considers IsAjaxRequest as true. If there is a filepath set then it thinks that IsAjaxRequest is false. How is it determining that? My other problem is that when it thinks IsAjaxRequest is false and does a RedirectToAction("Index") I don't actually get sent to the Index view. Thanks

  I've installed HAML into my project and it is working like a charm - the templates are beeing rendered without a problem. My question is how can I do the rendering on the command line, by using HAML program. • How to i disable the _moz_resizing?

  I am using nicEdit editor and i have added my own custom image resizing script to it. But i want to disable the default _moz_resizing that appears in firefox. I wanted to have finer control over the image being resized. ( Eg: Allow only the image to resize and inherit the width of the parent container. ) So i wrote a custom script. But since firefox has its own image resizing control (_moz_resizing) how do i disable it? If there is no way to do so, i have a very simple workaround where i browser detect firefox and turn off my custom script and use the _moz_resizing instead. But i won't have fine grained control and will have to rely on there being now browser bugs in firefox. :(

• image rendering issue

  I am running Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS). For some reason certain images, jpg, gif, or png will show up as byte code when accessed directly on the server. Firefox 3 and Safari both think the content type is text/html. IE I believe has something built in to recognize it is an image and ignore the content type and renders the image correctly regardless. I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue. An example of this can be found at http://www.thedacs.com/admin/gp/userfiles/image/gp28%5Fimg%5F01.jpg but the image below on same server the image is rendered correctly (use same path from above) Fig3mod.jpg The first image works fine in Photoshop CS, Illistrator, GIMP, Paint.net,and any other image editing software. I have tried everything when editing the images from trying multiple file formats to print screens and cropping to create a new image to lose old image meta data. Can anybody help?

• codeigniter site, swfobject not fully loading swf

  I am having a strange problem. I have a view that is supposed to load a swf. The swf was compiled with Flex and the mxml preloader displays but it loads a blank screen. When I path directly to the file it loads fully and works fine. • Junit vs TestNG

  At work we are currently still using Junit3 to run our tests. We have been considering switching over to Junit4 for new tests being written but I have been keeping an eye on TestNG for a while now. What experiences have you all had with either Junit4 or TestNG and which seems to work better for very large numbers of tests. Having flexibility in writing tests is also important to us since our functional tests cover a wide aspect and need to be written in a variety of ways to get results. Old tests will not be re-written as they do their job just fine. What I would like to see in new tests though is flexibility in the way the test can be written, natural assertions, grouping, and easily distributed test executions.

  Hi, We're experiencing a strange problem with Oracle RAC and McAfee anti-virus. As part of the installation of the Oracle RAC we disable anti virus as directed. We have had our RAC running fine, but when we came to re-enable the AV and reboot we got the BSOD. Abnormal Program Termination (BugCheck, STOP: 0x00000035 (0x8E984678, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS Following the standard process of raising this problem with Microsoft they identify the problem and also a fix. Microsoft talk about too many file filter drivers being present and pushing the DFS upper limit beyond the default size. Upping this value, as per msdn, has no impact. We're able to recover from this BSOD by disabling AV. We don't have the problem if we run the AV service manually whilst the system is up. However, if we make the service automatic we fail to boot.   Hi all, The following code works fine on my WAMP localhost server, but when I try to upload it, to my webhoste, it don't and I'm a bit confused about what's wrong. The code is: <?php if(isset($_GET['menu'])) { if($_GET['menu'] == 3) { echo "<!--Gallery Scripts-->\n"; echo gallery(); } } ?> The purpose is that if the URL is saying: index.php?menu=3 it will run the function "gallery()" which will load the gallery. • Programmatically generate video or animated GIF in Python?

