  • Question regarding C++ Templates

    - by Isuru
    I used a simple class for a test program about templates, this is what I did: template <typename T> class test { public: test<T>::test(); T out(); }; template <typename T> test<T>::test() { } T test<T>::out() { } int main() { //test<int> t; } But when I try to compile it says 'T' : undeclared identifier and use of class template requires template argument list , pointing to the same line, where I have implemented the method out() . Can anyone please explain what the problem is?? I'm using visual studio 2008.

  • asp.net ajax progress counter

    - by xt_20
    Hi all, I have a small C# ASP.NET app, and want to include an Ajax progress counter. The architecture is currently like this: Web Application -- calls a class that does the upload For example, in default.aspx, I call : FileHelper fh = new FileHelper() fh.MoveFiles(file) I have an Ajax control that fires when the above is called. This is a control that resides on the website class/project. How do I update the progress counter from the Filehelper class? (I don't think calling the control directly would work as it would be a circular reference) Also how do I continuously update the counter? Thanks all

  • def constrainedMatchPair(firstMatch,secondMatch,length):

    - by smart
    matches of a key string in a target string, where one of the elements of the key string is replaced by a different element. For example, if we want to match ATGC against ATGACATGCACAAGTATGCAT, we know there is an exact match starting at 5 and a second one starting at 15. However, there is another match starting at 0, in which the element A is substituted for C in the key, that is we match ATGC against the target. Similarly, the key ATTA matches this target starting at 0, if we allow a substitution of G for the second T in the key string. consider the following steps. First, break the key string into two parts (where one of the parts could be an empty string). Let's call them key1 and key2. For each part, use your function from Problem 2 to find the starting points of possible matches, that is, invoke starts1 = subStringMatchExact(target,key1) and starts2 = subStringMatchExact(target,key2) The result of these two invocations should be two tuples, each indicating the starting points of matches of the two parts (key1 and key2) of the key string in the target. For example, if we consider the key ATGC, we could consider matching A and GC against a target, like ATGACATGCA (in which case we would get as locations of matches for A the tuple (0, 3, 5, 9) and as locations of matches for GC the tuple (7,). Of course, we would want to search over all possible choices of substrings with a missing element: the empty string and TGC; A and GC; AT and C; and ATG and the empty string. Note that we can use your solution for Problem 2 to find these values. Once we have the locations of starting points for matches of the two substrings, we need to decide which combinations of a match from the first substring and a match of the second substring are correct. There is an easy test for this. Suppose that the index for the starting point of the match of the first substring is n (which would be an element of starts1), and that the length of the first substring is m. Then if k is an element of starts2, denoting the index of the starting point of a match of the second substring, there is a valid match with one substitution starting at n, if n+m+1 = k, since this means that the second substring match starts one element beyond the end of the first substring. finally the question is Write a function, called constrainedMatchPair which takes three arguments: a tuple representing starting points for the first substring, a tuple representing starting points for the second substring, and the length of the first substring. The function should return a tuple of all members (call it n) of the first tuple for which there is an element in the second tuple (call it k) such that n+m+1 = k, where m is the length of the first substring.

  • How to mock WCF Web Services with Rhino Mocks.

    - by Will
    How do I test a class that utilizes proxy clients generated by a Web Service Reference? I would like to mock the client, but the generated client interface doesn't contain the close method, which is required to properly terminate the proxy. If I don't use the interface, but instead a concrete reference, I get access to the close method but loose the ability to mock the proxy. I'm trying to test a class similar to this: public class ServiceAdapter : IServiceAdapter, IDisposable { // ILoggingServiceClient is generated via a Web Service reference private readonly ILoggingServiceClient _loggingServiceClient; public ServiceAdapter() : this(new LoggingServiceClient()) {} internal ServiceAdapter(ILoggingServiceClient loggingServiceClient) { _loggingServiceClient = loggingServiceClient; } public void LogSomething(string msg) { _loggingServiceClient.LogSomething(msg); } public void Dispose() { // this doesn't compile, because ILoggingServiceClient doesn't contain Close(), // yet Close is required to properly terminate the WCF client _loggingServiceClient.Close(); } }

    I created classes: public class Country { public long CountryId {get;set;} public string CountryName {get;set;} } public class Profile { public long ProfileId {get;set;} public string ProfileName {get;set;} public Country Country {get;set;} } and configuration for Profile: public class ProfileConfiguration : EntityConfiguration<Profile> { public IlluminatiCoreProfileConfiguration() { Relation(p => p.Country); } } Then I create context and run context.CreateDatabase(). New database contains table Profiles with column Country_CountryId. How can I write configuration for changing column name to "CountryId"? Thanks.

