• How to get rid of the 'progress' cursor?

  I have an interval that launches an AJAX call to check if there is any update for the page (I imagine that it's similar to the mechanism used by Facebook or StackExchange to check for new notifications). The problem is that this call changes the cursor to the 'progress' or 'busy' cursor (visual problem) and disables to option to click on links (functional problem). I suppose both problems are related. How can get rid of this effect or at least minimize the consequences? • $().buttonset not working on dialog modal box JQUERY

  Hello everyone! I've done a dialog box that contains a form inside it, and I would like to add some jquery fancy items to it. I've been trying with $().buttonset() as I've done with most of my radio buttons in the application, in order to get a coherent IU for my application. The thing is that, even if following the rules specified, the buttons remain as a normal radio button, and not with the fancy interface. Do you know what could be the problem? This is the part of the form where I want the fancy radio buttons: <div id ="Replace"> <input type="radio" name="Replace" value = "true" id = "ReplaceYes" onclick = "setReplace(this)" /> <label for="ReplaceYes">Yes</label> <input type="radio" name="Replace" value = "false" checked="checked" id = "ReplaceNo" onclick = "setReplace(this)" /> <label for="ReplaceNo">No</label> </div> And then, as the previous part of code is in a partial view, invoked when showing the modal box, this is how I try to convert the buttons appearance: $("#Replace").buttonset(); The thing is that, debugging it I've seen that it goes through that part of the code, but it doesn't do what it's meant to do. • HTML 5 drag-drop into wysiwyg editor in Firefox

  I have a wysiwyg editor using the HTML 5 drag-drop api to allow the user to place widgets within the page they are editing. When the OnDrop event fires, I prevent the default event, and insert some html within the editor that represents the widget they inserted. I use execCommand("inserthtml", false, html) for this in Firefox. This works fine in IE, but in Firefox the html is not placed in the location where it was dropped. It always gets placed in the location where the previous selection was, which leads me to believe that cancelling the OnDrop event to override the default drop also cancels the selection change. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks!

• Use JS to add characters into textfield

  I want to add a $ symbol before a users entry into a text field without actually submitting the $ when the user clicks submit. Additionally, I need to prohibit the user from entering anything but numerical values in to the text input. I know about the JQuery input mask (http://www.conetrees.com/2009/03/blog/jquery-masked-input-plugin-increase-usability-for-masked-format-input-fields) but this plugin requires you to set the exact number of digits/letters that the user is supposed to enter, which is no good for my current project. Can anyone think of a way to accomplish what I have described above?

  I have an html page, which is a dynamically created asp/aspx page on http://host2.mydomain.com. I have no control over the html page. I cannot modify it in any such way. I cannot modify this page; so, setting document.domain is out of the question, unfortunately. I want to retrieve and display this page on http://host1.mydomain.com/page1.jsp using Ajax. FYI: host1 is being served by IIS 7 and Apache Tomcat (for JSP pages). And host2 is using IIS 7 and ASP. How can I retrieve this page using a Ajax POST request? Thank you.

  I'm writing some terrible, terrible code, and I need a way to put a free() in the middle of a statement. The actual code is: int main(){ return printf("%s", isPalindrome(fgets(malloc(1000), 1000, stdin))?"Yes!\n":"No!\n") >= 0; // leak 1000 bytes of memory } I was using alloca(), but I can't be sure that will actually work on my target computer. My problem is that free returns void, so my code has this error message: error: void value not ignored as it ought to be The obvious idea I had was: int myfree(char *p){ free(p); return 0; } Which is nice in that it makes the code even more unreadable, but I'd prefer not to add another function. I also briefly tried treating free() as a function pointer, but I don't know if that would work, and I don't know enough about C to do it properly. Note: I know this is a terrible idea. Don't try this at home kids.

• Debugging Post Request with Chrome Dev Tools

  I am trying to use Chrome Dev for debugging the following Angular post request : $http.post("http://picjboss.puma.lan:8880/fluxpousse/api/flow/createOrUpdateHeader", flowHeader) After running the statement with right-click / evaluate, I can see the post in the network panel with a pending state. How can I get the result or "commit" the request and leave easily this "pending" state from the dev console ? I am not yet very familiar with JS callbacks, some code is expected. Thanks. • Relative Dates with Datejs

  I have a requirement where in, I have to parse the dates relative to a date object returned from the server side. But the datejs library always considers only the browsers date object. The situation is something like this: The server gives back the date in PST and the browser is in IST. And all the inputs are getting parsed with respect to the current date in IST instead of current date in PST. Is there any way I could resolve this. Or could you suggest any workarounds.   I'm new to jQuery, and I'm totally struggling with using jQuery UI's sortable. I'm trying to put together a page to facilitate grouping and ordering of items. My page has a list of groups, and each group contains a list of items. I want to allow users to be able to do the following: 1. Reorder the groups 2. Reorder the items within the groups 3. Move the items between the groups The first two requirements are no problem. I'm able to sort them just fine. The problem comes in with the third requirement. I just can't connect those lists to each other. Some code might help. I tried using the connectWith option for sortable to make it work, but I failed spectacularly. What I'd like to do is have the every groupItemsX list connected to every groupItemsX list but itself. How should I do that?

  I'm trying to change the background colour of the <body> depending on what tab specific is active. When a tab is active, a class called 'st_view_active' is added onto the tab content.   Hi, i have this cropper in my app. login: fer password: m Note: after loginning you will be redirected to another page. Then click again the link i mention. I can see it working in FF, but not in IE7/8 (Windows XP SP2, just installed). It's supposed it works ok, because I don't have any problems to operate the demo in both browsers, and in IE 8 Developer Tools the all the .js's necessary appeared as loaded. I have contacted with the developer of the cropper but he didn't reply. Any idea? Javi
