  • Why does the jQuery on this page work for Internet Explorer 8, but nothing else?

    - by Ben McCormack
    I made a web page that uses jQuery: http://benmccormack.com/demo/MichaelMassPsalm/Psalm16Mode5.html When you change the selection in the combo box from Higher Key to Lower Key, all of the music images are supposed to change their source to be images that represent the lower key signature. This works great in IE8, but it won't work in Safari, Firefox, or Chrome. Why not? Here's the jQuery code that I'm using: $(document).ready(function () { $("#musicKey").change(function (event) { if ($("#musicKey").val() * 1) { $("img[src*='Low'").each(function (index) { $(this).attr("src", $(this).attr("src").replace("Low", "High")); }); } else { $("img[src*='High'").each(function (index) { $(this).attr("src", $(this).attr("src").replace("High", "Low")); }); } }); });

  • Is it possible to pop open the upload file dialog without requiring the user to press Browse?

    - by superjoe30
    I think I've seen Gmail do it in Chrome or Internet Explorer, but I've never seen it in Firefox. I thought I'd ask anyways. Is it possible to do a file upload without requiring an <input type="file" />? I see that you can use iframes to automatically submit the file input, so my question is Can you programmatically pop up a file upload dialog? If so, what browsers is it supported on?

  • VS 2008 hangs(slow) when I select "File > Open > Web Site..."

    - by Sam
    When I try to select the following "File Open Web Site" or use the shortcut key "Shift + Alt + O" (which does the same), Visual Studio 2008 hangs with the loading mouse icon for about 8-10 seconds then the file. But if I do "File Open Project/Solution.." or "File Open File..." the explorer window comes up in under a second, instantly most times. I've checked out the eclipse source code and am looking through it, but can't seem to find the reference to the JTree used. Does anyone know which package contains the definition of this pane? Thanks!

  • Why a different SHA-1 for the same file under windows or linux?

    - by Fabio Vitale
    Why on the same machine computing the SHA-1 hash of the same file produces two completely different SHA-1 hashes in windows and inside a msysgit Git bash? Doesn't the SHA-1 algorithm was intended to produce the same hash for the same file in all OSes? On windows (with HashCheck): File hello.txt 22596363b3de40b06f981fb85d82312e8c0ed511 Inside a msysgit's Git bash windows (same machine, same file): $ git hash-object hello.txt 3b18e512dba79e4c8300dd08aeb37f8e728b8dad

  • can the python wave module accept StringIO object

    - by user368005
    i'm trying to use the wave module to read wav files in python. whats not typical of my applications is that I'm NOT using a file or a filename to read the wav file, but instead i have the wav file in a buffer. And here's what i'm doing import StringIO buffer = StringIO.StringIO() buffer.output(wav_buffer) file = wave.open(buffer, 'r') but i'm getting a EOFError when i run it... File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/wave.py", line 493, in open return Wave_read(f) File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/wave.py", line 163, in __init__ self.initfp(f) File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/wave.py", line 128, in initfp self._file = Chunk(file, bigendian = 0) File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/chunk.py", line 63, in __init__ raise EOFError i know the StringIO stuff works for creation of wav file and i tried the following and it works import StringIO buffer = StringIO.StringIO() audio_out = wave.open(buffer, 'w') audio_out.setframerate(m.getRate()) audio_out.setsampwidth(2) audio_out.setcomptype('NONE', 'not compressed') audio_out.setnchannels(1) audio_out.writeframes(raw_audio) audio_out.close() buffer.flush() # these lines do not work... # buffer.output(wav_buffer) # file = wave.open(buffer, 'r') # this file plays out fine in VLC file = open(FILE_NAME + ".wav", 'w') file.write(buffer.getvalue()) file.close() buffer.close()

  • How to read a file byte by byte in Python?

    - by zaplec
    Hi, I'm trying to read a file byte by byte, but I'm not sure how to do that. I'm trying to do it like that: file = open(filename, 'rb') while 1: byte = file.read(8) # Do something... So does that make the variable byte to contain 8 next bits at the beginning of every loop? It doesn't matter what those bytes really are. The only thing that matters is that I need to read a file in 8-bit stacks.

  • Exporting WPF DataGrid to a text file in a nice looking format. Text file must be easy to read.