  I have a series of images that I want to create a video from. Ideally I could specify a frame duration for each frame but a fixed frame rate would be fine too. I'm doing this in wxPython, so I can render to a wxDC or I can save the images to files, like PNG. Is there a Python library that will allow me to create either a video (AVI, MPG, etc) or an animated GIF from these frames? Edit: I've already tried PIL and it doesn't seem to work. Can someone correct me with this conclusion or suggest another toolkit? • How do You Get a Specific Value From a System.Data.DataTable Object?

  I'm a low-level algorithm programmer, and databases are not really my thing - so this'll be a n00b question if ever there was one. I'm running a simple SELECT query through our development team's DAO. The DAO returns a System.Data.DataTable object containing the results of the query. This is all working fine so far. The problem I have run into now: I need to pull a value out of one of the fields of the first row in the resulting DataTable - and I have no idea where to even start. Microsoft is so confusing about this! Arrrg! Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not providing any code samples, because I believe that context is unnecessary here. I'm assuming that all DataTable objects work the same way, no matter how you run your queries - and therefore any additional information would just make this more confusing for everyone.

• Why image button dont work with forms in IExplorer 7+ ??? (Html)

  Hello guys, i have a web form who send post variables like: <form action="teacher.php" method="post"> <input name="pass" type="password"> <input name="quiere" type="image" value="submit" src="IMG/unlock-32.png" /> </from> In the same page i check for a submit acction with php doing a simple isset check like: "if (isset($_POST['quiere'])) {" But if you do this in IE the post var "QUIERE" (the button var) does not post, the others vars are fine, and if you try this simple form in any other browser it works. I only get this form function well in IE changing the button for a normal button, instead of a image button like: <input name="quiere" type="submit" value="submit" /> In this way, the var "quiere" get post. So, what do you think? and sorry for my english.

• Asp.net 4.0 site fails because no handler mapped with Classic appPool

  When I create a Asp.net app and flip the appPool to "ASP.NET v4.0 Classic" it fails with the following error: HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler. After some searching it seems to be the handler not mapping correctly for the Classic mode but I can't find out where or how to fix that. I have the full .Net 4.0 install with VS2010 and the app works fine if I flip the appPool to Integrated. Also, it's a Windows 7 machine (I'm having the same problem on a Vista box). • Is there a way to read what NSLog is writing from within the app?

  I have already tried stderr = stdout = fopen("/Users/Jared/Desktop/Untitled.txt", "w"); just as a test (obvi not production code) and this works fine for printf and some errors, but fails to redirect NSLog. I would like to be able to read what is being sent to NSLog as a string, and preferably prevent it from actually going into the system logs, although I don't particularly care if it has to. I need it to redirect logging from both my own code and apple's frameworks, which is why I can't just write a function that would append logs to a string. Thanks

Unless there's something new in Grails 1.2.1 or Groovy that I'm not understanding. They should be of the same type because the values are both the value returned by Calendar.getInstance().get(Calendar.YEAR)

• Output Path property issue on build server

  I am working in the .NET 3.5 framework. I have a project that builds fine locally. I can build it on our build server when the source files are posted there. However when I am running the build process through Visual Studio 2010 I get a warning that says "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets: The OutputPath property is not set for this project. Please check to make sure that you have specified a valid Configuration/Platform combination. Configuration='DEV' Platform='Any CPU'" Any suggestions anyone has or if you need additional information please let me know. I have been struggling with this for a couple of days now. • Visual Web Developer 2005 Express loads very slowly

  I admit that I am not a guru of Visual Studio products at all. I am using Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and I'm trying to load someone else's project. This project happens to be a website with many pages. After loading VWD, it asks for a project to open and I select the solution file. It then proceeds to take an extremely long time to load. The status bar indicates that references are being loaded, many of which are in the System.Web.* area it seems. It seems like it's going back and forth between some different packages. The loading time is upwards of 20 to 30 minutes or more. Some others have stated that their projects open fine when they go to File Open Website... and choose the project directory from there. Any ideas what the problem could be and how to fix it? Edit: It finally completed loading after an hour approximately.
