• Failed to Install Xdebug

  've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. I've used both "zend_extention" and "zend_extention_ts" to specify the path of the xdebug dll. I ensured that my apache server restarted and used the latest change of my php.ini by executing "httpd -k restart". Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? • WPF TabItem Custom ContentTemplate

  I have been strugging with this for a while, it would have been simple to do in WindowForms. I am making a IRC Client, there will be a number of Tabs one for each channel connect to. Each Tab needs to show a number of things, UserList, MessageHistory, Topic. In WindowForms i would just have inherited from TabItem, added some Custom Properties, and Controls, and done. In WPF i am having some slight issues with working out how to do it. The problem is that all the values are being written at the same place. I have tried to insert a new line but it does not seem to work. Can anyone suggest me how i can do it?   I am trying to get validation to work in ASP.NET MVC 2, but without much success. I have a complex class containing a large number of fields. (Don't ask - this is oneo f those real-world situations best practices can't touch) This would normally be my Model and is a LINQ-to-SQL generated class. • How do I use C# and ADO.NET to query an Oracle table with a spatial column of type SDO_GEOMETRY?

  My development machine is running Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit version. I am using Visual Studio 2010 Release Candidate. I am connecting to an Oracle 11g Enterprise server version 11.1.0.7.0. I had a difficult time locating Oracle client software that is made for 64-bit Windows systems and eventually landed here to download what I assume is the proper client connectivity software. I added a reference to "Oracle.DataAccess" which is version 2.111.6.0 (Runtime Version is v2.0.50727). I am targeting .NET CLR version 4.0 since all properties of my VS Solution are defaults and this is 2010 RC. I was then able to write a console application in C# that established connectivity, executed a SELECT statement, and properly returned data when the table in question does NOT contain a spatial column. My problem is that this no longer works when the table I query has a column of type SDO_GEOMETRY in it. Below is the simple console application I am trying to run that reproduces the problem. I don't know if there is some configuration on my machine or the Oracle machine that needs to be done, or if the Oracle client software I have installed is wrong, or old and needs to be updated. Here is the SQL I used to create the table, populate it with some rows containing points in the spatial column, etc. if you want to try to reproduce this exactly. • Mercurial hg clone on Windows via ssh with copSSH issue

  I have a Windows Server 2008 machine (iis7) that has CopSSH set up on it. To connect to it, I have a Windows 7 machine with Mercurial 1.5.1 (and TortoiseHg) installed. I can connect to the server using PuTTY with a non-standard ssh port and a .ppk file just fine. So I know the server can be SSH'd into. Next, I wanted to use the CLI to connect via hg clone to get a private repo. I've seen elsewhere that you need to have ssh configured in your mercurial.ini file, so my mercurial.ini has a line: ssh = plink.exe -ssh -C -l username -P #### -i "C:/Program Files/PuTTY/Key Files/KyleKey.ppk" Note: username is filled in with the username I set up via copSSH. #### is filled in with the non-standard ssh port I've defined for copSSH. I try to do the command hg clone ssh://inthom.com but I get this error: remote: bash: inthom.com: command not found abort: no suitable response from remote hg! It looks like hg or plink parses the hostname such that it thinks that inthom.com is a command instead of the server to ssh to. That's really odd. Next, I tried to just use plink to connect by plink -P #### ssh://inthom.com, and I am then prompted for my username, and next password. I enter them both and then I get this error: bash: ssh://inthom.com: No such file or directory So now it looks like plink doesn't parse the hostname correctly. I fiddled around for a while trying to figure out how to do call hg clone with an empty ssh:// field and eventually figured out that this command allows me to reach the server and clone a test repo on the inthom.com server: hg clone ssh://!/Repos/test ! is the character I've found that let's me leave the hostname blank, but specify the repo folder to clone. What I really don't understand is how plink knows what server to ssh to at all. neither my mercurial.ini nor the command specify a server. None of the hg clone examples I've seen have a ! character. They all use an address, which makes sense, so you can connect to any repo via ssh that you want to clone. My only guess is that it somehow defaults to the last server I used PuTTY to SSH to, but I SSH'd into another server, and then tried to use plink to get to it, but plink still defaults to inthom.com (verified with the -v arg to plink). So I am at a loss as to how plink gets this server value at all. For "fun", I tried using TortoiseHg and can only clone a repo when I use ssh://!/Repos/test as the Source. Now, you can see that, since plink doesn't parse the hostname correctly, I had to specify the port number and username in the mercurial.ini file, instead of in the hostname like [email protected]:#### like you'd expect to. Trying to figure this out at first drove me insane, because I would get errors that the host couldn't be reached, which I knew shouldn't be the case. My question is how can I configure my setup so that ssh://[email protected]:####/Repos/test is parsed correctly as the username, hostname, port number, and repo to copy? Is it something wrong with the version of plink that I'm using, or is there some setting I may have messed up? If it is plink's fault, is there an alternative tool I can use? I'm going to try to get my friend set up to connect to this same repo, so I'd like to have a clean solution instead of this ! business. Especially when I have no idea how plink gets this default server, so I'm not sure if he'd even be able to get to inthom.com correctly. PS. I've had to use a ton of different tutorials to even get to this stage. Therefore, I haven't tried pushing any changes to the server yet. Hopefully I'll get this figured out and then I can try pushing changes to the repo.