  • hasErrors with indexed property

    - by Micor
    I am having hard time getting hasErrors to work with indexed properties. For example class Order { String prop1 String prop2 static hasMany = [items: Item] } class Item { String name static constraints = { name(blank:false) } } Validation works properly and on item.name being blank I do get an error with <g:renderErrors bean="${orderInstance}"/> However, I am trying to have input box highlighted using hasErrors : <g:each in="${orderIntsance.items}" status="i" var="item"> <span class="field ${hasErrors(bean: orderInstance, field: ????????? , 'errors')}"> <g:textField name="items[${i}].name" value="${item?.name}"/> </span> </g:each> Not sure how to get to it with a field: property, any ideas? Thanks

  • c#, Internal, and Reflection

    - by cyberconte
    Duplicate of: Accessing internal members via System.Reflection? Is there a way to execute "internal" code via reflection? Here is an example program: using System; using System.Reflection; namespace ReflectionInternalTest { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Assembly asm = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(); // Call normally new TestClass(); // Call with Reflection asm.CreateInstance("ReflectionInternalTest.TestClass", false, BindingFlags.Default | BindingFlags.CreateInstance, null, null, null, null); // Pause Console.ReadLine(); } } class TestClass { internal TestClass() { Console.WriteLine("Test class instantiated"); } } } Creating a testclass normally works perfectly, however when i try to create an instance via reflection, I get a missingMethodException error saying it can't find the Constructor (which is what would happen if you tried calling it from outside the assembly). Is this impossible, or is there some workaround i can do?

  • fortran error I/O

    - by jpcgandre
    I get this error when compiling: forrtl: severe (256): unformatted I/O to unit open for formatted transfers, unit 27, file C:\Abaqus_JOBS\w.txt The error occurs in the beginning of the analysis. At the start, the file w.txt is created but is empty. The error may be related to the fact that I want to read from an empty file. My code is: OPEN(27, FILE = "C:/Abaqus_JOBS/w.txt", status = "UNKNOWN") READ(27, *, iostat=stat) w IF (stat .NE. 0) CALL del_file(27, stat) SUBROUTINE del_file(uFile, stat) IMPLICIT NONE INTEGER uFile, stat C If the unit is not open, stat will be non-zero CLOSE(unit=uFile, status='delete', iostat=stat) END SUBROUTINE Ref: Close multiple files If you agree with my opion about the cause of the error, is there a way to solve it? Thanks

Here is the code snippit: class Deck { Card[] cards; public Deck (int n) { cards = new Card[n]; } } why isn't the this. command used? for example why isn't the code this: class Deck { Card[[] cards; public Deck (int n) { this.cards = new Card[n]; } }

  • Where is BuildConfig.DEBUG?

    - by Ollie C
    My project doesn't seem to be aware of this new constant that's apparently auto-generated in Android Tools r17 builds: "Added a feature that allows you to run some code only in debug mode. Builds now generate a class called BuildConfig containing a DEBUG constant that is automatically set according to your build type. You can check the (BuildConfig.DEBUG) constant in your code to run debug-only functions such as outputting debug logs." I've confirmed that this class is not being auto-generated anywhere in my project by the new tools. I deleted all project outputs (including all gen folders) and rebuilt, and only R.java classes are being generated. Why are the tools not generating the BuildConfig class? It may be relevant that I'm using IntelliJ.

  • Working with the Objective-C/Cocoa flat namespace

    - by Stephen Blinkhorn
    I've not found anything that addresses my specific name space question as yet. I am working on some AudioUnit plug-ins featuring Cocoa based GUIs. The plug-ins use a common library of user interface classes (sliders, buttons etc) which are simply added to each Xcode project. When I recompile and distribute updates it is pretty much guaranteed that at least one user interface class will have been updated since the last release. If the user launches an older plug-in before an updated plug-in then the old Cocoa classes are already loaded into the run time and the plug-in attempts to use the older implementations - often resulting in a failure one way or another. I know frameworks are the intended solution but the overhead and backwards compatibility issues are not ideal. I prefix all class names where possible but what options do I have to ensure that each plug-in contains unique class names for the shared user interface classes?

