  • Prevent drop down list options scrolling on Windows in SWT

    One of the drop down lists in my Java SWT application has 8 fixed options. When I click on it only 5 first options are visible and I have to scroll the list down to view the rest. Is there any way to force it to make all options visible without having to scroll down? There is another similar .NET application that has same drop down list with the same options and they all are visible without having to scroll down!

  • NoSuchMethodErrors say the darndest things

    So, I'm working in eclipse were everything compiles and runs correctly. However, when compiling under ant for the build server, A large number of tests fail with a NoSuchMethodError saying: class A implements B interface B extends C C requires method getSyncID() // standard getter for an int field. A.java contains getSyncID() A.class contains getSyncID() and yet the Error is still thrown. Does anyone know how the hell this could happen? how to fix it.

  • Disable JPanel with visual effect

    I'm looking for a good way to disable a JPanel. I'm using a MVC design for a Java Swing GUI. I want the JPanel to be disabled while the model is processing stuff. I've tried setEnabled(false). That disables user input on the JPanel, but I'd like it to be grayed out to add a more visual effect. Thanks in advance!

The program I want to start is java based, and I know how to use QProcess to get it to open, I don't know however how to add the file extension which the user is selecting. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to write it so that if the user leaves the input blank, then the letter that would otherwise be taken to generate the username defaults to the letter 'z'.     Hi, I wanted to use this code to send archives with Xmodem: http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/Network-Protocol/JModemsimplecommunicationsprogram.htm In this case, I want to establish a dialup connection between two computers and send a binary file. But this code doesn't let me set a phone number to dial after i setup the port and before I transfer the file. Is there any way of sharing the port with another application that dials the phone number?

    Hi there, I'm loosing my hair trying to figure out why net.sf.json.JSONObject add extra backslash where it shouldn't on my java code : JSONObject obj = new JSONObject (); obj.element ("column_name", "<a href=\"#\" title=\"test\">Test !</a>"); will output : <a href=\"#\" title=\"test\">Test !<\/a> with an extra "\" near <\/a.     I want to view events over specific time range for a specific calendar, but am having trouble using the API, It is a generic API, and it reminds me of using the DOM. The problem is that it seems difficult to work with because much of the information is in generic base classes. How do I get the events for a calendar using Groovy or Java? Is there any JDBC-function for this? I can not find any methods for this in java.sql.Resultset. For acessing the file, I use code similar to the example on the CsvJdbc website.

  • Browser removing + from request parameter

    Hello everyone, I'm trying to pass an SQL query string from a Java Applet to Servlet as a parameter. Problem is that in Applet I have something say: sql=select * from p where(+p=1) The resulting sql parameter in the Servlet is sql=select * from p where(+p=1). So anyone knows how to prevent the browser from removing the + character from parameters? Is there a escape character? Thank you.
