  • software creating top view maps

    Hi, Please suggest a good software that lets you create top view maps like . I know photoshop and illustrator. But It would make my life easier if there are software that already does this. If I would do it in photoshop, I would have to worry more about textures and object. I would so worry about the size, It should be scalable and would look good in print and screen. I more likely to recreate those object in photoshop. Please suggest a good software or approach to do this. Thanks!

  • Coldfusion 8 Application Crashes Under Heavy Load

    Hello, We have a CF8 app that runs for 20-25 minutes before crashing under heavy load ~ 1200 users. This load is generated by our load testing tool: 1200 users ramped up in 5 mins (approx behavior of our users), running for an hour. We have this app on Solaris 10, Apache 2, JRun 4 and Oracle 10g. Java version is 1.6. During the initial load tests, the thread dumps pointed to monitor deadlocks that pointed to sessions. "jrpp-173": waiting to lock monitor 0x019fdc60 (object 0x6b893530, a java.util.Hashtable), which is held by "scheduler-1" "scheduler-1": waiting to lock monitor 0x026c3ce0 (object 0x6abe2f20, a coldfusion.monitor.memory.SessionMemoryMonitor$TopMemoryUsedSessions), which is held by "jrpp-167" "jrpp-167": waiting to lock monitor 0x019fdc60 (object 0x6b893530, a java.util.Hashtable), which is held by "scheduler-1" We increased the number of sessions relative to the number of CPUs (48 simultaneous threads against 32 CPUs), and the deadlock went away. While varying the simultaneous threads helped a little bit in terms of response time, the CF server still tanked in 20-25 minutes during all of these tests. We ran more thread dumps, and saw a thread locking a monitor, for e.g.: "jrpp-475" prio=3 tid=0x02230800 nid=0x2c5 runnable [0x4397d000] java.lang.Thread.State: RUNNABLE at java.util.HashMap.getEntry(HashMap.java:347) at java.util.HashMap.containsKey(HashMap.java:335) at java.util.HashSet.contains(HashSet.java:184) at coldfusion.monitor.memory.MemoryTracker.onAddObject(MemoryTracker.java:124) at coldfusion.monitor.memory.MemoryTrackerProxy.onReplaceValue(MemoryTrackerProxy.java:598) at coldfusion.monitor.memory.MemoryTrackerProxy.onPut(MemoryTrackerProxy.java:510) at coldfusion.util.CaseInsensitiveMap.put(CaseInsensitiveMap.java:250) at coldfusion.util.FastHashtable.put(FastHashtable.java:43) - locked <0x6f7e1a78> (a coldfusion.runtime.Struct) at coldfusion.runtime.CfJspPage._arrayset(CfJspPage.java:1027) at coldfusion.runtime.CfJspPage._arraySetAt(CfJspPage.java:2117) at cfvalidation2ecfc1052964961$funcSETUSERAUDITDATA.runFunction(/app/docs/apply/cfcs/validation.cfc:377) As you see in the last line above there were several references CFMs and CFCs, and the lines have "cflock" tags, which were scoped to the "application." We (the dev team) then changed them to be scoped to a "name". After more load tests, there is no locking going on and there no deadlocks, but now the application tanks in 7-10 minutes. We've gotten system, network and DB reports from the respective admins, and they are not being taxed; even watched the server stats with server monitor, top, prstat, ran sar reports, etc. So we believe it is an issue with the CF server or maybe the JVM. I am running out of ideas as to what else we can try. Disclaimer: I am not a CF developer or Admin. I am just running the load test, analyzing the reports, threads etc, and sharing the results with the dev and admin teams, and trying the next change, and so on. So far no dice. Has anyone run into something similar? How did you go about diagnosing and troubleshooting? All thoughts and pointers welcome. Thank you for your time! KM