• Jquery removeClass Not Working

  Hey, My site is here: http://treethink.com What I have going is a news ticker on the right that is inside a jquery function. The function starts right away and extracts the news ticker and then retracts it as it should. When a navigation it adds a class to the div, which the function then checks for to see if it should stop extracting/retracting. This all works great. The problem I am having is that after the close button is clicked (in the content window), the removeClass won't work. This means that it keeps thinking the window is open and therefore the conditional statement inside the function won't let it extract and retract again. With a simple firebug check, it's showing that the class isn't being removed period. It's not the cboxClose id that it's not finding because I tried changing that to just "a" tags in general and it still wouldn't work so it's something to do with the jQuery for sure. Someone also suggested a quick alert() to check if the callback is working but I'm not sure what this is. • C# asp.net EF MVC postgresql error 23505: Duplicate key violates unique constraint

  EDIT: It was issue with database table - dropping and recreating table id column did the work. Problem solved. I'm trying to build web application, that is connected to postgresql database. Results are displaying in view with Kendo UI. When I'm trying to add new row (with Kendo UI 'Add new record' button), I get error 23505: 'Duplicate key violates unique constraint'. My guess is, that EF takes id to insert from the beginning, not the last one, because after 35 (it's number of rows in table) tries - and errors - adding works perfectly. Can someone help me to understand, what's wrong? • FMOD.net streaming, callback and exinfo parameters

  I posted a question on gamedev about how to play nsf files (NES console music) in FMOD. It didn't get any results, but since then I made some progress. I decided that the easiest method was just to compile an existing player into a dll and then call it from C# to populate my buffer. The problem now is getting it to sound right, and making sure all my paremeters are correct. Here are the facts so far: The nsf dll is dealing with shorts, so the data is PCM16. The sample nsf I'm using has a playback rate of 60 Hz. Just for playing around now, I'm using a frequency of 48000. Based on 2 and 3, the dll calculates a necessary buffer size of 48000 / 60hz = 800. This means it will render 800 shorts worth of buffer for every simulated NES frame. I've so far got my C# code to play the nsf, at the correct pitch and tempo, but it's very grainy / fuzzy, which I'm attributing to the fact that the FMOD read callback is giving a data length of 1600, whereas I should be expecting 800. I've tried playing around with all the numbers and it either crashes, or the music changes pitch, tempo, or both. The process_buffer function takes a short array and its length. I would expect fmod is talking about shorts as well because I told it PCM16. Maybe my playback quality is bad for some totally different reason. If so I have no idea where to begin solving that. Any ideas there?

• Ivy resolve not working with dynamic artifact

  I've been using Ivy a bit but I seem to still have a lot to learn. I have two projects. One is a web app and the other is a library upon which the web app depends. The set up is that the library project is compiled to a jar file and published using Ivy to a directory within the project. In the web app build file, I have an ant target that calls the Ivy resolve ant task. What I'd like to do is have the web app using the dynamic resolve mode during development (on developer's local machines) and default resolve mode for test and production builds. Previously I was appending a time stamp to the library archive file so that Ivy would notice changes in file when the web app tried to resolve its dependency on it. Within Eclipse this is cumbersome because, in the web app, the project had to be refreshed and the build path tweaked every time a new library jar was published. Publishing a similarly named jar file every time would, I figure, only require developers to refresh the project. The problem is that the web app is unable to retrieve the dynamic jar file.   Hi, I'm not sure if there many Mule users on here but I'm hoping someone might be able to help me! I'm having a problem calling a webservice from Mule using Axis. I've created a fairly simple example where I have xml in a file being read by Mule, it's then transformed into a Document and sent to the webservice.   I have the following class that implements IXmlSerializable. When implementing WriteXml(), I need to handle the case where the string members of this class may be null values. What is the best way of handling this? Currently, I am using the default constructor in which all the string properties are initialized to empty string values. This way, when WriteXml() is called, the string will not be null. One other way I could do this is check using String.IsNullOrEmpty before writing each string in xml. • Why does IHttpAsyncHandler leak memory under load?

