  • Organizing single page code well with Notepad++

    - by Hudson
I've a c# file that will contain, most likely 10,000+ lines of code. I'd like to break this file into tabbed segments, so I can organize each method into a certain tab and label the tab something like : initial setup, helper functions, execution logic, list structures, global variables, etc. If I were using PHP I would have separate files and use include(); to include the separate files. What can be done, following the same style, with c#?

  • Research topics for starting and optimizing a high-traffic website

    - by user745434
I bury a good deal of my ideas for fear that I don't know enough about scaling web applications and high-traffic websites. That said, I'd like to know of any general topics to research in order to ensure that your web app doesn't break / slow down when you start getting to Twitter-level traffic. I'm looking for research topics with, preferably, additional resources. For example: Make sure you optimize SQL queries (see High Performance MySQL Optimization)

  • How do I get rid of this monitor error?

    - by Dave M G
I have an Nvidia card and two monitors. Every time I log in to Unity on Ubuntu 11.10, I get this error: "Could not apply the stored configuration for monitors" I have tried opening nvidia-settings, but none of my experimental alterations to any of the settings has made a difference. I can still use my computer, but it seems to break the themes, icons, and styles so my computer looks like Unix circa 1992, which is a pretty annoying. How do I kill this error?

  • How do I split a texture into differently shaped pieces with libgdx?

    - by VictorB
I want to split a texture into variously shaped pieces with libgdx, like the pieces of a puzzle game. TextureRegion.split() is not an option, as it splits into equally sized rectangular texture regions. The "Similar Questions" section here is helpful (particularly this question How do I break an image into 6 or 8 pieces of different shapes?), but I'm not sure yet if it's possible to implement the solution with libgdx. Any pointers?

  • Why is there a /etc/init.d/mysql file on this Slackware machine? How could it have gotten there?

    - by jasonspiro
A client of my IT-consulting service owns a web-development shop. He's been having problems with a Slackware 12.0 server running MySQL 5.0.67. Their home directory was /root. I've pasted a copy at http://www.pastebin.ca/2167496. My question: Why is there a /etc/init.d/mysql file on this Slackware machine? How could it have gotten there? P.S. This question is far from perfect. Please feel free to edit it.

  • Nginx: Rewrite rule for subfolder

    - by gryzzly
Hello, I have a subdomain where I want to keep projects I am working on, in order to show these projects to clients. Here is the configuraion file from /etc/nginx/sites-available/projects: server { listen 80; server_name projects.example.com; access_log /var/log/nginx/projects.example.com.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/projects.example.com.error.log; location / { root /var/www/projects; index index.html index.htm index.php; } location /example2.com { root /var/www/projects/example2.com; auth_basic "Stealth mode"; auth_basic_user_file /var/www/projects/example2.com/htpasswd; } location /example3.com/ { index index.php; if (-f $request_filename) { break; } if (!-f $request_filename) { rewrite ^/example3\.com/(.*)$ /example3\.com/index.php?id=$1 last; break; } } location ~ \.php { root /var/www/mprojects; fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params; } } I want to be able to place different php engines (wordpress, getsimple etc.) in subfolders. These engines have different querry parameters (id, q, url etc.) so in order to make preety URLs work I have to make a rewrite. However, above doesn't work. This is the response I get: Warning: Unknown: Filename cannot be empty in Unknown on line 0 Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0 If I take out "location /example3.com/" rule, then everything works but with no preety URLs. Please help. The configuration is based on this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2119736/cakephp-in-a-subdirectory-using-nginx-rewrite-rules I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and nginx/0.7.62 with php-fpm.
