What password do i use and if that's the one why wont it work? Thanks.
I want one product to cover for Anti-virus & Firewall purposes. The product should also be lightweight and of course designed for windows server. Any suggestions?
Note: I don't need an enterprise solution for the clients - only for the server.
BTW, I currently using Symantec SEP, but it's too heavy (during weekly scans) for the server to handle and is not designed for server purposes.
I have a reader from ACS "ACR83" and a brand new card from the same place ACO3-32 as a development kit and I need to use both of them to login into my laptop locally

I installed Proxifier an application that makes applications (that might not use the IE proxy settings) use a specific proxy, but right after installing it Windows Live Messenger stopped working. I was looking for alternative programs?
Thank you so much in advance!
Edit: I found ProxyCap which was the most stable out of the ones I found. Worked perfectly.
I'd like to setup a FTP over SSH connection within my network places so my applications can access those files as if it were another mapped drive. Is this possible under windows XP?
Is it posible to use the integrated microfone that comes with the Mac Book Pro inside Virtual Box with Windows XP Host? Because I tried and the only thing I get is noise.
Thanks
Is there any work around to Successfully install SQL server 2008 32-bit on Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit ?
If this is the case I first installed VS 2008 SP 1 on my machine and when I click on install.exe file for installing SQL Server 2008 (Developer Edition) I get an error related to .NET Framework version which is installed already on my PC. { I get the same error trying to install Enterprise Edition}
If I run the following command:
netsh advfirewall reset
The windows firewall will get flushed back to it's defaults and looses any program specific rules.
Will programs that require firewall access start prompting the user after the reset is triggered?
Windows XP/2k3 and earlier (can't attest to Vista, but suspect it's the same) all appear to become more sluggish over time as applications are installed and uninstalled.
This is not a scientifically tested observation, but more of a learned-through-experience piece of wisdom. (I've always suspected the registry as being behind the issue.)
Does anyone have any concrete evidence of this degradation occurring, or it just an invalid perception of mine?
Well, I tried searching and nothing came up. Hopefully this is not a repeat question but...
Whats the easiest way to install windows 7 from a pen drive?
there is a format for a hard drive that both mac and windows OS can read/write to? I want an external hard drive that stores files they can both read/write, and use for backups, etc.
Hi
I need to control a Windows 7 PC via VNC from a Mac in an office LAN. Since the IPs are dynamically assigned, I'd like the PC to appear in my "Places" and in the automatically detected nearby servers in VNC client I'm using -- both of which require the PC to advertise its VNC server via Samba (right?).
I tried installing ultravnc, which works when I access it directly by IP, but it doesn't seem to advertise itself in the network.
Any ideas?
I've got a website that is exhibiting slow performance on the first load and would like to attempt to load it every 5 minutes or so to keep the cache fresh. Are there any simple tools to accomplish this? Scheduled tasks doesn't have quite the time resolution I need. The tricky thing is that this site uses Windows authentication so a wget script won't work. I'm also worried about instantiating a bunch of copies of internet explorer or attempting to kill iexplore.exe tasks blindly.
The Suse machine is a vmware virtual machine on my laptop.
I can log in to the console using the VmWare app, but would like to log into a graphical user interface from Windows 7.
As you can tell i am a bit lost in linux world...
I need to find a good firewall for windows that i can use to block packets based on their tcp flags. In this case for example, i need to block incoming FIN packets.
Does anyone have a firewall to suggest?
Thanks.
I do not have any disks for windows 7 and can not access anything from my computer. Is there anyway I can reset the password? Is there a master password or something I can do? Oh and I only have one account on the computer.
Whenever i plug in a USB device, Windows Live Messenger pops up the aformentioned dialog box. Every. Stinking. Time. How can i shut it up? (yes, i'm more than a little annoyed by it)
I tried using the GNU Emacs download, unzipped it and then clicked on emacs.exe, but got some obscure error.
Then I tried Cygwin emacs, but when I press ctrl x ctrl c to quit emacs it thinks I pressed ctrl x ctrl "g"!!! I checked all the key mapping and they work otherwise in Emacs.
Is there another version of emacs for windows that just works!
When I was an undergrad I used to watch videos of lectures on tape. The library had these cool videos that let you watch at double speed. The voice would be high pitched, but I was able to get through them a lot faster. These days are long gone because everything is digitized. Is there any way to watch videos at double speed, including the audio, on my Windows machine?
I have English Windows 7 Professional with Hungarian keyboard language installed.
The English keyboard layout works as expected, but for the Hungarian layout some kind of "accent combining" is activated.
The effect of this ^+o becomes ô, ^+a becomes â, etc.
This is not helpful at all, since the accented characters of Hungarian are already mapped to keys, but it's really annoying because I have to type a non-combining character to actually get ^.
Is there any way to turn this "feature" off?
