• How can I capture the keystroke that triggers "CellEndEdit" on a DataGridView in C#?

  I have a DataGridView that is set to EditOnF2. I do some special processing of data in the CellEndEdit eventhandler that sets the value of the cell. I still want the functionality of the EditOnKeystrokeOrF2 of reverting to the original value when the Esc key is pressed. Unfortunately, at the CellEndEdit eventhandler, I don't see a way to tell what caused the CellEndEdit event to be fired. I only want to change the value of the cell if the Esc key is not pressed. How can I tell if it was or not? Edit: It is worth noting that the KeyDown event does not get fired when the cell is being edited, nor for the final ending keystroke. Edit2: I have tried the KeyPreview suggestion, but the form still does not capture the Escape key being pressed. Edit3: I've been experimenting with trying to get this working. I originally posted some of the following as a separate post, but feel it might be more relevant to include it here. I have a cell in a DataGridView that is now set to EditProgrammatically. To capture the keystroke that starts an edit, I am setting the cell.Value equal to the keystroke. However, this ruins the "Escape" functionality of the cell - when you press escape, instead of reverting to the original value, it reverts to the keystroke that I programmatically inserted into the cell. I believe that if I could set the "EditedFormattedValue" on a cell, this would be where I want to put my keystroke value, however this appears to be read only. How can I accomplish what I am attempting? An example to clarify: If the cell has a value of "54.3" in it, and I press the "9" key, it begins editing the cell and places a "9" there. If I hit Escape, instead of reverting to "54.3" it reverts to "9". What I want is for it to return to its original value of "54.3". So, I am trying to tackle this issue from both the beginning and the end. I think the real problem is that I am overwriting the original value and have no way to determine if I should revert it or not. Edit4: It looks like CellValidating might be worth using, but I am seeing strange behavior when I experiment with it. In a new project, I create the DataGridView and register for the various events and see that CellValidating is fired before the CellEndEdit. However, in my project where I am trying to get this to work, CellEndEdit is firing BEFORE CellValidating. Any ideas on what the difference might be?

• iPhone noob - setting NSMutableDictionary entry inside Singleton?

  Yet another iPhone/Objective-C noob question. I'm using a singleton to store app state information. I'm including the singleton in a Utilities class that holds it (and eventually other stuff). • iPhone reachability checking

  I've found several examples of code to do what I want (check for reachability), but none of it seems to be exact enough to be of use to me. I can't figure out why this doesn't want to play nice. I have the reachability.h/m in my project, I'm doing #import <SystemConfiguration/SystemConfiguration.h> And I have the framework added. I also have: #import "Reachability.h" at the top of the .m in which I'm trying to use the reachability. I'm an alright coder, I just have a hard time when it comes time to figure out what needs to be put where to enable what I want to do, regardless if I want to know what I want to do or not. (So frustrating) Update: This is what's going on. This is in my viewcontroller, which I have the #import <SystemConfiguration/SystemConfiguration.h> and #import "Reachability.h" set up with. This is my least favorite part of programming by far. FWIW, we never ended up implementing this in our code. The two features that required internet access (entering the sweepstakes, and buying the dvd), were not main features. Nothing else required internet access. Instead of adding more code, we just set the background of both internet views to a notice telling the users they must be connected to the internet to use this feature. It was in theme with the rest of the application's interface, and was done well/tastefully. They said nothing about it during the approval process, however we did get a personal phone call to verify that we were giving away items that actually pertained to the movie. According to their usually vague agreement, you aren't allowed to have sweepstakes otherwise. I would also think this adheres more strictly to their "only use things if you absolutely need them" ideaology as well. Here's the iTunes link to the application, EvoScanner.

• How can I get Hudson to be able to access JUnit?

  I've got Hudson running on TOMCAT, it can build my Netbeans project using the ant build.xml, but it won't run any of my unit tests because of what I assume is a problem with the classpath: package org.junit does not exist [javac] import org.junit.After; [javac] ^ But I've got the junit-4.8.1.jar on the classpath in /etc/environment and I can successfuly run the junit tests from a console using java org.junit.runner.JUnitCore org.junit.tests.AllTests My CLASSPATH is set to /home/bedwyr/junit4.8.1/junit-4.8.1.jar:. Am I going wrong somewhere or is there anything else I need to set? [edit] What I did was to export/include (using the ide) all libraries (including Junit) hudson then reads all it needs from the subversion repo. I then ran into an issue with exposing hudson to the internet, and pretty soon gave up on tomcat on ubuntu server (again, to do with the tomcat security manager) - glassfish is a lot smoother and that's where I am now - apache front end with ajp_proxy to hudson on glassfish.

• Update panel in Tab Container

  I have a tab container with 5 tabs, each tab contains an update panel. When the user initially opens the form, they can only see the first Tab, the others are set to visible=false. Once they have completed the first form, the hit save which sends a partial postback to save the data to the DB. Once that is saved, I then want to set all the other tabs to visible, however this does not work at the moment, I am assuming because the tab container is not contained in an update panel. How can I get this to work, do I need to put the tab container in it's own update panel, which will obviously then contain all the other update panels, or should I not use an update panel in the first tab and do a full page postback?

