  • Zend Framework - applying order by on a nested query

    Hey guys This might be a very simple thing. Check out the normal sql query below (select * from shopping order by shopping_id desc limit 5) order by RAND() This query runs successfully in mysql - not sure if this is the right way of doing it - but it works. It gets the last 5 ids from shopping table and randomly orders them everytime I want to achieve this in Zend. I'm not sure how to execute the first part and then apply the RAND clause to the results - what I have below does not do that. $select = $this-select() -from(array('sh'='shopping')) -order('shopping_id desc') -limit(5) -order('RAND()');

  • Using Zend Framework and Doctrine with independend modular structures

    I've seen a lot of articles about integrating ZF and Doctrine. There is also a proposal for ZF here but they have always two possible structures. Either they put all models into one top level model directory or they put it into a module related model directory. application |-- Bootstrap.php |-- configs |-- controllers |-- models - EITHER HERE |-- modules | -- examplemodule | |-- controllers | |-- models - OR HERE | |-- views |-- views For our projects I see problems for either of the two options: 1. One directory: application/models - in a complex system after a short time there will be hundreds of files, over all when you have the table classes two (e.g. User.php and UserTable.php). 2. Module based model directories: application/modules/examplemodule/models - in many cases we use models in multiple modules at the same time. So the "User" is required e.g. in the modules "game", "administration", ... Is there a way to use some kind of sub directories under the top level directory "models" to get some grouping. It should be completely independent of the module structure. application |-- Bootstrap.php ... |-- models | -- user | |-- User.php | |-- Friend.php | |-- other user related models | -- game | |-- Game.php | |-- Score.php | |-- ... ... Any solution should support autoloading and the class generation from yaml files. Any ideas, links or solutions? Thanks!

    hello, I would like to leave the textbox via code. when user clicks in the textbox, and types in something , and then the user will click outside the textbox. on the screen there are just labels. only this one textbox is on the form. my problem is, that the textbox does not lost focus when I click everywhere on the screen. the texbox it still has the focus. this textbox is used to filter a list, built from labels. the complete story is: - I have no mainmenu on the screen, so the Sip icon is not visible - user clicks in the textbox, and i bring up the SIP, in the textbox.GotFocus event - user types in some letters, the list is filtered - if user clicks away, the SIP disappears (textbox.lostfocus), but the textbox still has the focus, I mean the cursor remains in the textbox - when user wants to type some other letters for filtering, it clicks in the textbox, but GotFocus does not fire how can I make the texbox to loose the focus?

    Hello, When I call the method findDependentRowset, the returning rowset contains all the rows in the dependent table, and not only the rowsets that matches the reference. Hoping someone could explain this, since I was of the assumption that findDependentRowset would only return rowset matching my 'rule'? I have the following DbTable Models: class Model_DbTable_Advertisement extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract { protected $_name = 'Advertisements'; protected $_primary = 'Id'; protected $_dependentTables = array ( 'Model_DbTable_Image', ); } class Model_DbTable_Image extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract { protected $_name = 'Images'; protected $_primary = 'Id'; protected $_referenceMap = array( 'Images' => array( 'column' => 'AdvertisementId', 'refColumn' => 'Id', 'refTableClass' => 'Model_DbTable_Advertisement', ) ); } Now when i execute the following: (Simplified for Question sake) $model = new Model_DbTable_Advertisement(); $rowSet = $model->fetchAll(); $row = $rowSet->current(); $dRow = $row->findDependentRowset('Model_DbTable_Image'); I would expect $dRow to only contain 'Images' that has the same advertisementId as $row, but instead i receive all rows in the Images table. If I could get the guestbook app to function, then I might be able to get a grip on what's going on. As it is, I seem to fix one problem only to find another round the next corner.

    Hello. My application is a product which will have reporting capabilities. The product, when in production, is expected to have several ad-hoc report defined by the end users. I am looking for a platform that can be tailored to harness the business entities and extend reporting capabilities (definition & execution) to the end user. Here are some constraints: From the usability standpoint, I like what MS Access reports offer. But of course it is not suitable for the target web application. However, it certainly is a source of inspiration usability wise. Cost is a constraint. So something recommended from open source world will be appreciated. Otherwise too I'd like to know. The product in question is somewhat 'generic' in nature. Mine is a ASP.Net platform.

    Yall: I have a simple question, it might be a simple configuration issue, but I have a Model defined, and when I try to access it from a controller it fails. The Model is in the model directory, and when I look at the quickstart app, it seems like this should work.     Hi Ok dealing with Partial Loops I want to do several things Perhaps pass in extra variables - seen it done like this echo $this-partialLoop('Loop.phtml', array('data' = $data, 'var1' = foo)); But this does not seem to work - I can not extra the data using $this-var $this-data-var or $data-var not sure how to access the data in the loop Sutotals for columns - need a way of resetting variables or passing in a default value - linked to the above I suppose ie $subtotal += rowTotal; In the view that calls the partial I would like to get access to the subtotal values generated so I can display these in another table below. Any help appreciated the docs on partialLoop seems incomplete. Ian

  • Zend Framework ErrorController not working on live site?

    My site is set up pretty much as per the Zend Quickstart guide. The default ErrorController works locally using MAMP. But now I've deployed it to my live site I get a blank page and a "500 Internal Server Error" according to FireBug when I go to an action that doesnt exist. On my local server I get a 404 and a nicely formatted error page. Any ideas anyone? I dont really know where to begin looking. I'm confused :/ Thanks.

    Hello, I'm trying to load a existing pdf file, and fill this with database information. Loading the file and everything is working, except for writing data to the loaded page. It doesn't write text to the loaded page. If I add a new page en use a foreach to apply drawing to all pages, all added pages are written, except for the loaded one.   • How do I reuse code in Zend Framework

    I am working on a web application which requires the user to login before they see or do anything. No part of this app should be accessible without being logged in. (Except of course, the login controller) Currently I am using sessions to handle the authentication and I have put code in each controller in the init() function to check if their session is valid. This was a temporary workaround, but it is redundant and inefficient. I would like my init() function to be similar to the following, but I am not sure how to achieve it: public function init() { // If user not logged in redirect to login controller $myLibrary = Zend_Library_MyLibrary(); $myLibrary->CheckAuth(); } So my question really has two parts: Where is the best place to store code that will be used in multiple controllers?     Let me start with the things that I did and how am I using some things to get results I have set up modular structure as: application/ /configs /layouts /models /modules /users /profile /frontend /backend /controllers /views .... I write a plugin that does addes changes with FrontController-setModuleControllerDirectoryName() FrontController-addModuleDirectory() and It is all good I have a changed all the directories according weather admin page is requested in the url or not (it is some thing like /admin/some/some) Let's say I have a single layout for anything that is related to Profile viewing , in this case the "Profile" module. The Profile layout is divided into three parts In the layout I was pulling out the Profile/PhotoController 's index action with a action() $this->action('index', 'photo', 'profile'); Then I have faced few issues 1. Can get passed Params inside the Photo Controller when calling ( profile/profile/index); 2. found out that helper Action() is evil cause it starts another dispatching loop =) --- and now I am thinking that my approach on plugging in controllers modules into layout also evil =). anyhow how Should I deal with plugging in some controllers (another module controllers) into the layout ?
