  • How can I suspend \ resume the video caputre operation in v4l2 ?

    Hi, I use the v4l2 api for video capture and image applying image processing algo' on each frame. I wish to be able to suspend the video capture. I see that there are 2 options for ioctling (new verb, its gonna catch) the stream. VIDIOC_STREAMON, VIDIOC_STREAMOFF will start and stop the stream. Is there a way to suspend \ resume it? Is this even necessary, or can I just use the start and stop controls with no extra processing time spent on creating the stream all over again ? Thank you for your time, Itamar

  • Google Visualization API Geomap: How to handle marker click events?

I initially have the Google Visualization API Geomap on a world view (options['dataMode'] = 'regions') and I capture the 'regionClick' event when a country is clicked like so: google.visualization.events.addListener( geomap, 'regionClick', function (e) { var rowindex = data.getFilteredRows([{column: 0, value: e['region']}]); var location = data.getValue(rowindex[0], 3); location.href = "?ISO=" + e['region'] + "&Location=" + location; }); I then draw the map zoomed into the country in markers mode (options['dataMode'] = 'markers'). However, I can't seem to capture any events when the markers themselves are clicked. The documentation ( http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/geomap.html#Events ) only refers to 'select' and 'regionClick' events neither of which are fired in this case. (Tested using Chrome 9, and IE 8.) Has anybody had any success in doing this? Many thanks.

    I would like to make a program to capture video. What is the best way to capture video? I know C++ and I'm learning assembly. I found in my assembly book that I can get data from the video card. Would that be the best way? I know FRAPS hooks into programs, but I would like my program to take video of the entire screen. I would like something something fast, with low memory usage if possible. A requirement is that the program must be usable on other computers, despite dissimilar hardware.

    Hi, I have an app that loads an ajax form when a button is clicked. I then want to check a value in that ajax loaded form called "comment_content" so that I don't send an ajax request if the comment_content is empty. I can capture the form submission using the live method, however, I can't capture the form element because it needs an element. I was looking at livequery but was wondering if there is a more efficient way by using live or if that I shouldn't even bother?     Either I'm being really retarded here or its just the lack of sleep but why doesn't this work? If I use the "or" operator it works for each separate test but as soon as it change it to the "and" operator it stops working. I'm trying to test the password input of a form to see if its contains lowercase, uppercase and at least 1 number of symbol.     My primary concern is with the Java flavor, but I'd also appreciate information regarding others. Let's say you have a subpattern like this: (.*)(.*) Not very useful as is, but let's say these two capture groups (say, \1 and \2) are part of a bigger pattern that matches with backreferences to these groups, etc. So both are greedy, in that they try to capture as much as possible, only taking less when they have to. My question is: who's greedier? Does \1 get first priority, giving \2 its share only if it has to? What about: (.*)(.*)(.*) Let's assume that \1 does get first priority. Let's say it got too greedy, and then spit out a character. Who gets it first? Is it always \2 or can it be \3? Let's assume it's \2 that gets \1's rejection. If this still doesn't work, who spits out now? Does \2 spit to \3, or does \1 spit out another to \2 first?

    On Linux with the GNU toolchain, I know how to control exported symbols from a shared library with a version script (gcc -Wl,--version-script=symbols.map), but I would like to list exported symbols on the command line instead. IOW, I would like the equivalent of link /EXPORT:foo from the MS toolchain. Is it possible ? EDIT: My question may not be very clearn: if I have a library libfoo.so, and I want to only export libraries foo1 and foo2, I can go create a version script foo.linux as follows libfoo.so { global: foo1; foo2; local: *; } And do gcc -shared foo.c -Wl,--version-script=foo.linux -o libfoo.so -soname libfoo.so I would like to be able to do something like this instead: gcc -shared foo.c -Wl,--export-symbol=foo1 -Wl,--export-symbol=foo2 -o libfoo.so -soname libfoo.so

  • Memory leaks getting sub-images from video (cvGetSubRect)