  • Mixed sessions with Classic ASP on IIS 7.5 and Windows 2008 R2 64 bit

    Recently had an issues with a server upgrade from IIS 6 on Windows 2003 to IIS 7.5 on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit. We have a number of websites running on Classic ASP. All the sites sit under a particular site, e.g. www.example.com/foo and www.example.com/foobar. On IIS 6 each site was set up as a virtual directory and things worked fine. Since moving to the new set up, a lot of websites seem to have mixed Sessions. To be clear, this is not a app pool recycling issue; rather the sessions are populated with information when the user hits the site and while browsing they get sessions from different sites. We've determined this based on - a few customers called up and reported having their shopping cart with items with names of items belonging to a different site - also our own testing showed that some queries being run would try to bring products in from a different site We've tried - disabling dynamic caching - converting each site to be a virtual application (if I understand correctly, the virtual directory/application concepts were changed/refined somewhat in IIS 7 although to be honest, I'm not clear what the difference is) - various application pool changes (using .NET 2 framework), classic and integrated modes, changing the Process model to NetworkIdentity), all to no avail. The only thing we haven't tried is changing it to run as a 32 bit application. We're not using http only cookies, so when I open up a browser and type document.cookie into the dev console in Firefox/Chrome/IE that there will be multiple ASPSESSIONID=... values whereas previously I believe there was only one. Finally, we use server side JScript for the classic ASP pages, not VBScript, so we have code similar to the below. //the user's login account as a jscript object Session("user") = { email : "[email protected]", id : 123 }; and if we execute a line of code like below: Response.Write( typeof(Session("user")) ); When things are running correctly, we get "object" - as expected. When the Session gets trashed, the output is "unknown" and we are also unable to access the fields within the JScript object (e.g. the .email or .id fields). Much appreciated if anyone can provide any pointers about how to resolve this, everything on google seems to point to different issues.

    What would cause running the file /usr/sbin/xenstored to print sh: /usr/sbin/xenstored: not found However, the file /usr/sbin/xenstored is there and is not a symbolic link. Actually I should be running this as root. That prints a similarly odd message. sudo: unable to execute /usr/sbin/xenstored: No such file or directory By the way, xenstored is not a script, it's an ELF executable. My guess is that it's because I haven't gotten all the dependent libraries installed. However, I would expect it to say something like this: ./xenstored: error while loading shared libraries: libxenctrl.so.4.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Which is true of running xenstored on a system that doesn't have all the required libraries. Why do I get "not found" vs the much more useful "cannot open shared object file"?

    Im trying to setup libwebsock, simple C websocket library. I followed the installation procedure from INSTALL file, everything went fine. Im able to compile test program given in the examples. But when I want to run my executable, wild error appears: ./echo: error while loading shared libraries: libwebsock.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I checked /usr/local/lib twice, libwebsock.so.1 exists and is doing very well. I also tried copying the lib to the echo folder (so its placed next to binary), still same error. It's quite funny for me: shadowz@Ubu:~/WebSocket$ ls echo echo.c echo.cpp libwebsock.so.1 shadowz@Ubu:~/WebSocket$ ./echo ./echo: error while loading shared libraries: libwebsock.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Any suggestions?   • What is this "Change to Display" of math equations and why does it change the equation style in Word 2010?

    I am writing an equation with the "new" Equation Editor in MS Word 2010 (Insert - Equation). When using one of the "large operators", for example the Sigma, with lower and upper limits, there are two styles for displaying the limits - below and above the Sigma, or to the right as super/subscripts. I am choosing the first style - limits above and below to get the standard notation, but Word formats the equation the other way. Now, the object has a bounding box with a context menu on its right. In this menu, I can select Change to Display and the equation is moved to a new line, w/o adjacent text - but, now the sigma limits appear as requested! Then, selecting Change to Inline reverts to the previous form. So, I want to know if there is away to force the requested form with an "inline" attribute? I know that I can use a MS Equation 3.0 object, but I want to remain with the new, "native" editor.

    I needed a powershell 2 script to get the name and device name of each interface like it is shown in network connections in control panel. Should be easy... $interfaces = Get-WmiObject Win32_NetworkAdapter $interfaces | foreach { $friendlyname = $_ | Select-Object -ExpandProperty NetConnectionID $name = $_ | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Name } However, $name comes back as "Broadcom BCM5709C NetXtreme II GigE (NDIS VBD Client)", whereas in control panel it shows "Broadcom BCM5709C NetXtreme II GigE (NDIS VBD Client) #69", because there are multiple cards. I can't find that number anywhere in the properties. How can I get both the Name and Device Name, exactly as shown in Network Connections, in powershell 2 on windows server 2008 r2?

  • In blender 3D, is it possible to save a keyframe of a mesh that has a soft body property

    I am using blender 3D right now, and i 'baked' a cloth soft body. However, i want just one keyframe of the cloth. In this case, i make curtains for a window and made it a cloth. I baked it to just how i want the cloth to look, but for my animation i want a single still cloth object to be placed. I want the curtains to be one still cloth-looking object for the whole animation. So is there a way that i can get that mesh to stay in that one position for the entire animation? If so, then how do i do it?

And I can't run any other java command: # java -version Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. # java -Xmx8m -version Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. I want to know why the -Xmx parameter does not take effect? How can I limit the jar file using the memory?

