Hello. I have Microsoft Office 2003 installed, but no frontpage is installed. I don't know why not. It was an OEM installation.
Can anyone recommend an open source replacement?
Thanks.
Is it possible, using an iPhone, to:
Recieve an e-mail with a MS Word/Excel document attached to it? (It is, I know)
Open and edit the document (It is, with Documents to go/quick office)
Reply to the original e-mail, with the updated document attached to it?
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible, in Exchange server 2010, to disable a mailbox account, lets call it mailuser and if anyone sends a E-mail for [email protected] then it will send a mail back with some sort of standard "This E-mail is no longer in use. Please write to [email protected] instead" mail.
I know I can create an "out-of-office" reply from the users outlook, but it would be so much faster to do it within the exchange server.
Sincerely
Mestika
Hi,
My mother has some serious issues using Windows (viruses, spywares, and so on) and I seriously think about setting up Ubuntu as a replacement. (That would ease my "job" as well)
The only concern I have is, is there anything to edit .docx (or .xlsx, .pptx, ...) documents on Linux ? Last time I tried OpenOffice (was 3 years ago), it was only able to open "old" MS Office documents (.doc, .xls, ...).
Thank you very much for your answers !
When I try to open solver from inside excel 2010, I get the error message:
"Solver: An unexpected internal error occurred, or available memory was exhausted."
The only way I have been able to get Solver to work is by going to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Library\SOLVER\", and just opening the file called "SOLVER.xlam". If I open excel through that file, the program works fine.
Is there a way to solve this issue?
I know you can add custom Document Properties in Excel 2007.
see: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel/HA100475241033.aspx#5
But I thought there was a way to pull a value from a cell as a custom metadata property
without code. Maybe I'm searching for it with the wrong terminology. Maybe it has to be done as a Named Range. I know this can be done. Anyone know how?
Anybody aware of a piece of software which could do MS Office .doc to .pdf conversion for me?
I already tried OpenOffice but it appeared to be rather slow and resource-hungry for large documents.
I have Microsoft Project Professional 2003 installed (11.2.2005.1801.15, SP2).
I have been trying to open a MPP file created in a newer version so need the converter, which is part of SP3. But when I try to install the SP3 package (as downloaded from Microsoft's site) I get an error message box:
---------------------------
Project 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3)
---------------------------
The expected version of the product was not found on your system.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Project (and Office) are licensed and otherwise work correctly.
Any advice?
Does Word Viewer 2007 exists (with new Ribbon interface)?
I ask this because only thing I found so far is Word Viewer 2007 as a Viewer 2003 with compatibility packs (which looks like standad Office 2003), but that doesn't works very well for my documents.
Thanks
Whenever I try to click a message in Outlook 2003 or do "New Message" I get a Save As file window and the program stops responding.
This also happens when I try to open Word files.
I've tried rebooting and I've tried to go through the repair process on the Office install disk.
Hi,
My Office 2007 consistently crashes when I use it while connected to the VPN.
This happens even with local files.
When I try to paste stuff, it tries to connect to the printer (over VPN) and if I stop the process (which in itself blocks for about a minute), then Word 2007 is bound to crash a few seconds afterwords.
My VPN is Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient
Anyone knows what can be done with this problem?
I'm using Office 2007 on Windows Vista and occasionally, when copying from Word to Excel, or text from a website to Word, I will get the hour glass for 10 + seconds and sometimes for about a minute. It should just be simple text and I don't understand why it takes so long.
I am looking to move a file share (100 GB or so) from one domain/server to a new domain and server. I would like to do this with little to no downtime and if possible I would like to be able to map permissions from the groups/users in the current system to groups/users in the new domain.
A side question, a large number of the files in the system are office documents with hard links to the old file server. Any way to programmatically change all those links to the new file server?
We use a SharePoint 2007 site internally with Office 2010. Whenever I open a Word document to edit it, I get a prompt saying:
Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks
suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open the file.
I've been unable to find a reliable answer around the web. Some suggested using the Windows File Types dialog to remove the prompt on download option, but this dialog is not available in Windows 7.
By LOCKING the cells, and switching protection on will make whole file read-only .. But I want to make only few/selected cells as read-only .. that means, those cells cannot be edited anymore ..
Is there any facility as such pre-defined in MS-office ..
Please let me know if you aware of this feature ..
Hello,
I have a small office with 3 computers + my own laptop without any network between these computers.
I would like to see keyboard log of each worker computer from my laptop without disturbing my workers.
I should be able to see each keyboard log from my laptop (from GUI or e-mail message)
Also, is it possible to limit the logging?