  • PHP Doxygen Collaboration Diagrams

    - by Shabbyrobe
    I've started playing around with doxygen to generate documentation from my PHP code. I notice there are two diagrams in the generated output - inheritance and collaboration. I know about the inheritance one, but the collaboration one has piqued my interest since reading the manual: If the COLLABORATION_GRAPH and HAVE_DOT tags are set to YES then doxygen will generate a graph for each documented class showing the direct and indirect implementation dependencies (inheritance, containment, and class references variables) of the class with other documented classes. The impression I get from that description is that composition relationships should be represented by the collaboration diagram as well, but it always seems to just be identical to the inheritance one. Is there something I can do to hint to Doxygen the things I would like to appear in this diagram? Does it just not work with PHP?

  • Hibernate/JPA - annotating bean methods vs fields

    - by Benju
    I have a simple question about usage of Hibernate. I keep seeing people using JPA annotations in one of two ways by annotating the fields of a class and also by annotating the get method on the corresponding beans. My question is as follows: Is there a difference between annotating fields and bean methods with JPA annoations such as @Id. example: @Entity public class User { **@ID** private int id; public int getId(){ return this.id; } public void setId(int id){ this.id=id; } } -----------OR----------- @Entity public class User { private int id; **@ID** public int getId(){ return this.id; } public void setId(int id){ this.id=id; } }

  • C# listbox,params

    - by Oyeme
    As Andrew Hare suggested in his answer: Create a field to store all the ListBox instances and then change the constructor to accept an arbitrary number of them: by I tried the following class scaner { readonly IEnumerable<ListBox> listBoxes; public IEnumerable<ListBox> ListBoxes { get { return this.listBoxes; } } public scaner(params ListBox[] listBoxes) { this.listBoxes = listBoxes; } } This will allow you to do this: scaner Comp = new scaner(listBox1, listBox2); How can i access listbox1? In class scaner i'm trying to call this.listBoxes. (I need to call the listbox1 in scaner class.How can i do/call it? Thanks for answers.

  • Java hashcode based on identity

    - by hjfreyer
    The default behavior of Object.hashCode() is to return essentially the "address" of the object so that a.hashCode() == b.hashCode() if and only if a == b. How can I get this behavior in a user-defined class if a superclass already defines hashCode()? For instance: class A { public int hashCode() { return 0; } } class B extends A { public int hashCode() { // Now I want to return a unique hashcode for each object. // In pythonic terms, it'd look something like: return Object.hashCode(this); } } Ideas?