    - by Andrew
    Hi, Is there a simple way to export a WPF DataGrid to a text file and a .csv file? I've done some searching and can't see that there is a simple DataGrid method to do so. I have got something working (barely) by making use of the ItemsSource of the DataGrid. In my case, this is an array of structs. I do something with StreamWriters and StringBuilders (details available) and basically have: StringBuilder destination = new StringBuilder(); destination.Append(row.CreationDate); destination.Append(seperator); // seperator is '\t' or ',' for csv file destination.Append(row.ProcId); destination.Append(seperator); destination.Append(row.PartNumber); destination.Append(seperator); I do this for each struct in the array (in a loop). This works fine. The problem is that it's not easy to read the text file. The data can be of different lengths within the same column. I'd like to see something like: 2007-03-03 234238423823 823829923 2007-03-03 66 99 And of course, I get something like: 2007-03-03 234238423823 823829923 2007-03-03 66 99 It's not surprising giving that I'm using Tab delimiters, but I hope to do better. It certainly is easy to read in the DataGrid! I could of course have some logic to pad short values with spaces, but that seems quite messy. I thought there might be a better way. I also have a feeling that this is a common problem and one that has probably been solved before (hopefully within the .NET classes themselves). Thanks.

  • Using Mercurial (hg), how to push just one file or one directory out?

    - by Jian Lin
    Using Mercurial, we can commit one file by using hg commit file.rb or 1 folder hg commit foldername But how can we push just 1 file or 1 folder out? The whole project can be pushed using hg push ssh://[email protected]//project/code/preliminary but there seems to be no way to push out just 1 file or 1 folder? I tried the following and they don't work: hg push ssh://[email protected]//project/code/preliminary app/views/index.html.erb or hg push ssh://[email protected]//project/code/preliminary/app/views/index.html.erb

  • how to know which special character is there in a file?

    - by Pangea
    My app needs to process text files during a batch process. Occassionally I receive a file with some special character at the end of the file. I am not sure what that special character is. Is there anyway I can find what that character is so that I can tell the other team which is producing that file. I have used mozilla's library to guess the file encoding and it says UTF-8.

  • How do I use ViewScripts on Zend_Form File Elements?

    - by Sonny
    I am using this ViewScript for my standard form elements: <div class="field" id="field_<?php echo $this->element->getId(); ?>"> <?php if (0 < strlen($this->element->getLabel())) : ?> <?php echo $this->formLabel($this->element->getName(), $this->element->getLabel());?> <?php endif; ?> <span class="value"><?php echo $this->{$this->element->helper}( $this->element->getName(), $this->element->getValue(), $this->element->getAttribs() ) ?></span> <?php if (0 < $this->element->getMessages()->length) : ?> <?php echo $this->formErrors($this->element->getMessages()); ?> <?php endif; ?> <?php if (0 < strlen($this->element->getDescription())) : ?> <span class="hint"><?php echo $this->element->getDescription(); ?></span> <?php endif; ?> </div> Trying to use that ViewScript alone results in an error: Exception caught by form: No file decorator found... unable to render file element Looking at this FAQ revealed part of my problem, and I updated my form element decorators like this: 'decorators' => array( array('File'), array('ViewScript', array('viewScript' => 'form/field.phtml')) ) Now it's rendering the file element twice, once within my view script, and extra elements with the file element outside my view script: <input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="8388608" id="MAX_FILE_SIZE" /> <input type="hidden" name="UPLOAD_IDENTIFIER" value="4b5f7335a55ee" id="progress_key" /> <input type="file" name="upload_file" id="upload_file" /> <div class="field" id="field_upload_file"> <label for="upload_file">Upload File</label> <span class="value"><input type="file" name="upload_file" id="upload_file" /></span> </div> Any ideas on how to handle this properly with a ViewScript?

  • Error using paho-mqtt in App Engine Python App

    - by calumb
    I am trying to right a Google Cloud Platform app in python with Flask that makes an MQTT connection. I have included the paho python library by doing pip install paho-mqtt -t libs/. However, when I try to run the app, even if I don't try to connect to MQTT. I get a weird error about IP address checking: RuntimeError: error('illegal IP address string passed to inet_pton',) It seems something in the remote_socket lib is causing a problem. Is this a security issue? Is there someway to disable it?
