• Highlighting effect to text and/or image similar to be synchronized with audio

  I am looking how to approach following problem: We have application that displays text with audio recorded material. We use Browser Control (Internet Explorer) in Delphi App to do this. We respond to events in Delphi code setting innerHTML for elements if we have to update the style ... Now, request is to add option to dynamically move the cursor or dynamically highlight the words spoken from the paragraph. It doesn't need to match absolutely the exact word spoken so we will have to dynamically update the content of position of highlighted word based on some timer or something (because it is not text to speach). What should be the most practical and easy approach to this kind of problem, all answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  I want to store my CGPoint to the NSMultable Array, so , I have method like this: [self.points addObject:CGPointMake(x, y)]; But I got the error, it said that : Incompatible type for argument 1 of "addObject". So, I check out the API, (void)addObject:(id)anObject anObject The object to add to the end of the receiver's content. This value must not be nil. So, I think the "CGPointMake" can make a Object, but it can't be assigned. What happens?

  When i drag and drop my image/script/css file into my view, relative path will automatically use to refer on the files. example: <link href="../../Content/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <img src="../../Images/logo.jpg" /> It is working fine when i host it on my root directory, but if i'm using virtual directory then only my css file able to refer correctly, the rest will return 404...as it will refer to http://{root}/Images/logo.jpg rather than http://{root}/{virtual directory}/Images/logo.jpg But why css file is working? and how to specify the relative path correctly for both root & virtual directory cases?

• Custom Display Form with Custom Workflow button

  I have created a new custom list form that will show 4 fields on the page from a Custom List called "Shipment". I have added Form Action button that I would like to run a custom action that is set inside of a Workflow. Currently, the form displays the fields for "Manifest Number", "Pickup Location", "Delivery Location", & "Scheduled Pickup Time". When the user clicks the Form Action button, what I want the Workflow to do is go to the ID field of the displayed content in the Form and change the value of the "Picked Up" column from No to Yes. The problem I am having is passing the ID of the displayed information from the Form to the Workflow as a variable. I can get the "Picked Up" column to update if I specify the value in the "Update List Item" window under the "Find the List Item" section, but I cannot figure out how to do this dynamically from the Form

• z-index has no effect in IE7 with Google Map and Navigation Sub-Menus

  I feel like the problem is extremely apparent. I'm working on an issue with a client's site, which actually happens on several of my clients' sites but this one is the most apparent. IE7 Is refusing to obey z-index rules. I've played around with differing values, particularly on the divs #mapWrapper and #map. Take a look here: http://thepaysongroup.com/wp-content/plugins/hq_idx/searchlistings.php I've done dozens of web searches and I can't find anything that resolves this issue. I also ready through Aleksandar Vacic's article on IE6/7 z-index discrepancies, but still nothing. Any assistance would be much appreciated, I'm tearing my hair out on this one.

• Liquid templates - accessing members by name

  I'm using Jekyll to create a new blog. It uses Liquid underneath. Jekyll defines certain "variables": site, content, page, post and paginator. These "variables" have several "members". For instance, post.date will return the date of a post, while post.url will return its url. My question is: can I access a variable's member using another variable as the member name? See the following example: {% if my_condition %} {% assign name = 'date' %} {% else %} {% assign name = 'url' %} {% endif %} I have a variable called name which is either 'date' or 'url'. How can I make the liquid equivalent of post[name] in ruby? The only way I've found is using a for loop to iterate over all the pairs (key-value) of post. Beware! It is quite horrible: {% for property in post %} {% if property[0] == name %} {{ property[1] }} {% endif %} {% endfor %} Argh! I hope there is a better way. Thanks.