    Hi, i'm trying to do video windowing that is: show all frames from a video and also some sub-image from each frame. This sub-image can change size and be taken from a different position of the original frame. So , the code i've written does basically this: cvQueryFrame to get a new image from the video Create a new IplImage (img) with sub-image dimensions ( window.height,window.width) Create a new Cvmat (mat) with sub-image dimensions ( window.height,window.width) CvGetSubRect(originalImage,mat,window) seizes the sub-image transform Mat (cvMat) to img (IplImage) using cvGetImage my problem is that for each frame i create new IplImage and cvMat which take a lot of memory and when i try to free the allocated memory I get a segmentation fault or in the case of the CvMat the allocated space does not get free (valgrind keeps telling me its definetly lost space). the following code does it: int main(void){ CvCapture* capture; CvRect window; CvMat * tmp; //window size window.x=0;window.y=0;window.height=100;window.width=100; IplImage * src=NULL,*bk=NULL,* sub=NULL; capture=cvCreateFileCapture( "somevideo.wmv"); while((src=cvQueryFrame(capture))!=NULL){ cvShowImage("common",src); //get sub-image sub=cvCreateImage(cvSize(window.height,window.width),8,3); tmp =cvCreateMat(window.height, window.width,CV_8UC1); cvGetSubRect(src, tmp , window); sub=cvGetImage(tmp, sub); cvShowImage("Window",sub); //free space if(bk!=NULL) cvReleaseImage(&bk); bk=sub; cvReleaseMat(&tmp); cvWaitKey(20); //window dimensions changes window.width++; window.height++; } } cvReleaseMat(&tmp); does not seem to have any effect on the total amount of lost memory, valgrind reports the same amount of "definetly lost" memory if i comment or uncomment this line. cvReleaseImage(&bk); produces a segmentation fault. notice i'm trying to free the previous sub-frame which i'm backing up in the bk variable. If i comment this line the program runs smoothly but with lots of memory leaks I really need to get rid of memory leaks, can anyone explain me how to correct this or even better how to correctly perform image windowing? I have a basic macro working, but I can't find a way to capture the command's output. Function MyTest( c1 ) MyTest = Shell("bash -c "" echo hello "" ") End Function The above always returns 0. Looking at the documentation of the Shell command, I don't think it actually returns STDOUT. How would I capture the output so that I can return it in my function? Thanks!

    I've got a FileUpload control in an ASP.NET web page which is used to upload a file, the contents of which (in a stream) are processed in the C# code behind and output on the page later, using HtmlEncode. But, some of this output is becoming mangled, specifically the symbol '£' is output as the Unicode FFFD REPLACEMENT CHARACTER. I've tracked this down to the input file, which is Windows 1252 ('ANSI') encoded. The question is, How do I determine whether the file is encoded as 1252 or UTF8? It could be either, and How do I convert it to UTF8 if it is in Windows 1252, preserving the symbol £ etc? I've looked online but cannot find a satisfactory answer.

  • OutputDebugString + DebugView = not tabs!

    I am dumping \t delimited data using using OutputDebugString and then use ex-Sysinternals DebugView to capture it. The problem is that all the data in DebugView appear to be space delimited, hence I need to perfrorm CTRL+H "\x20" "t" to replace spaces with the tabs before I can use it (I really need tab delimited data). Is there anyway to tell DebugView not to replace tabs with spaces? Or maybe there is a better tool available to capture output of the OutputDebugString function? Any ideas are very welcome!

    I'm developing a musical game, it's like a singstar but instead of singing, you have to play the recorder. It's called oFlute, and it's still in early development stage. In the game, I capture the microphone input, then run a simple FFT analysis and compare the results to typical recorder's frequencies, thus getting the played note. At the beginning, the audio library I was using was RtAudio, but I don't remember why I switched to PortAudio, which is what I'm currently using. The problem is that, from time to time, either it crashes randomly or stops capturing, like if there were no sound coming from the microphone. My question is, what's the best option to capture microphone input on Linux? I just need to open, read, and close a flow of bytes from the microphone. I've been reading this guide, and (un)surprisingly it says: I don't think that PortAudio is very good API for Unix-like operating systems. So, what do you recommend me?

Debug compiled and linked perfectly but when I compile the release version, it shows this: VImgPtr.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol @__security_check_cookie@4 VLibraryPtr.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "void __cdecl operator delete[](void *)" (??_V@YAXPAX@Z) D:\Source Code\VImgLib\Release-vc9u\VImgLib-vc9u.dll : fatal error LNK1120: 2 unresolved externals If I selected Multi-threaded (/MT) in "C/C++-Code Generation tab), it linked ok. The problem is only when I choose Multi-threaded DLL (/MD). I'm releasing a dll, so should be /MD right?

    Hi Experts, I had a Ribbon like custom control. I created an application using this control. These applications work fine until I change the system number format. They crashes if I change the system number format like below: Current Format = English (United State) Decimal symbol = ',' Digit group symbol = '.' When I run applications, they throw an exception "Input string not in Correct format". . Some other applications specify the Exception's message = "Input string '0,2,0,2' was not a correct format", so I think in Wpf ES's xaml files, we may declare some properties i.e Padding, Margin like "0,2,0,2" = that will cause errors with the system number format above. I have note that this error only occurs in Windows Vista, it does not occurs on Windows XP. I do not know why?   • How to step frames in a movie recorded by iPhone

    Is there a way to have my iPhone program step frame by frame through a movie recorded by the iPhone? What I want to do is have the user record a quicktime movie, then be able to step through the movie frame by frame. Alternately, I suppose if there was a way to extract every single frame from the movie to a jpg, then I could easily step through the pictures. Anyone know of a way to do this??? I suppose the third option (which might not get past Apple's store) is to capture the movie the way the old jailbroken apps did, which is somehow capture the pictures directly from the camera view????
