    I have a navcontainer with buttons in the container. I need to make a dropdown list for only one of the buttons. How would this be accomplished with CSS/HTML.   • CSS to Replace Table Layout for Forms

    I've looked at other questions and am unable to find the solution to this. Consider this image: I want to wrap divs and stack them vertically. The GREEN div would be a wrapper on a line. The BLUE div would contain an html label and maybe icon for a tooltip. The ORANGE div would contain some sort of entry (input, select, textarea). Several of these would be stacked vertically to make up a form. I am doing this now, but I have to specify a height for the container div and that really needs to change depending on the content - considering any entry could land there. Images and other stuff could land here, as well. I have a width set on the BLUE div and the ORANGE is float:left. How can I get rid of the height on divs and let that be determined by content? Is there a better way? Changing all to something else would be difficult and would prefer a way to style all elements or something. The problem is the height vertical alignment for various screen sizes....What would be the most common sleek looking solution to this issue?   • Making a Grid in an NSView

    I currently have an NSView that draws a grid pattern (essentially a guide of horizontal and vertical lines) with the idea being that a user can change the spacing of the grid and the color of the grid. The purpose of the grid is to act as a guideline for the user when lining up objects. Everything works just fine with one exception. When I resize the NSWindow by dragging the resize handle, if my grid spacing is particularly small (say 10 pixels). the drag resize becomes lethargic in nature. I can see where the inefficiency is coming in, drag-resizing the NSWindow is constantly calling the drawRect in this view as it resizes, and the closer the grid, the more calculations per pixel drag of the parent window. I was thinking of hiding the view on the resize of the window, but it doesn't feel as dynamic. I want the user experience to be very smooth without any perceived delay or flickering. Does anyone have any ideas on a better or more efficient method to drawing the grid? All help, as always, very much appreciated.

    Does the label tag work with radio buttons? If so, how do you use it? I have a form that displays like this: First Name: (text field) Hair Color: (color drop-down) Description: (text area) Salutation: (radio buttons for Mr., Mrs., Miss) I'd like to use the label tag for each label in the left column to define its connection to the appropriate control in the right column. But If I use a radio button, the spec seems to indicate that suddenly the actual "Salutation" label for the form control no longer belongs in the label tag, but rather the options "Mr., Mrs., etc." go in the label tag. I've always been a fan of accessibility and the semantic web, but this design doesn't make sense to me. The label tag explicitly declares labels. The option tag selection options. How do you declare a label on the actual label for a set of radio buttons?   • How to make a table, which is wider than screen size, scrollable and keep header row fixed?

    I've a table with 2 columns and each column is 800px wide. I want to show this table in 800x50 window. So there should be horizontal and vertical scrollbar to view complete table. While I've found few related solutions (this and this) on SO, they only work if table width is smaller than screen size. In my case screen size is 1200px and total table width is 1600px. How could I do this? i want to achieve something like this. EDIT Oops, I forgot to add one more requirement. Sorry. I want the header of the table to remain fixed while user scrolls table. EDIT2 I've tried below mentioned solutions to wrap in a div, but in this case vertical scrollbar doesn't show up. Please see this table with wrapper div.   • White space on top of flash movie within table cell

    I have a flash movie, height = 151px width = 228, this is placed within a table cell ( cellpadding = 0 cellspacing = 0 vertical-align = top), but when it displays within the explorer windows there is a white space about 20px above the flash movie.   • Installer Dialog comes up with Scroll bars on 800x480 resolution

    I am building an msi using WISE. The Dialogs appear fine when run on a 1280x800 resolution screen. But when I run the same msi on a 800x480 resolution screen, the installer dialog appears really huge and you cannot see the whole dialog on the screen.However, the dialog now comes up with a vertical and horizontal scrollbar allowing you to scroll and view it fully. Is there any property I need to set to adjust the installer dialog such that it appears properly on both higher and lower resolution screens?
