  • Adding an assembly to the GAC

    Somehow my GAC got messed up, System.Core.dll was unregistered or something. I don't have the win7 sdk so I can't just use gacutil. Is there some way I can add the single assembly to the gac? Or some way to download JUST gacutil? Is the GAC stored in the registry? If so, where? Thanks for the help, this is a pretty ugly bug.

  • Can I right-click a folder in Windows 7 and choose "Open with Sublime Text"?

    In Windows 7, I can do this at the command line: "c:\Program Files\Sublime Text 2\sublime_text.exe" samplefolder This launches a Sublime Text window, with the contents of samplefolder loaded in Sublime's sidebar. While this works as needed, it's inconvenient to open a command prompt every single time. Is there any way I can add this behavior to Windows Explorer's right-click menu? I'd like to be able to right-click a folder and "Open with Sublime" just like I can right-click a folder and "Scan for viruses".

    Besides the 2 ways by using email or putting the PDF on a website (but it is a trouble to go to page 180 by repeated scrolling), is there an easy way to transfer the .PDF, .mobi, .epub to iPad to read, preferably to Kindle or iBooks on the iPad, so that we can add notes or hightlight or bookmark the pages?     How can I setup an nginx proxy_pass directive that will also include HTTP Basic authentication information sent to the proxy host? This is an example of the URL I need to proxy to: http://username:[email protected]/export?uuid=1234567890 The end goal is to allow 1 server present files from another server (the one we're proxying to) without exposing the URI of the proxy server. Of course, all of my history, bookmarks and 6 saved passwords are gone Yesterday, I installed LassPass add-on, and only import Firefox saved password When I open Firefox, goto Facebook, all of my 6 password are appeared So, my question is, when I select Forget about this site, did Firefox remove my passwords completely?

  • Folder Aliases in Dock or List View cannot be expanded?

    I have been increasingly frustrated with the fact that you cannot expand a folder alias in the Finder "List View" via the "expand triangle" or in the dock. If I add a folder to the dock that contains folders and aliases to other folders, I can drill-down the "real" folders, but cannot on the aliases. Does anyone know a way to make this work?

    In many Windows programs when I open a file, the GUI dialogue that starts with "Look in:" and provides a list of directories and files to open has a thin panel on the left-hand side with the following 5 icons: Recent Places Desktop Libraries Computer Network Is there a Registry Hack available for adding my own icons to this? I wish to add three for various folders related to the work that I do, and I haven't been able to find a way to customize this. Thanks in advance.

  • How to record a "macro" that saves web pages as PDF in OSX

    I frequently save pages as PDF from Chrome on OSX. The page is apple-P then click the PDF button and the "Save as PDF.." menu item. I always use the pre-filled filename and save in the default directory. Is it possible to save this as an automator script? If that is possible I woulld sure like to add this as a button on Chrome somewhere so I can just "save this for reading later" Thanks for any help.

  • XP, how can I copy permissions from one partition to another, had no permssions and getting access denied trying to fix ?

    For some reason, I'm not sure why, I have no permissions in the security tab/advanced tab for one partition. I'm trying to add them back by copying them manually from another partition. However when I try to replace permissions entries on some files it says access denied, then I have to click continue. I haven't much clue what this is all about, but I'd like to fix this as some folders in my partition aren't accessible in shares from other machines.

When I double click to install a reg file I get this warning: Adding information can unintentionally change or delete values and cause components to stop working correctly. If you do not trust the source of this information in myFile.reg, do not add it to the registry. Is there any way to get rid of it and from the approval message after?

I tried Windows Media Player but it is bit a hard to synchronize all of the text with the song time.   • Pushing WiFi configuration through Active Directory

    I'm trying to push wifi settings to client computers through Active Directory, something that will add a defaul SSID to connect to and a WPA password. The only thing I've heard of is a script by Aruba labs called wificfg_xp.exe on a couple of forums (Here and here), but the link to the download page is always broken. Does any one know of an alternative way to download this file, or another way to push these settings with AD?
