  • Using PHP's $_COOKIE to create cookie.txt for cURL

    Hi, I'm running Drupal and Mediawiki on my server under the same domain. They are connected to each other with extensions/modules. Meaning if I log in to Mediawiki, it automatically logs into Drupal also. Mediawiki has some extensions that filter the information shown on the page. What I want to do is to show that filtered information from Mediawiki on my Drupal page. I'm trying to fetch the data with PHP cURL, but I'm not able to force it to use the login information. How can I convert PHP's $_COOKIE into cURL cookie.txt format? I suppose after that I'm able to fetch the data from Mediawiki with the right permissions.   • Quicktabs with AJAX Views

    I'm working in Drupal 7 with the quicktabs and views modules. I have a great looking tabbed set of tables filled with data. However, despite all the views having AJAX turned on, trying to do a column sort (or use the pager I imagine though currently there is not enough content to require one) causes the page to reload with a new URL instead of simply reloading the view in question. I found on Drupal some fixes for this problem but all seem to be in Drupal 6. Anyone have a patch for 7?

  • JavaScript/Dojo Module Pattern - how to debug?

    I'm working with Dojo and using the "Module Pattern" as described in Mastering Dojo. So far as I can see this pattern is a general, and widely used, JavaScript pattern. My question is: How do we debug our modules? So far I've not been able to persuade Firebug to show me the source of my module. Firebug seems to show only the dojo eval statement used to execute the factory method. Hence I'm not able to step through my module source. I've tried putting "debugger" statements in my module code, and Firebug seems to halt correctly, but does not show the source. Contrived example code below. This is just an example of sufficient complexity to make the need for debugging plausible, it's not intended to be useful code.   • Http Modules are called on every request when using mvc/routing module

    I am developing a http module that hooks into the FormsAuthentication Module through the Authenticate event. While debugging i noticed that the module (and all other modules registered) gets hit every single time the client requests a resource (also when it requests images, stylesheets, javascript files (etc.)). This happens both when running on a IIS 7 server in integrated pipeline mode, and debugging through the webdev server (in non- integrated pipeline mode) As i am developing a website with a lot images which usually wont be cached by the client browser it will hit the modules a lot of unnessecary times. I am using MVC and its routing mechanishm (System.Web.Routing.UrlRoutingModule). When creating a new website the runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests attribute for the IIS 7 (system.webServer) section is per default set to true in the web.config, which as the name indicates make it call all modules for every single request. If i set the runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests attribute to false, no modules will get called. It seems that the reason for this is because of the routing module or mvc (dont know excactly why), which causes that the asp.net (aspx) handler never gets called and therefore the events and the modules never gets called (one time only like supposed). I tested this by trying to call "mydomain.com/Default.aspx" instead of just "mydomain.com/" and correctly it calls the modules only once like it is supposed. How do i fix this so it only calls the modules once when the page is requested and not also when all other resources are requested ? Is there some way i can register that all requests should fire the asp.net (aspx) handler, except requests for specific filetype extensions ? Of course that wont fix the problem if i choose to go with urls like /content/images/myimage123 for the images (without the extension). But i cant think of any other way to fix it. Is there a better way to solve this problem ? I have tried to set up an ignoreRoute like this routes.IgnoreRoute("content/{*pathInfo}"); where the content folder contains all the images, javascripts and stylesheets in seperat subfolders, but it doesnt seem to change anything. I can see there a many different possibilites when setting up a handler but I cant seem to figure out how it should be possible to setup one that will make it possible to use the routing module and have urls like /blog/post123 and not call the modules when requesting images, javascripts and stylesheets (etc.). Hope anyone out there can help me ? Martin

  • Comparing Nginx+PHP-FPM to Apache-mod_php

    I'm running Drupal and trying to figure out the best stack to serve it. Apache + mod_php or Nginx + PHP-FPM I used ApacheBench (ab) and Siege to test both setups and I'm seeing Apache performing better. This surprises me a little bit since I've heard a lot of good things about Nginx + PHP-FPM. My current Nginx setup is something that is a bit out of the box, and the same goes for PHP-FPM What optimizations I can make to speed up the Nginx + PHP-FPM combo over Apache and mo_php ? In my tests using ab, Apache is outperforming Nginx significantly (higher requets/second and finishing tests much faster) I've googled around a bit, but since I've never using Nginx, PHP-FPM or FastCGI, I don't exactly know where to start PHP v5.2.13, Drupal v6, latest PHP-FPM and Nginx compiled from source.   • Site resolves fine without "www", "www" creates database error