  • SortList duplicated key, but it shouldn't

    - by Luca
    I have a class which implements IList interface. I requires a "sorted view" of this list, but without modifying it (I cannot sort directly the IList class). These view shall be updated when the original list is modified, keeping items sorted. So, I've introduced a SortList creation method which create a SortList which has a comparer for the specific object contained in the original list. Here is the snippet of code: public class MyList<T> : ICollection, IList<T> { ... public SortedList CreateSortView(string property) { try { Lock(); SortListView sortView; if (mSortListViews.ContainsKey(property) == false) { // Create sorted view sortView = new SortListView(property, Count); mSortListViews.Add(property, sortView); foreach (T item in Items) sortView.Add(item); } else sortView = mSortListViews[property]; sortView.ReferenceCount++; return (sortView); } finally { Unlock(); } } public void DeleteSortView(string property) { try { Lock(); // Unreference sorted view mSortListViews[property].ReferenceCount--; // Remove sorted view if (mSortListViews[property].ReferenceCount == 0) mSortListViews.Remove(property); } finally { Unlock(); } } protected class SortListView : SortedList { /// <summary> /// /// </summary> /// <param name="property"></param> /// <param name="capacity"></param> public SortListView(string property, int capacity) : base(new GenericPropertyComparer(typeof(T).GetProperty(property, BindingFlags.Instance | BindingFlags.Public)), capacity) { } /// <summary> /// Reference count. /// </summary> public int ReferenceCount = 0; /// <summary> /// /// </summary> /// <param name="item"></param> public void Add(T item) { Add(item, item); } /// <summary> /// /// </summary> /// <param name="item"></param> public void Remove(T item) { // Base implementation base.Remove(item); } /// <summary> /// Compare object on a generic property. /// </summary> class GenericPropertyComparer : IComparer { #region Constructors /// <summary> /// Construct a GenericPropertyComparer specifying the property to compare. /// </summary> /// <param name="property"> /// A <see cref="PropertyInfo"/> which specify the property to be compared. /// </param> /// <remarks> /// The <paramref name="property"/> parameter imply that the compared objects have the specified property. The property /// must be readable, and its type must implement the IComparable interface. /// </remarks> public GenericPropertyComparer(PropertyInfo property) { if (property == null) throw new ArgumentException("property doesn't specify a valid property"); if (property.CanRead == false) throw new ArgumentException("property specify a write-only property"); if (property.PropertyType.GetInterface("IComparable") == null) throw new ArgumentException("property type doesn't IComparable"); mSortingProperty = property; } #endregion #region IComparer Implementation public int Compare(object x, object y) { IComparable propX = (IComparable)mSortingProperty.GetValue(x, null); IComparable propY = (IComparable)mSortingProperty.GetValue(y, null); return (propX.CompareTo(propY)); } /// <summary> /// Sorting property. /// </summary> private PropertyInfo mSortingProperty = null; #endregion } } /// <summary> /// Sorted views of this ReactList. /// </summary> private Dictionary<string, SortListView> mSortListViews = new Dictionary<string, SortListView>(); } Practically, class users request to create a SortListView specifying the name of property which determine the sorting, and using the reflection each SortListView defined a IComparer which keep sorted the items. Whenever an item is added or removed from the original list, every created SortListView will be updated with the same operation. This seems good at first chance, but it creates me problems since it give me the following exception when adding items to the SortList: System.ArgumentException: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: 'PowerShell_ISE [C:\Windows\sysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell_ISE.exe]' Key being added: 'PowerShell_ISE [C:\Windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell_ISE.exe]' As you can see from the exception message, thrown by SortedListView.Add(object), the string representation of the key (the list item object) is different (note the path of the executable). Why SortList give me that exception? To solve this I tried to implement a GetHashCode implementation for the underlying object, but without success: public override int GetHashCode() { return ( base.GetHashCode() ^ mApplicationName.GetHashCode() ^ mApplicationPath.GetHashCode() ^ mCommandLine.GetHashCode() ^ mWorkingDirectory.GetHashCode() ); }

  • How to specify a different column for a @Inheritance JPA annotation

    - by Cue
    @Entity @Inheritance(strategy = InheritanceType.JOINED) public class Foo @Entity @Inheritance(strategy = InheritanceType.JOINED) public class BarFoo extends Foo mysql> desc foo; +---------------+-------------+ | Field | Type | +---------------+-------------+ | id | int | +---------------+-------------+ mysql> desc barfoo; +---------------+-------------+ | Field | Type | +---------------+-------------+ | id | int | | foo_id | int | | bar_id | int | +---------------+-------------+ mysql> desc bar; +---------------+-------------+ | Field | Type | +---------------+-------------+ | id | int | +---------------+-------------+ Is it possible to specify column barfo.foo_id as the joined column? Are you allowed to specify barfoo.id as BarFoo's @Id since you are overriding the getter/seeter of class Foo? I understand the schematics behind this relationship (or at least I think I do) and I'm ok with them. The reason I want an explicit id field for BarFoo is exactly because I want to avoid using a joined key (foo _id, bar _id) when querying for BarFoo(s) or when used in a "stronger" constraint. (as Ruben put it)

  • Is it possible to group validation?

    - by lambdabutz
    I am using a lot of my own validation methods to compare the data from one association to the other. I've noticed that I'm constantly checking that my associations aren't nil before trying to call anything on them, but I am also validating their presence, and so I feel that my nil checks are redundant. Here's an example: class House < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :enterance, :class => Door has_one :exit, :class => Door validates_presence_of :enterance, :exit validate :not_a_fire_hazard def not_a_fire_hazard if enterance && exit && enterance.location != exit.location errors.add_to_base('If there is a fire you will most likely die') return false end end end I feel like I am repeating myself by checking the existence of enterance and exit within my own validation. Is there a more "The Rails Way" to do this?
