    Hi, I have installed tomcat as service successfully. when i start this from control Panel- administrative tools - services, it tows error like this, The Apache Tomcat 4.1 service on local computer started and then stopped. Some service stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the performance logs and alerts sevice. Wat is the error?

My nginx file in sites-available for the domain looks like: server { access_log /home/www/domain1.com/log/access.log; error_log /home/www/domain1.com/log/error.log; } Trying to start nginx it says: starting nginx: the config file /etc/nginx/nginx/conf syntax is ok [emrg] open() ".../access.log" failed (2: no such file or directory) Is this a permission issue?

  • Cannot kill firefox in OSX 10.6

    I tried killing Firefox 3.5 from OSX command line using "kill -9 pid", and the process was still running mini-2:~ prompt$ ps -ef | grep firefox 501 15087 183 0 0:00.00 ?? 0:00.00 (firefox-bin) After this, I could not start firefox (as it said Firefox is already running) nor can I kill firefox (again). What is going on? How can I fix this (besides logging of or restarting my machine) ?

    I can't start amavis. It gives an error: Starting amavisd: Error in config file "/etc/amavis/conf.d/05-domain_id": Insecure directory in $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch at /etc/amavis/conf.d/05-domain_id line 7. On line 7 is: chomp($mydomain = `head -n 1 /etc/mailname`); This problem occured after restaring my computer. I don't know much about amavis, so any help is appreciated. Regards, Kristian

  • Automatically start VNC server on startup

    I installed the Ubuntu desktop on a Ubuntu 9.10 VPS server and am able to connect to the server using TightVNC. However, the VNC server on this VPS can only be started by logging in through SSH and typing the following command: vncserver :1 -geometry 800x600 -depth 16 -pixelformat rgb565 If I run this command on startup or as a schedule task, it won't start.     One of my computers doesn't boot up or at least nothing appears on my screen (not even the bios). It still makes some noise and the lights stay on, but not any beeping like I have heard computer make when start up fails. Before this happened my screen would occasionally have a strange image appear than crash (usually around startup). It would also sometimes just freeze without the image appearing. Any suggestions for how I can attempt to identify the problem?

    Suddenly Chrome browser does not start, my Windows 7 x64 is complaining: The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you’re running. Check your computer’s system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher. Reinstalling did not help. The things that changed and I have noticed are system updates and Java update. Any ideas, what to do to resolve the issue or troubleshoot it?

    Hi, I have installed emule on Windows 7. When I start emule, I will receive a message "failed to create Incoming Files directory 'C:\Program Files\eMule\Incoming' - Access is denied", similar message for "C:\Program Files\eMule\Temp" and "Failed to initialize cryptokeys - secure ident disabled". It looks like Windows 7 does not allow emule to make such operation. How can I give emule the right to do what it needs? Thanks!

    If the server is restarted, or even if fail2ban is stopped/start it sends a notification. [asterisk-iptables] enabled = true filter = asterisk action = iptables-allports[name=ASTERISK, protocol=all] sendmail-whois[name=ASTERISK, [email protected], [email protected]] logpath = /var/log/asterisk/messages maxretry = 5 bantime = 259200 Removing the sendmail-whois stops it, but it also stops the ban notifications, how can I get it to stop notifying me when the process starts/stops?