    Working with BOA ( Barracuda / Octopus / Aegir ) , I've installed a few Drupal sites without any problems and following the same process for all. BOA is running on Nginx. All sites are going thru Cloudflare's network , where I set the same DNS settings. A example.com points to IPADDRESS A www points to IPADDRESS the nameservers of each domain are pointing to Cloudflare's respective nameservers. It all works , except for one site that works perfectly without "www" , but with "www" returns the typical database error if Drupal can't find the site's database. Site off-line The site is currently not available due to technical problems. Please try again later. Thank you for your understanding.   • PHP displays blank white page even with all error reporting enabled

    I am trying to debug a broken page in a Drupal application and am having a hard time getting PHP to spit anything useful out. I have the following set: error_reporting = E_ALL display_errors = On display_startup_errors = On log_errors = On error_log = /var/log/php/php_error.log I have a file showing me phpinfo() which confirms these variables are set correctly for the environment. I have increased memory_limit to 256M (which should be more than enough). Yet, the only indication I get is a status 500 code in the apache access log and a blank white page from PHP.     i know how to set variables and use subroutines with the nginx builtin perl module INSIDE a "server" directive but, what i need to do is to set/rewrite the current domain before ... let's say, we have a domain like admin.foobar.website.com i want that a request to foobar.othersite.com points to the first address ( obviously website.com and othersite.com are hosted on the same webserver running nginx :) ). For reasons i can't explain here, i can not use multiple server_name directive expressions, i have to do this before the server {} block, with perl or anyway possible. Thanks

  • Rsync over ssh: "ERROR: module is read only" suddenly appeared

    I've used from some time rsync/ssh to backup my shared host contents to my personal Synology NAS (212j for that matter), and it worked quite well. For information, I use a password-less ssh connection. 3 days ago, I updated my NAS software and since (or at least I believe it's since that), the backup won't work anymore. I get the following error on the host: rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes to socket [sender]: Broken pipe (32) ERROR: module is read only ..which I do not understand. beside that nothing changed that I know of in both source and destination that can be related to rsync or ssh, I did check a few things and all seems to be alright: I can still connect through ssh from the host to my NAS with the good user, so ssh stuff like keys haven't changed. I also have the correct file permissions on the NAS (I checked, and also tried to create files, directories, .. with the user used by rsync through ssh). I read here and there that the error means that I have to ensure that my rsyncd.conf have the right read only = no in it, but as far as I know, I never used rsyncd as well as I never configured anything for it and until now it worked like a charm.. I use the following command to do the backup: rsync -ab --recursive \ --files-from="$FILES_FROM" \ --backup-dir=backup_$SUFFIX \ --delete \ --filter='protect backup_*' \ $WDIRECTORY/ \ remote_backup:$REMOTE_BACKUP/ So I'm stuck and really can't figure out what happened. Edit: As suggested in comments, I also tried passing commands to ssh (but not from inside a ssh session), that worked as expected, and also tried a single rsync command, which didnt worked, failing just like the complete backup command.   • Placement of Variables in Puppet module

    Hi guys; I've got a puppet module to setup several Gigaspaces PU's. Each of these have quite a few variables to be placed within the configuration file templates. We're also using several different environments so these variables are repeated several times to contain the values for each environment. My question is where the best place to store these variables would be? A class of their own, an external .pp I import, or something other?

    I'm working on setting up Trac to use wsgi, and am running into trouble getting mod_wsgi working. I downloaded and installed mod_sgi.   • OpenAM Membership module does not notify admin of new inactive accounts

    I am using OpenAM to authenticate users and OpenDJ as the user directory. I have enabled the membership module that allows users to self register, but I have not found any way to notify the admin that a new account needs to be approved. This seems like something that would just be a matter of entering an admin email and configuring smtp, but I have not found anywhere to enter an email address to receive these notifications. Though I have been able to send "password reset" emails so smtp is working at least.

    I have created a simple Wix 3 Merge Module in VS 2005 ( .wxs ) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Wix xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/2006/wi"> <Module Id="TestMergeModule" Language="1033" Version="1.0.0.0"> <Package Id="ef2a568e-a8db-4213-a211-9261c26031aa" Manufacturer="Me" InstallerVersion="200" /> <Directory Id="TARGETDIR" Name="SourceDir"> <Directory Id="MergeRedirectFolder"> <Component Id="Test_ModuleComponent" Guid="{1081C5BC-106E-4b89-B14F-FFA71B0987E1}"> <File Id="Test" Name="$(var.Project.TargetFileName)" Source="$(var.Project.TargetPath)" DiskId="1" /> </Component> </Directory> </Directory> </Module> </Wix> And I have added the project "Project" as a reference to this Merge Module, however I continue to get this error Error 7 Undefined preprocessor variable '$(var.Project.TargetFileName)'. Any suggestions, I am sure I am just missing the obvious here.