For example I would not to see log of msn messenger, but I should see log of IE,Outlook etc...?
I am adding an Excel Worksheet object inside Word. Excel has a COM addin attached to it. Any idea how one can know whether Excel is running independently or as an embedded object?
The COM Addin attached to Excel loads when the embedded Excel object is activated (double-clicked) inside Word. I am looking for some kind of a property or a parameter in OnConnection(...) or other method that can tell the state of Excel object.
This is a trouble-some rather than an issue. I am searching for a free asp.net ribbon control and I have found this one: http://www.officewebui.com/
I can download the source code of the control. However, there is no sample asp.net project using that Ribbon control. I wonder if there is a sample project to show how to use that control in asp.net. That would be great if you share it.
Thanks in advance.
I like to setup a Server and Workstation sort of network in linux (like we have Domain Controller in windows) where all the desktops login where authenicated with server, how this can be done.
I prefer CENTOS 5.4 for server and FEDORA 12 for dektop
Thanks in advance
There is an existing app in MOSS, which allows to create polls for a call center, operators fill them out as they call targeted customers. Then this Web app outputs the results of this poll.
Is it possible to change the interface language of this existing web app? Operators don't understand English. If it's not about language packs, it would still be easier for me to embed new names and labels, rather than rewrite in a system I am not familiar with.
Also, is it possible to change the authentication type from Windows authentication to regular username/password check (username and password will be stored in DB or somewhere only for this site)
If it is possible, can you direct me to some kind of tutorial, help or manual which would show how to do it?
On MSDN it's written that language can't be changed, but I'm not sure whether it's about the Web app language.
Thank you.
Hi! I'm using OO 3.1 and would like to find any way to store my bibliography and OO native tool is rather uncomfortable and takes a lot time to put info.
So, I'm looking for any plug-in or tool to simplify this task
I am trying to automate a third-party Win32 application where I want to capture the graphics content of a particular window at defined time intervals. I am in the early phases of this, and I'm currently trying to use the Microsoft UI Automation API via C# to do most of the interaction between my client app and the external app. I can now get the external app to do what I want it to do, but now I want to capture the graphics from a specific window that seems to be some third-party owner-drawn control. How can I do this? The window I want to capture is the one marked by the red rectangle in this image:
I have an implementation that sort of works, but it's dependent on the external app's UI being on top, and that's not guaranteed for me, so I'd prefer to find something more general.
var p = Process.Start("c:\myapp.exe");
var mainForm = AutomationElement.FromHandle(p.MainWindowHandle);
// "workspace" below is the window whose content I want to capture.
var workspace = mainForm.FindFirst(TreeScope.Descendents,
new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.ClassNameProperty, "AfxFrameOrView70u"));
var rect = (Rect) workspace.GetCurrentPropertyValue(AutomationElement.BoundingRectangleProperty);
using (var bmp = new Bitmap((int)rect.Width, (int)rect.Height))
{
using (var g = Graphics.FromImage(bmp))
{
g.CopyFromScreen((int)rect.Left, (int)rect.Top, 0, 0, new Size((int)rect.Width, (int)rect.Height));
bmp.Save(@"c:\screenshot.png", ImageFormat.Png);
}
}
The above works well enough when the automated app is on top, but it just blindly copies the screen in the rectangle, so my code is at the mercy of whatever happens to be running on the machine and might cover my app's window.
I have read some suggestions to send the WM_PRINT message to the window. This question/answer from a few months back seemed promising, but when I use this code, I just get a white rectangle with none of my control's actual contents.
var prop = (int)workspace.GetCurrentPropertyValue(AutomationElement.NativeWindowHandleProperty);
var hwnd = new IntPtr(prop);
using ( var bmp2 = new Bitmap((int)rect.Width, (int)rect.Height))
{
using (Graphics g = Graphics.FromImage(bmp2))
{
g.FillRectangle(SystemBrushes.Control, 0, 0, (int)rect.Width, (int)rect.Height);
try
{
SendMessage(hwnd, WM_PRINT, g.GetHdc().ToInt32(), (int)(DrawingOptions.PRF_CHILDREN | DrawingOptions.PRF_CLIENT | DrawingOptions.PRF_OWNED));
}
finally
{
g.ReleaseHdc();
}
bmp2.Save(@"c:\screenshot.bmp");
}
}
So, first, is it even possible for me to reliably save a bitmap of a window's contents? If so, what is the best way, and what is wrong with my WM_PRINT with SendMessage attempt?
In any of micro soft tools such as word,we get a feature to select text in a rectangle manner.alt + right key selection.Is there anything as such in eclipse.It will be very useful
