    What happens to a dataset when your done using it. For example if I create and fill a dataset for a grid, when the user leaves that page or logs out I assume the dataset is still in memory? Does each user get their own instance of the dataset? In other words, if 2 users hit the same page that uses a grid are they each served their own instance of the dataset from server memory?

  • WPF: Notify visualParent when its children changed their size

    I have FrameworkElement, for example Grid, that has children(Cells, implemented in another control). When main Window changes size, i handle sizeChanged in Grid at first, and after that in some of its children. How can i get notify that all children sizeChanged events finished processing? Of course, i can raise other event in child sizeChanged and increase some counter, but for some reasons it is not the best decision. Can anyone recommend something? Thanks!

    Hi, what I want to do is to know where (not in terms of position (x, y), but a reference to the DOM element) an object was dropped. I have a grid made up with divs where you can drop various items and I need to know which div on the grid was the item dropped on (getting its id would be fine). The callback function function(event, ui) { //code here } has just that ui object who doesn't apparently contain any information about this, but only about the draggable item or its helper.

    Hi All, i am using a data grid in flex and i am generating data from a mysql server. However, my problem is with adding a button within the datagrid so each row has one. i have set the columns itemRenderer to mx.controls.Button although with the buttons shown in the grid there is no label on them (even though one has been set) and the assigned click event does not trigger when hitting the button. anyone have any ideas or guidance on what i am doing wrong.     i have a page consisting of devexpress gridview control with 4 columns and 4 asp.net text boxes. on selecting a row in gridview ,it should update the 4 textboxes with the values of the row selected. so i was assigning the value of the rows of the grid to the text box in the custom callback event of the grid and also the value gets assigned to the all textboxes's text property but it doesn't updates the textbox value in the UI screen.

    I'm using Alberto Santini's solution to this question to get a spiral grid reference based on an items index Algorithm for iterating over an outward spiral on a discrete 2D grid from the origin It's not the accepted solution, but it's the best for my needs as it avoids using a loop. It's working well, but what I want now is to do the inverse. Based on a known x and y coordinate return the index of a location. This is as a precursor to returning the items surrounding a given location.

    I have a grid with 2 columns, a listbox in column 0 and a number of other controls in the a secondary grid in the main grids column 1. I want this controls only to be enabled (or perhaps visible) if an items is selected in the listbox through binding. I tried on a combo box: IsEnabled="{Binding myList.SelectedIndex}" But that does not seem to work. Am I missing something? Should something like this work? thanks

    I have been using rsync to copy a large backup file from a remote host to my QNAP NAS. It's been working fine until recently. It seems like almost every time when it executes it's giving a time out after 15s. Following is what I have captured in the log.   • Squid, NTLM, Windows 7 and IE8

    I'm running Squid 2.7-stable4, Samba 3 and the Windows 7 RC with IE8. I have NTLM authentication setup on my squid proxy server and it works fine for every combination of browser and Windows (including IE8 on XP and Firefox on Win7), but it doesn't work (keeps asking for authentication) for IE8 on Windows 7. I can get it to work using the LmCompatibilityLevel registry hack, but I'd really prefer to get it working on the server. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or know where to start looking? The samba logs don't reveal much.
