  Hi, Currently I am working on a project integrating google docs to my application using php. However, there is only version1 for the php and I am not well-versed with REST web service. And I am required to create folder using the api. I wonder any people manage/know how to do it? Below is the protocol for the creation of the folder. • Repurpose builtin Word commands - access original command within repurposed function

  It is possible to repurpose a Word builtin command in Word 2007 using the customUI.xml file. Example: <customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2009/07/customui"> <commands> <command idMso="Save" onAction="MySave"/> </commands> </customUI> I then have to define a callback function in VBA which is used instead of the builtin function: 'Callback for Save onAction Sub MySave(control As IRibbonControl, ByRef cancelDefault) someFancyPreparationFunction oldSaveFunction ' Where, how? someOtherFancyAfterWorkFunction End Sub And here is my problem, if I want to reuse internal functionality in my repurposed Function, I don't know how to access it. My example is trivial and the save could be easily rebuilt by a call to ThisDocument.save but as I said, it is just an example to show the problem. A call to CommandBars.ExecuteMso('Save') would call my repurposed function and not the original one. Any ideas on how to access the internal functionality after repurposing would be very appreciated!

• How to make some simple GUI controls?

  I need to make a DirectX or OpenGL app and i will need a custom GUI for that. I think a button, a input text box, a list box (that will need a scroll bar as there will be more items that can fit on the screen) and a slider control will be enough. I know about CeGUI framework but i just don't like it, way too many XML files for my taste. My question is where should i start in learning how to do this custom GUI controls, are there any tutorial available or any material that could get me started? I haven't done a GUI contol myself before.

  i have searched for calendar libraries and i have found TimeSquare calender on this site https://github.com/square/android-times-square ive downloaded the file and add made an import for the folder in ecilipse and everithing worked fine then i have exported with gradle and imported in android studio and everything worked fine.THE problem is that i want to use this calender in an app i'm developping so i have added folder library as a module and synced with grade but when i define <com.squareup.timessquare.CalendarPickerView android:id="@+id/calendar_view" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" /> just in xml and run the app it crashes on setcontentview and i cannot make anything in plus can somebody tell me how to use this library correctly.

  I have a vs2008 GAT package that has been updated to work on vs2010 which walks a developer through creating a custom solution complete with a Service layer project, Domain, usercontrol, and unit test project. I'd like to add a new ItemTemplate to the package to create a user control or dialog that adheres to our current practices. So far it seems I need a Recipe, but I can not find any reference for the GuidancePackage.xml file and how to properly add things to it, let alone how to add a new Item Template or guidance steps and decisions. • BufferedReader ready method in a while loop to determine EOF?

  I have a large file (wikipedia english arcticles only database as xml file) I am using to read one character at a time using BufferedReader. The psuedo code is: file = BufferedReader... while (file.ready()) character = file.read() is this actually valid? Or will ready just return false when it is waiting for the HDD to return data and not actually when the EOF has been reached? I tried to use if (file.read() == -1) but seemed to run into an infinite loop that I literally could not find. I am just wondering if it is reading the whole file as my statistics say 444 380 wikipedia pages have been read but I thought there were many more articles..

  I have created a login.jsp with some login username and password. Users are categorized into A and B. Then I have to redirect each user according to the user category. I also need to retrieve the username in the next page. • Best means to store data locally when offline

  I am in the midst of writing a small program (more to experiment with vs 2010 than anything else) Despite being an experiment it has some practical use for our local athletics club. My thought was to access the DB (currently online) to download the current members and store locally on a laptop (this is a MS sql table, used to power the club's website). take the laptop to the event (yes there ARE places that don't have internet coverage), add members to that days race (also a row from a sql table (though no changes would be made to this), record results (new records in 3rd table) Once home, showered and within internet access again, upload/edit the tables as per the race results/member changes etc. So I was thinking i'd do something like write xml files locally with the data, including a field to indicate changes etc? If anyone can point me in a direction i would appreciate it...hell if anyone could tell me if this has a name, I'd appreciate it.

  I've been stuck with the math in a Flash project? It's a loose design pattern my director formulated. My goal is to keep the project object oriented, and get 'non Flash obstacles' off my plate. Do you recommend using parsing engines for processing math? XML values going to AS3, updating a changing acceleration formula. I don't hate math, but it just doesn't seem OOP or good project planning to have the math stuck in Flash. Your comments are welcome.

  I'm starting to delve into using Spring DM and OSGi services in an RCP application. I've created a service which is used by another bundle in the RCP application. It does a lookup of the service via calls to getBundleContext().getServiceReference() using the explicit bundle names and service class names. I'm not using DI anywhere yet. The issue I'm running into is that the service that is returned in the requesting bundle is a singleton. At times I notice a threading issue since it is a "stateful" service. How do I configure the application to get back a new service instance with each call? • Special characters incongruence

  Hello I'm building a Spring MVC web application that runs on Tomcat 6.0.20 and JDK 1.6.0_19. When I send some special characters through an HTML form some of them are stored as question marks ? For example these symbols are stored correctly: €, á, é, í, ‰, etc But some symbols are replaced with ? like: £, ?, ? MySQL tables charset is utf-8. My jsp also use utf-8 <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %> I have included org.springframework.web.filter.CharacterEncodingFilter in web.xml as suggested here When I debug the POST request when sending 3 characters €a£ with firebug I get: %E2%82%ACa%E2%82%A4 which is correct since E2 82 AC is the code for € and E2 82 A4 is the code for £ but £ is stored as ? in the database. When I save £ directly into the database it is displayed correctly in the webpage. How can I fix this?

