Also, I want to find out how many nodes were selected in the given array. (separated by ). What will be the best way to implement this kind of scenario?

• Is strftime (hour) showing wrong time?

  I'm using this line to get the beginning time of the first day of the month. t = Time.now.to_date.beginning_of_month.beginning_of_day When i display this using t.strftime("%A %b %e @ %l:%m %p") it shows: Monday Feb 1 @ 12:02 AM The hour is always 12 (instead of 00), and more wierd the minute changes to match the month in integers. For the February date, it shows 12:02 AM I use .prior_month and .next_month on the variable to move forward or backwards in time. So when I move to June, this would display as Tuesday June 1 @ 12:06 AM But when I just show the value of "t" using a straight t.to_s, I get this time of 00:00:00, which is what I expect: Mon Feb 01 00:00:00 -0700 2010 A similar error occurs using end_of_day, but the hour is always 11 PM and the minute is the same integer value that matches the month in integers, i.e the time is 11:06 PM in June, 11:02 PM in February. Qurky? Admittedly a noob to Rails. Thanks for any comments or explanations.

  Hi folks, I'm having a major issue with an XSD dataset mapping thingy that I'm using within my current project. We are using XSDs for some data abstraction (it's quicker and debatably more maintainable that using Parameterised SQL or a StoredProc), and on my machine (running in the VS development environment) thy're working fine. However, on the Pre-production server we use for our testing, the XSDs are not working correctly: some method calls will fail with the following error: System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range. at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleParameter.set_DbType(DbType value) Has anyone ever encountered this issue before? The methods being called are simple select statements using 1-3 parameters, and as I said before they work fine on my machine.

  Hi to all, i am trying to use friendly url for my categories. Example Database cat_id | parent_id | name | url 1 0 cat1 cat1 2 1 cat2 cat2 My approach to do is to pass the parameter cat with url value for example show.php?cat=cat1 and in .htaccess i must rewrite to /cat1 BUT what about when i want to access cat2. I want to rewrite as cat1/cat2 so the parameter is show.php?cat=cat1/cat2 and then parse the value to secure that cat2 belong to cat1. And so on. I am not using MVC so i have to do it on my own. Please if any other solutions is better please advice or suggest me reading Thank in advance.

• SQL Server (2005) Linked Server Issue

  I have SQL Server 2005 with several linked server defined. One of them is a connection to an Oracle server and another one is an ODBC bridge to another server on a remote machine (ODBC server). Recently I tried to use the linked server to Oracle to update data with two large size tables by using several joints. The update query took too long time and finally there was exception thrown: Update O set value = l.value FROM OracleServer..schema.largesizeTable O Join localLargeSizeTable l on .... The problem is that after the exception, I realized that another linked server to ODBC was not working any more. I had to restart SQL server to get the ODBC linked server back. It looks that the linked server pool could be crashed if any of them failed(not like sandbox in Chrome for each tab and no impact on other tabs or Chrome application at all). I am not sure if my assumption is correct or not. Is this a known issue of SQL server 2005?

• How to auto-increment reference number persistently when NSManagedObjects created in core-data.

  In my application i am using core-data to store information and saving these data to the server using web-connectivity i have to use MySql. Basically what i want to do is to keep track of number of NSManagedObject already created and Whenever i am adding new NSManagedObject, based on that counting it will assign the class a Int_value which will act as primary_key in MySql. For examaple, there are already 10 NSManagedobjects, and when i will add new one it will assign it "11" as primary_key. these value will have to be increasing because there is no deleting of NSManagedObject. From my approach its about static member in applicationDelegate whose initial value can be any integer but should be incremented by one(like auto-increment) everytime new NSManagedObject is created and also it should be persistent. I am not clear how to do this, please give me suggestions. Thanks in advance.