  I have noticed that the .NET IHttpAsyncHandler (and the IHttpHandler, to a lesser degree) leak memory when subjected to concurrent web requests. In my tests, the development web server (Cassini) jumps from 6MB memory to over 100MB, and once the test is finished, none of it is reclaimed. The problem can be reproduced easily. Create a new solution (LeakyHandler) with two projects: An ASP.NET web application (LeakyHandler.WebApp) A Console application (LeakyHandler.ConsoleApp) In LeakyHandler.WebApp: Create a class called TestHandler that implements IHttpAsyncHandler. In the request processing, do a brief Sleep and end the response. Add the HTTP handler to Web.config as test.ashx. In LeakyHandler.ConsoleApp: Generate a large number of HttpWebRequests to test.ashx and execute them asynchronously. As the number of HttpWebRequests (sampleSize) is increased, the memory leak is made more and more apparent. A word search, as defined by Wikipedia, is: A word search, word find, word seek, word sleuth or mystery word puzzle is a word game that is letters of a word in a grid, that usually has a rectangular or square shape. The objective of this puzzle is to find and mark all the words hidden inside the box. The words may be horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Often a list of the hidden words is provided, but more challenging puzzles may let the player figure them out. Many word search puzzles have a theme to which all the hidden words are related. The word searches for this challenge will all be rectangular grids with a list of words to find provided. The words can be written vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Input/Output The user inputs their word search and then inputs a word to be found in their grid. These two inputs are passed to the function that you will be writing. The problem comes up when I use choice 'D' (input a new string.) as soon as enter is hit, the program returns right to the choice prompt and sets the inputString variable to blank (not the word blank, but nothing in it) the first getline(cin, inputString) works perfectly fine, the second one is the issue giver...any suggestions?

  Hello, I'm trying to write a not so smart factorization program and trying to do it in parallel using TPL. However, after about 15 minutes of running on a core 2 duo machine, I am getting an aggregate exception with an overflow exception inside it. All the entries in the stack trace are part of the .NET framework, the overflow does not come from my code. Any help would be appreciated in figuring out why this happens. • Strategy and AI for the game 'Proximity'

  'Proximity' is a strategy game of territorial domination similar to Othello, Go and Risk. Two players, uses a 10x12 hex grid. Game invented by Brian Cable in 2007. Seems to be a worthy game for discussing a) optimal strategy then b) how to build an AI Strategies are going to be probabilistic or heuristic-based, due to the randomness factor, and the high branching factor (starts out at 120). So it will be kind of hard to compare objectively. A compute time limit of 5s per turn seems reasonable. Game: Flash version here and many copies elsewhere on the web Rules: here Object: to have control of the most armies after all tiles have been placed. Each turn you received a randomly numbered tile (value between 1 and 20 armies) to place on any vacant board space. If this tile is adjacent to any ally tiles, it will strengthen each tile's defenses +1 (up to a max value of 20). If it is adjacent to any enemy tiles, it will take control over them if its number is higher than the number on the enemy tile. Thoughts on strategy: Here are some initial thoughts; setting the computer AI to Expert will probably teach a lot: minimizing your perimeter seems to be a good strategy, to prevent flips and minimize worst-case damage like in Go, leaving holes inside your formation is lethal, only more so with the hex grid because you can lose armies on up to 6 squares in one move low-numbered tiles are a liability, so place them away from your main territory, near the board edges and scattered. You can also use low-numbered tiles to plug holes in your formation, or make small gains along the perimeter which the opponent will not tend to bother attacking. a triangle formation of three pieces is strong since they mutually reinforce, and also reduce the perimeter Each tile can be flipped at most 6 times, i.e. when its neighbor tiles are occupied. Control of a formation can flow back and forth. Sometimes you lose part of a formation and plug any holes to render that part of the board 'dead' and lock in your territory/ prevent further losses. Low-numbered tiles are obvious-but-low-valued liabilities, but high-numbered tiles can be bigger liabilities if they get flipped (which is harder). One lucky play with a 20-army tile can cause a swing of 200 (from +100 to -100 armies). So tile placement will have both offensive and defensive considerations. Comment 1,2,4 seem to resemble a minimax strategy where we minimize the maximum expected possible loss (modified by some probabilistic consideration of the value ß the opponent can get from 1..20 i.e. a structure which can only be flipped by a ß=20 tile is 'nearly impregnable'.) I'm not clear what the implications of comments 3,5,6 are for optimal strategy. Interested in comments from Go, Chess or Othello players. (The sequel ProximityHD for XBox Live, allows 4-player -cooperative or -competitive local multiplayer increases the branching factor since you now have 5 tiles in your hand at any given time, of which you can only play one. Reinforcement of ally tiles is increased to +2 per ally.)