    I'm trying to get Powershell to list files in a directory that are older than a certain date and match a certain user. I've got the below script so far which gives me all the files older than a certain date and lists the directory and who owns them: $date=get-date $age=$date.AddDays(-30) ls '\\server\share\folder' -File -Recurse | ` where {$_.lastwritetime -lt "$age"} | ` select-object $_.fullname,{(Get-ACL $_.FullName).Owner} | ` ft -AutoSize However, when I try and use an additional where parameter to select only files owned by a certain user, I get no results at all, even though I know I should, based on the match I'm trying to obtain (as below): $date=get-date $age=$date.AddDays(-30) ls '\\server\share\folder' -File -Recurse | ` where ({$_.lastwritetime -lt "$age"} -and {{(get-acl $_.FullName).owner} -eq "domain\user"}) | ` select-object $_.fullname,{(Get-ACL $_.FullName).Owner} | ` ft -AutoSize Am I missing something?   • Running Emacs on Multiple TTYs in screen

    When working with EMACS over SSH, is there any way to spawn a new frame of the same emacs session on a different terminal? In my use case, I have screen running, so I have multiple terminals, and can recover which pseudo terminal they're attached to with pts. Suppose I have two "windows" (in GNU screen parlance). The first one is attached to /dev/pts/12 and the second one is attached to /dev/pts/13. I launch emacs on the first window. Is there any way for me to start a new frame of the same session on the second window? I've been playing with passing arguments to make-frame but it seems that the usage that allows me to specify a terminal requires that a terminal object already exists, and I can't see any way to create a new terminal object.

  • How do you configure Tomcat to allow dynamically added hosts?

    Is there a way to setup apache and tomcat so that I can have d1.webapp.com d2.webapp.com d3.webapp.com etc. All hosted by the same tomcat instance without having to add aliases to the HOSTS element in the tomcat config file? I will be allowing new users to have thier own domain when they sign up and it will be a subdomain of the web app. I don't want to keep updating the hosts file for aliases and restarting tomcat though each time a new user signs up?

    I have an Access 2003 database. When I click on a pivot table, I get this message MS Access There isn't enough memory to complete the Automation object operation on the worksheet object. There is a lot of discussion concerning this message. Here is one link. http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/113228-access-2003-file-pivot-table-issue-when-opening-in-access-2010 But this particular link's explanation doesn't really go into fixing the problem in general, like fixing the pivot tables and getting things all nicely back together in the original Access database. That's why I am also interested in converting the database to 2010 format if that is possible. Are there instructions -- I cannot currently find them and would very much appreciate a link -- on dealing with this problem in a nice stepwise fashion?

    Currently I try to simulate my app as distributed servers, so I let them run on localhost:9000 and localhost:9001, i tried using apache load balancer but it is really hard to config on mac, my idea is the second server localhost:9001 will be kept ideal and the requests only be redirected to them when the first server is downed. Is there any good free program can do that ? (except Apache httpd). Extra functions: my application is written in java and maintain an in-memory object, is there any service that can synchronize that object between 2 servers so they can keep uptodate status of other (the second one takes state of the first one)?     I'm using Confio Ignite8 to derive this information, and monitor waits. I have one query that runs frequently, and I notice that on some days there is an extremely high number of logical reads incurred, +300,000,000 for 91,000 executions. On a good day, the logical reads are much lower, 18,000,000 for 94,000 executions. The execution plan for the query utilizes clustered index seeks, and is below.     this should be a really easy one but i can't seem to find an easy way. For example, in powershell and am using a CSV file, which is then used to look up some configuration data based on an ID. Here is what I have now, it works, but there has got to be a better way. $configList = import-csv "C:\myconfig.csv" $id = "5001" $configList | where-object {$_.id -eq $id} | foreach-object{ $configData = $_.configData} If use format-table etc, I always get the column header, which I would then have to cut off. Again, this has got to be really easy and this isn't a show stopper. But there has to be a better way to get just the data out of a table without the column header.

  • Is there a way to change the default animation speed in PowerPoint?

    I do a lot of PowerPoint (2007) presentations, and some of those involve some rather complex diagrams that I like to build step by step, using PowerPoint's animation feature. I prefer using the "fade in" style, but I find the default medium speed setting too low, so every time I'm adding an element to my animation, I have to go to the Speed dropdown box and select "Very fast". This is getting annoying, so I wonder if there is a way to tell PowerPoint that I'd like my standard animation speed (at least for fade-ins) to be "very fast"?
