  I've been using Subversion for a few years and after using SourceSafe, I just love Subversion. Combined with TortoiseSVN, I can't really imagine how it could be any better. Yet there's a growing number of developers claiming that Subversion has problems and that we should be moving to the new breed of distributed version control systems, such as Git. Can anyone explain how Git improves upon Subversion?

  Is there a way to use a skin file in a theme only when a certain browser is used? The theme stays the same, I just want skin A to apply when a certain browser is used, and skin B when another browser is used. I know I can have server-side code to check and then set the SkinId of the control to either or, but is there another, more global way? Thanks

  When I drag and drop between datagrids preventing default behaviour, the cursor's does not come out of the grid. The grid's scroll bars keep moving as i move the mouse..   A client is opening our website into a popup window using JavaScript with window.open. They are turning off scrollbars and making the window a fixed height, causing the pages to not be scrollable. I control the code of the website being loaded this way, but not the calling JavaScript. Is there any way I can force the display of scrollbars?

  In "traditional" ASP.NET (Web Forms), the UpdatePanel control lets you do a partial refresh of a part of a page. You don't need to write much code to hook this up. What's the equivalent in ASP.NET MVC? I'm guessing I'd need to use a partial view for the bit that I want to update, then on the client side retrieve that HTML and pump it into the innerHtml of the correct DIV? A tutorial/example would be helpful...