• Creating a Large Matrix in ff

  I am trying to create a huge matrix in ff, and I know that ff is good for this sort of thing. But, there is a major problem. The dimensions of the matrix exceed .Machine$max_integer! I am running on a 64 bit machine, using 64bit R and 64bit ff. Is there any way to get around this problem? It's been suggested that R is using the MAXINT value from stdint.h.   I just moved from an Ubuntu PHP workstation dev environment back to Windows and am using xampp. I have a bit of code, like so: <input type="text" name="txtEmail" value="<?=$emailaddress;?>"/> that I swear worked to display the variable in the textbox when I was developing before. But when I loaded the page on Windows/xampp it just put that text between the quotes in the textbox. Instead, I ended up changing it to something like: <input type="text" name="txtFirstName" value="<?php echo($firstname);?>" /> The latter makes sense, but I guess I thought there was a shorthand or something, and I must be going crazy because I'm sure the first way was working on a difference environment. So what's the best way to do this?

• Generate non-identity primary key

  My workplace doesn't use identity columns or GUIDs for primary keys. Instead, we retrieve "next IDs" from a table as needed, and increment the value for each insert. Unfortunatly for me, LINQ-TO-SQL appears to be optimized around using identity columns. So I need to query and update the "NextId" table whenever I perform an insert. For simplicity, I do this immediately creating the new object. Since all operations between creation of the data context and the call to SubmitChanges are part of one transaction, do I need to create a separate data context for retrieving next IDs? Each time I need an ID, I need to query and update a table inside a transaction to prevent multiple apps from grabbing the same value. Is a separate data context the only way, or is there something better I could try?

  I need to implement a method that takes an address split up into individual parts and returns any matching items from an address table. If no matches are found, I want to be able to return a value indicating where it failed. Each input param has a corresponding field in the table. • C# WPF: Combobox isn't jumping down the list as I type when I use a multiconvert on it.

The problem is if the combobox is selected and I start typing, it doesn't jump down the list. Doesn't it go by what's displayed in the combobox for typing? • Spring 3 MVC - how to turn a form into a query string?

  I have a simple Spring form that gets bound to a form object on post. The http POST handler does some work, and then needs to redirect to a new URL, passing the form data as querystring parameters. So, assuming I have a form backing object with properties "param1" and "param2", I want to build a string that looks something like this: redirect:/app/new/page?param1=value;param2=value Now, Spring will automatically bind values FROM a querystring or a form post into my form object, but I want to GENERATE a querystring with values taken from the form object. Obviously it's trivial to do this manually but since I'm going to have lots of different form backing objects, is there some built-in facility in Spring to generate a query string from a form object, suitable for building into a URL?   I have a dynamically generated form that allows users to enter new data and edit existing data. When the form is submitted, it collates the input values and groups them according to whether they are new or not, the former being denoted by class="new-entry". So the function generates two arrays: updateData and insertData. Both arrays are of similar formats: [ 0: { 'id' = 1, 'value' = foo }, 1: { 'id' = 1, 'value' = 'bar' }, etc... ] I am combining them into a new array object to send via ajax to the controller: var postData = { 'update_data': updateData, 'insert_data': insertData }; Then in the ajax call: $.post(url, postData, function() { // some code }); However, in the controller, doing print_r($this->input->post()) or print_r($_POST) as a test only returns Array(). Even $this->input->post('update_data') returns nothing. How can I retrieve these arrays in the controller?

• Databinding Error when Recreating object

  Hi All, Figure there is a simple solution to this problem but I have been unable to find it. I have databinding in an ASP.Net application to a GridView. This gridview is bound to an ObjectDataSource as per standard usage. The problem I have is that one of my bound fields uses the property DataFormatString="{0:C}" and due to the currency format being displayed when an update is attempted and the object recreated I get a error as such "$13.00 is not a valid value for Decimal." Clearly this is a result of the column using a FormatString and then attempting to bind it back to a decimal property I have in my object called UnitPrice. I am assuming there is some markup I can set that can specify how the value is translated back? Thanks in advance for any help.

• Ajax to read updated values from XML

  I am creating file upload progress bar. I have a CGI script which copies the data, and here I increment the progress bar value by ONE after certain iterations. I am storing the incremented value in XML file (I also tried using plain text file). On the other side I have ajax reading incremented value from xml and depending on that it increments the DIV element. However, what happens here is, it seems to me that although the ajax reads all the incremented values but it processes it after the CGI has finished execution. That is progress bar starts execution once the file copying and other stuff in CGI is completed.
