  Foo *oFoo = [[[Foo alloc] init] autorelease]; This is how I was taught to program in Objective C, yet the CLang error checker complains that the initial value was never read. But oFoo is an object with properties. oFoo itself has no single value. The property values are what matter. oFoo.PropertyA = 1; oFoo.PropertyB = @"Hello, World." Should I just ignore this? Is this worth fixing? What is the fix, seeing that "initial value" is meaningless in my context?

  I just started learning Common Lisp a few days ago, and I'm trying to build a function that inserts a number into a tree. I'm getting an error, * - SYSTEM::%EXPAND-FORM: (CONS NIL LST) should be a lambda expression From googling around, it seems like this happens when you have too many sets of parenthesis, but after looking at this for an hour or so and changing things around, I can't figure out where I could be doing this. • Very simple Error handling with NServiceBus

  hey guys, here's a simple scenario NServiceBus Client/Server setup. The "Message" is a custom Class I wrote. The Client sends a request message. The Server receives the message, and the server does this: Bus.Reply(new UserDataResponseMessage { ID = Guid.NewGuid(), Response = users }); Then nothing. The Client never receives a response. Exception: By trawling through the log4net NServiceBus logs I find an exception, and it turns out that my customs class "users" is not marked as Serializable. Ok, how does one got about "throwing" or "handling" that kind of error? NServiceBus seems to promote the idea of not handling errors, but in this scenario its obvious to see some kind of "throw" would have saved a lot of time. How do I handle such exceptions, where do they occur, where do they go?

I search on the internet and the reason I found was: This was caused by how you created the objects, i.e. If you set the ID property explicitly. Removing ID assignment fixed it. But I didn't get it, what will I have to modify to get the code working?

• CouchDB crashes at startup when path to config file has space(s)

  I'm hoping to run CouchDB as a per-user Launch Agent on OS X. I'm using the coucdbx-core folder from the CouchDB Server.app as the base of my CouchDB deployment. I'd like each user to have their own couch instance (on a different port), necessitating separate config files for each instance. The logical place to put these files is in ~/Library/Application Support/ for each user. I can put the entire distribution in ~/Library/Application Support/my-app/coucdbx, and put the .ini at ~/Library/Application Support/my-app/local.ini. Starting couchdb as bin/couchdb -a ../local.ini (from ~/Library/Application Support/my-app/coucdbx) works great. But I'd like to save every user the ~50MB couchdbx and install the couchdbx-core in a shared location (e.g. within my app's .app bundle). • ExpressionEngine: {exp:query} producing error

  Hi. I have this code in place to pull some relation data from the database based on a ID of another weblog entry. The relationship custom field would not work for my situation. I have tested the SQL with MySQL and get no errors. But I get an error when I pull up the page. {exp:query sql="SELECT entry_id,field_id_16,field_id_19 FROM exp_weblog_data WHERE field_id_15='2' AND weblog_id='6'"} Also, I want to populate the “field_id_15” from the url. I have tried using the “segment_*” tag, but nothing. Maybe it is something else. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Josh

  I am getting OutOfMemoryError: java heap snippets of the method: { // step 1: I am creating a 2 dim array int totalCombination = (int) Math.pow(2.0, (double) vowelCount); here vowelCount > 10 // step2: initializing my array // step3: and using that array } My Question: each time this method is called, that array is getting created. Is it possible that the array is not getting released . In windows taskmanager i can see memory used by java is purely incremental. So it is not that at a point heap size is less, but memory is repetitively used and not released somehow. Please let me know if you need more detal. Please help to debug the error. Anuj

  I've been trying to solve this problem for a couple of hours but I can't seem to understand what's going on. I'm using Rails 3 beta, and want to seed some data to the database. However, when I try to seed some values through db:seed, I get this error: rake aborted! • Changing error message for datatype validation?

  Hey guys, I've a small question on ASP.NET MVC 2. I'm using Data Annotations on my Presentation Model and its model binder per default. But one step back, I want to do the most elementary thing: validation of the data type. Let's say I have an "int ID" on my model and want to edit the according entity in my view. If I enter something wrong like "foo", then I get a model error back, but the validation message is on English. I want to have this message in other languages, too. How can I do this? I remember that in MVC 1 I've written a custom model binder which checks the data types, but that's not what I want to do (at least not in MVC 2). Thus I hope there is a better way... This works great unless there are nulls in the dataset. I tried to compensate for the nulls, but the RDLC file generates an error message that it can't display the subreport.   My function test is added to two different .cpp-files and the functions are private to their respective files as shown below test1.cpp #include <iostream> using namespace std; void test() { cout << "test" << endl; } test2.cpp #include <iostream> using namespace std; void test() { cout << "test" << endl; } main.cpp #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { return 0; } During linking I get the error multiple definition of test() - but how is that possible, considering that the two files have their own private scope!? I could understand it if I included the function prototype in each .cpp-files' corresponding header, but there is no such thing in this example.

  Below is the beginning of a chunk of SPIM code: .data a: .space 20 b: .space 20 .text set_all: sw $ra,0($sp) li $t0,0 li $t1,10 ............ Unfortunately, the second array I declare ('b') causes the SPIM interpreter to spit out: spim: (parser) syntax error on line 3 of file spim.out b: .space 20 ^ Similar code works when I only have one array -- it seems to be the second that screws it up. I've prodded at it but can't figure out what it is about that statement that makes it break. Any thoughts? Thanks for any insight.

• error opening sql 2005 database in VS 2008

  When I created my database using sql server 2005, i was able to connect and view it in Visual Studio 2008. I then detached the database onto my flash drive. Brought it home to work in VS 2008 - that worked. finally when i detached it from home and brought back to work, it will not open. It is saying that this version of sql server is not compatible with another version. I forget the exact wording of the error, as it was lengthy. any help you guys and provide would be very helpful!