• Network message serialization for game

  Exit-games make a network library product called photon, and they have and actively develop a limited mmo demo. Rather than shooting off json or XML, etc. saying "MovePlayer" (with associated params), they nut that message down to a 2 digit int, via an enum - something like Operations.MovePlayer. There's no denying that a 2 digit int is smaller than a longer string, however I really hate the idea of statically burning each and every message into an enum. Would there be an alternative way to have a MessageID property assign itself a unique 2 digit int based on a lookup table or something? Has anyone dealt with this kind of thing before?

  I have a semi xml formatted file that contains line with the following format: <param name="Distance" value="1000Km" /> The first char in the string is usually a TAB or spaces. I've been using the following to try to parse the two strings out (from name and value): if(sscanf(lineread, "\t<param name=\"%s\" value=\"%s\" />", name, value) == 1) { //do something } name and value are char* Now, the result is always the same: name gets parse (I need to remove the quotes) and name is always empty. • Is it possible to dither a gradient drawable?

  I'm using the following drawable: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <shape xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:shape="rectangle" > <gradient android:startColor="@color/content_background_gradient_start" android:endColor="@color/content_background_gradient_end" android:angle="270" /> </shape> The problem is that I get severe banding on hdpi devices (like the Nexus One and Droid) since the gradient goes from the top of the screen to the very bottom. According to http://idunnolol.com/android/drawables.html#shape_gradient there isn't a "dither" attribute for a gradient. Is there anything I can do to smooth the gradient?

  I am using UrlRewriteFilter to redirect to SSL. I am running Glassfishv2. My rule looks something like this now. It's in my urlrewrite.xml in WEB-INF of my war folder. Is there any other glassfish setting that needs to be set? <rule> <condition name="host" operator="notequal">https://abc.def.com</condition> <condition name="host" operator="notequal">^$</condition> <from>^/(.*)</from> <to type="permanent-redirect" last="true">https://abc.def.com/ghi/$1</to> </rule> But FF keeps saying that the URL redirect rule is in a way that it will never complete. I am not exactly sure whats happening here. any ideas?

• Get/save parameters to an expected JMock method call?

  Hi, I want to test an "Adapter" object that when it receives an xml message, it digest it to a Message object, puts message ID + CorrelationID both with timestamps and forwards it to a Client object.=20 A message can be correlated to a previous one (e.g. m2.correlationID =3D m1.ID). I mock the Client, and check that Adapter successfully calls "client.forwardMessage(m)" twice with first message with null correlationID, and a second with a not-null correlationID. However, I would like to precisely test that the correlationIDs are set correctly, by grabing the IDs (e.g. m1.ID). But I couldn't find anyway to do so. There is a jira about adding the feature, but no one commented and it is unassigned. Is this really unimplemented? I read about the alternative of redesigning the Adapter to use an IdGenerator object, which I can stub, but I think there will be too many objects.=20 Don't you think it adds unnecessary complexity to split objects to a so fine granularity?   Did you use teamviewer? (comic question i know... Who doesn't use it?) Do you have any idea how does teamviewer make connection even if i am behind the router, firewall, switch and my local firewall..? I'm trying to imagine a connection that is between remote machinge and my computer. Remote machine is sending the packets (and its header (for instance, destination IP, message body)) to me but it only knows my id number(which is given by my local teamviewer application). And this packets are reaching to my computer even if there is a juniper firewall (and also my windows firewall). What kind a message body is recieving by computer? (of course it is not like xml, text, html, excel :) Do you have any idea? PS. Please share your knowledge like you are explaining to beginner level user.

• Is Classic ADO still viable for a mixed managed/unmanaged App?

  We have a complex architecture with much logic in unmanaged code that needs database access. Currently this is via ODBC drivers and MFC classes and we're considering the issues of migrating our abstraction layer to use ADO or ADO.Net. In the latter case we'd have to be pushing database logic back up into the .Net layer. I'm trying to decide if the pain of invoking the database via .Net callbacks is offset by the improvements in ADO.Net. The Wikipedia comparison was interesting although I'm not sure I believe all the points in the comparison table (eg: does ADO.Net always use XML to pass data?). A 2005 comparison shows ADO.Net performing dramatically faster. Microsoft's guide to ADO.Net for ADO programmers suggests we will gain much from going to ADO.Net especially the way that data is available in native (.Net) types rather than solely through OLEAutomation's Variant.