• Updatepanel refresh messing up JqueryUI in IE7

  Hey everyone, This is a bit of a long shot as I don't have access to the code at the moment. However, there's nothing 'special' about the code. I'm using a combination of JqueryUI and ASP.NET UpdatePanels. If I click any of the trigger controls (asp.net button), the partial-postbacks are fine. However, if I click on a trigger control after clicking on a JQueryUI button, then the entire layout messes up and a lot of the content moves upwards. I can just about reach a JQueryUI button, and when I click that, the layout returns to normal and everything's fine until I click the trigger control again. The page works fine in all latest browsers, but this problem appears in IE 7. I hope maybe someone has come across a similar problem in IE 7 and found a workaround/solution. I've been trying to fix it for a couple of days, but no luck. Thanks for any advice.

• Authkit - deferring action for HTTP '401' response to client application

  Form, Redirect and Forward all send an unauthenticated user to a Form on a login page specified within an Authkit middleware application. I'd like to allow a client application to request a service via XHR and then present a custom 'client side' form if a HTTP status code of 401 is returned, which would then post to Authkit for authentication until valid authentication/authorization occured. Specifically, 1) a jquery $.get request might request a resource. 2) if an Authkit cookie check confirmed previous authorization the content would be returned. 3) if not I would like Authkit to simply return the '401 response' (and not redirect to another page, or return a form template) where a client side exception handler would notify the user and present an authentication form. Can Authkit work like this?

  I want to put some compressed data into a remote repository. To put data on this repository I can only use a method that take the name of the resource and its content as a String. (like data.txt + "hello world"). The repository is moking a filesystem but is not, so I can not use File directly. I want to be able to do the following: client send to server a file 'data.txt' server compress 'data.txt' into data.zip server send to repository content of data.zip repository store data.zip client download from repository data.zip and his able to open it with its favorite zip tool I have tried a lots of compressing example found on the web but each time a send the data to the repository, my resulting zip file is corrupted. Here is a sample class, using the zip*stream and that emulate the repository showcasing my problem. The created zip file is working, but after its 'serialization' it's get corrupted. • problem with adding url variable with javascript

  Hello, Can someone help me with this I am trying to set and catch the url variable It begins with a form wich has the standard action set to "/autorisation/logout" Then a button with an inline javascript function function tbPayout() { parent.location = "/autorisation/logout?rcgo=payout"; return true; } <input src="/images/go02.gif" type=image border=0 name="go1" onClick="return tbPayout();"> In the autorisation controller I try to catch it if ( isset($_GET['rcgo']) ) { but it doesn't work and I can't see the variable in the url and therefore the default forms action is performed? I also have another redirect page with content="3; url=http://www.domain.nl/index/index?rcgo=logout" /> and that works fine How can I get the javascript to work because I have three submit buttons that need to be set to different get variables. • NSIS Installer - Displaying different licences

  Heya, I'm trying to modify an existing NSIS install script to allow for different licence files to be presented to the user depending on whether they are a new or existing user. I have pre-existing code which detects an existing install in the .onInit section. However I'm running into bumps trying to use the NSIS provided licence screen e.g. !InsertMacro MUI_PAGE_LICENSE Content\Licence.rtf I would like to be able to choose between Licence and Licence2.rtf (though they'll be renamed something representative in the final version). I've tried using selectable sections calling functions which nest the !insertmacro but that doesn't work because it needs to be in the base level of the script. I can't change the parameter to be runtime definable because it needs to know what the file is at compile time to build it into the installer. I know I can roll my own custom page called from a function and do it that way but I was wondering if anyone had got the NSIS installer working with using the MUI_PAGE_LICENSE and different licences. The project has many features (Content Types, Fields, Lists, Event Listeners, Workflows, ASPX files, their code behind etc) and the project references couple of other assemblies as well. And it does the SafeControls entries and deploys the assemblies into GAC etc Important aspect is; the WSP that gets created from the VseWss is deployed to the production server and while migrating I want to preserve all of these things so that when I create the WSP from WspBuilder things are transparent for the Sharepoint Administrators. Please guide me how to proceed...any online tutorial or related stuff that talks about migrating a real world VseWss project (with 10-20 different types of features)

• How easy is it to hack a plist file in an app store app?

