I have sent a request from both iphone and android platform to nginx server nginx/0.7.67 + Phusion Passenger 2.2.15 with this code in ruby:
log_format main '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] "$request" '
'$status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" '
'"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for"';
but when I check on /conf/nginx.conf file I didn't see any log appears. However when I request from computer browser, I can see the log in nginx.conf file.
Any one has met this problem and please give me some suggestions? Thank you.
Is there anyway of using facebook connect within an iPad or iPhone application.
The idea would be to sign into this App and then be able to see which of my facebook user's also use the app and its features.
I'm just getting started with Mac and iPhone development, and naturally my first step is to change the color theme. I've found a theme I like here, but I can't find the folder they reference in my ~/Library/Application Support/ folder. How can I install these files?
Thanks!
I'm in the process of learning C++. But there's so much more that I want to do online - web apps, iphone apps, websites.
So I'm thinking of learning another language, one that would allow me to make (or at least attempt to make) useful applications.
Now, what language should I look into learning? And, how do you recommend I go about learning it?
Coming from a .NET background I'm use to reusing string variables for storage, so is the code below likely to cause a memory leak? The code is targeting OS X on the iphone/itouch so no automatic GC.
-(NSString*) stringExample
{
NSString *result = @"example";
result = [result stringByAppendingString:@" test"]; // where does "example" go?
return result;
}
What confuses me is an NSStrings are immutable, but you can reuse an 'immutable' variable with no problem.
For the iPad, iPhone, iTouch app that talk to remote web service by making NSURLConnection calls, is there a way for the remote service to tell what kind of device that the call is made from?
in my app the user saves data in archive using core data and sqllite.
1. is there a way letting him the option to back up his data and restoring it in the future?
2. does the user info is backed up with the iphone regular back up?
thanks
shani
Image says it all really. The debugger is stopped on the line immediately after this, inside the if statement.
What is going on here?
EDIT: this is debugging on device on an iPhone. I'm going to try the simulator and see if the same problem occurs.
I am given a task to R& D ebay api. As i have tried to explore on net i still have no clear idea that how and why to use it in my apps. Also are there many ebay api's for different purposes? Any sample code available using this api in objective c for iPhone. Any doc available providing general info about it.
Hi guys,
I wanted to know whether we can implement both date and time picker in one view...
In iphone app you can pick both date and time through one view. But in android we have date picker and time picker seperately. So, is there any method by which i can get values of both date and time from one view???
I'm implementing a distributed application, server with rails and mobile clients in objective c (iPhone). To enable internationalization, I use the rails plugin 'globalize2' by joshmh.
However, it turned out that this plugin does not translate attributes when calling to_xml or to_json on an ActiveRecord. Does anyone know of a workaround / patch? Do you have any ideas how to fix this, where to alter globalize2?
Using:
Rails 2.3.5
globalize2: commit from 2010-01-11
When trying to compile an infinite while loop in xcode iphone view based application, it gives me an error that reads expected identifier or '(' before 'while'. I made it as simple as possible.
#import "Lockerz_NotifierViewController.h"
@implementation Lockerz_NotifierViewController
while (1=1)
{
NSLog(@"Hello? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!");
}
I am need to parse a pdf file. I would like to use objective-c and Cocoa classes to do so, but I need the resulting application to run on Linux. Is this possible? My experience to Objective-C revolves around the iPhone so I'm relatively new to Cocoa. Thanks.
So I've spent a lot of time making an iPhone game and have recently realized that I don't have to limit myself to just Apple - I know there are app stores for Palm and Android, but does anybody know of a good "app store" for the plain old PC? I would like to have one where individual developers can publish an app and not have to worry about all the billing and piracy issues!
i m developing a little tool on my Pocket PC using WM6 SDK but i would like to implement a finger friendly user interface (iphone-like).
So i m looking for a free .NET framework that offers the possibility to easily integrate a finger friendly interface for Windows Mobile 6 Pro .
Any ideas ?
EDIT : Finger friendly means big icons, big buttons , scrollable screens with a simple touch of the thumb... Because the Winforms in Compact framework are made for the stylus, not fingers !!
I am writing an application for iPhone and had some questions regarding eula :-
If I do not include any disclaimer/ eula in my app, then would Apple's standard EULA
http://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/appstore/dev/stdeula/
automatically apply to my app ?
If I include a small disclaimer inside my application (as a popup on initial screen), then would Apple's EULA still cover my app ?
I tried downloading few apps on my ipad and did not see Apple's standard EULA. So, where can I actually see the EULA before downloading something ?
Hey all,
I'm trying to have the following tag toggle between a "-" and the checkmark character (✓)
<a id='p_4' class='fancy_button orange bls_button' href='#'>-</a>
And here's the jquery code:
if (button.text() == '-') {
button.html('✓'); }
This works in FF3.6 and IE8, but not in WebKit (Chrome or iPhone safari).
Is there something I'm doing wrong, or does webkit just not like .html("✓")
Thanks,
Sam
I am interested in learning Objective C so I can develop for the iPhone and Mac. I am a web developer with lots of experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP, but I have no knowledge at all of C or Objective C. What is the fastest and easiest way for me to learn Objective C? Can you recommend any good resources for getting started?