  I have a form with a panel. I create frames at runtime and display them on the panel by setting frame's parent property to the panel. When creating panels I do not set the owner property because i manage myself the lifetime of the frame. Until now i got no problem. Next I put an TActionList on the frame with some shortcuts on the actions. I found that my actions did not execute until I set the owner property of the frame to the panel. Can someone can explain me that ? I thought that owner property was just about wich component is responsible to free the children components, and not responsible to forward key events.

  I have to generate some update statements based off a table in our database. I created the following script which is generating the update statements I need. But when I try to run those scripts I am getting errors pertaining to unescaped single quotes in the content and &B, &T characters which have special meaning in oracle. I took care of the &B and &T problem by setting SET DEFINE OFF. Whats the best way to escape single quotes within the content?   Hi, I have a Listview that looks like the following: checkbox:textview {0 .. n} I have a OnCheckChangedListener that listens for checkbox changes (checkbox has focusable set to false as recommended by http://www.mousetech.com/blog/?p=74). The behaviour that I am looking for is that users can click the checkbox to set its state, and they can click on the listview item to get a description. Currently, checkbox state is saved properly and if you click on an item, then it shows a description. However, if you first change a state and then click to get the description, the checkbox reverts to a prior state. In fact all checkboxes revert back to a prior state. Anyone know how i can get this working? Thanks.

However that would be potentially storing millions of usernames in memory which doesn't seem right. Anyone have a better way? I'm using python streaming by the way thanks

• How can I avoid properties being reset at design-time in tightly bound user controls?

Then, I have my MainForm, which has UserControl 'B' on it. Each time I do a build or run, the Text property of UserControl 'A' is reset to its default value. I suppose this is because since I am doing a rebuild, it rebuilds both UserControl 'A' and 'B', thus causing the problem. How can I go about a better approach to design pattern to avoid this type of behavior when working with tightly bound controls and forms in a application?

• Trouble using genericra to integrate activemq and glassfish when using failover protocol

  Hi, I'm attempting to use activemq in glassfish using the genericra resource adapter provided with glassfish 2.1. I have found a few pages with helpful information including http://activemq.apache.org/sjsas-with-genericjmsra.html. I have actually had success and been able to get MDBs to use activemq as their JMS provider, but I'm running into an issue as I'm trying to do some more complicated configuration. I want to set up a master-slave configuration, which would require my clients to use a brokerURL of failover:(tcp://broker1:61616,tcp://broker2:61616). In order to do this, I set the following property when calling asadmin create-resource-adapter-config (I have to escape '=' and ':'): ConnectionFactoryProperties=brokerURL\=failover\:(tcp\://127.0.0.1\:61616,tcp://127.0.0.1\:61617) However, I am now getting a StringIndexOutOfBoundsException when my application starts up. I suspect the comma in between the two URLs is the culprit, since this works fine: brokerURL\=failover\:(tcp\://127.0.0.1\:61616) Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this issue before. Also wondering if there is a better way to integrate with glassfish than using the generic resource adapter.

(NOT JUST the events for which event listeners have been set, but to somehow step through a list of all VALID EVENTS for which event listeners may POTENTIALLY be set -- I realize that such lists are readily available online, and that's great for cases when I know the object's type at design type, but I require some way to inspect any given displayobject programmatically at runtime, and determine what events, if any, are or may be associated with it.)

• Eclipse antRunner command line build has wrong dependency build order

  My team's Eclipse RCP app builds fine from the Eclipse IDE. When I try to build it from the command line, using the antRunner application, it builds the plugins out of order -- a plugin builds before it's dependencies are built, and so can't resolve some of the needed classes. Where should I look to fix this? As far as I can tell, the dependencies are set up correctly (a feature that depends on a plugin that depends on another plugin). I have my build.properties and folder structure set up as specified here. Is there anything else I should look at?

  Hi All, Been scratching my head for too long on this: Using jquery.form, (http://malsup.com/jquery/form) with PHP ... my $_FILES['someimage'] gets set but the error number is always UPLOAD_ERR_NO_FILE, size is also 0. The JavaScript: $('form input[type=file]').change(function(){ $(this).clone().appendTo('#imgform'); $('#imgform').ajaxForm(); $('#imgform').ajaxSubmit( { type:'POST' } ); }); Which appends to: <form id="imgform" method="POST" action="/api/images.php" enctype="multipart/form-data"></form> From another form which has bog-standard file inputs. PHP logs are clean, but var_dumping $_FILES always shows that the index is set to the name of the form element ... but no data. Thanks guys! I was trying to use LINQ to find the relevant set for me but it is returning an empty set on me.   I have been trying to get TTTabItem to work with images. And I dug up that you can set the icon to an image file.