  Don't worry, I'm not trying to hack someone else's app, if that's what you're thinking =). I want to have 2 versions of my app, a free version and a deluxe version. My plan was to use an in-app purchase to enable the deluxe version by setting a boolean value in the plist file. My question is: is this secure or is it easily circumvented? And if it is not secure, can someone suggest a simple alternative? I don't want to download additional content, I would rather keep all of the functionality within the app and enable it somehow.

• Strategy in exporting to Excel with formatting from ASP.NET?

  So this is another exporting to Excel question. I have a page that has a table with formatting by stylesheet. When I export the page by setting the ContentType to application/excel and Content-Disposition to attachment, I can export the table to Excel (not CSV). However, it loses all formatting. I think it's because Excel does not load CSS and I guess that's reasonable. So, in a scenario where I have to show the table on the web and also export to Excel, both with similar (even if not exact) formatting, what would be the best approach without using something like NPOI? I am trying to minimize the work and keep the single template if possible. Is it necessary for me to create two separate templates: one with stylesheet, the other with embedded style in the table itself for Excel? Having a single template with conditional formatting inside would be very messy. Any ideas?

• [JS] XMLHttpRequest problem

  I am trying to do "POST" with XMLHttpRequest in a firefox extension, and after that I try to get the "Location" header and open it in a new tab. For some reason, the XMLHttpRequest doesn't contain a location header. I'm also unable to open a link in new tab using window.open(url, this.window.title);, but as that's not directly related to the rest of this I'll post a separate question to ask about it.

• Alternative to DITA Open Toolkit

  I'm working on a web app that will need to process DITA documents from persistent storage (likely a JCR). The DITA Open Toolkit is the only DITA implementation I'm aware of, but it requires all of your documents to exist on the filesystem. Ideally, I'd like something that works like the DITA OT, but allows you to provide a resolver (much like an XSLT URIResolver) to pull referenced content from other sources. If people have other ideas, such as using a virtual filesystem to trick the DITA OT into working, I'd love to hear those too. Thanks!

  I have to implement a search feature which is able to quickly perform arbitrary complex queries to XML-data. If the user makes a query, all XML files must be searched to find possible matches. The users will have lots of XML-Files (a few 10000 or more) which are typically a few kilobytes in size. All the XML-files have almost the same structure. I already benchmarked XPath, it is too slow for my needs. How can it be done most efficiently? Is is possible to create indexes for the contents of the XML files (preserving content semantics, not just plain fulltext search)? Will it be useful to put the XML data into an (embedded) SQL database and do the queries with SQL? What other possibilities do I have?

  When I have to render textarea content to the front end I usually pass it thru a function that converts newlines to <br/> tags and double newlines signal paragraph tags so blocks of text get surrounded by <p> and </p> tags. To save time I usually use a ready made PHP function from the wordpress codebase. You can get the link from the man himself: http://ma.tt/scripts/autop/ If you check it out you'll see it does some heavy lifting with about 20 regular expressions. I know I could use a wysiwyg editor (like TinyMCE or CKEditor) that can format the data on the client and then send it to the server (most of them add <p>..</p> tags by default) but I want to know the experience of others in handling raw textarea input and then displaying it on the front end.

• dojo datagrid will make the page "jump" when sorting is changed

  Hi, I have a Dojo Datagrid in one of my pages (which contains more content) and the following problem occurs: As soon as I click on a column header to change the sorting, the page will jump up as if I clicked on some HTML-anchor. Funny enough, the page jump will make the grid show only the first two rows after it jumped, instead of (e.g.) have the grid start at the top of the page after the jump, which is the expected behaviour if an anchor is used. The problem occurs in different browsers (tested: Firefox 3.6, Opera 10, IE6), so I guess it might be a Dojo-problem/-bug. Any ideas to make this annoying behaviour stop?
