I need to add a span tag to the title of an actionlink to output the following html <li><a href="#" id="topmenu1" accesskey="1" title=""><span>Homepage</span></a></li> I currently have <li><%= Html.ActionLink("Homepage", "Index", "Home", null, new { @id= "topmenu1" , @accesskey = "1", @title = "" } ) %></li> which gives me <li><a accesskey="1" href="/" id="topmenu1" title="">Homepage</a></li> without the span tag around Homepage I cannot use <span>Homepage</span> as the title variable of the actionlink, that doesn't work.

double authentication issue on IIS / Report Server (SQL server 2008)

Hi, On a 2003 server box, with SQL server 2008 installed (ReportServer deployed in IIS mode), I've got a virtual directory within IIS with it's security set to 'windows authentication', with the following html code: <body> <h1>test</h1> <iframe src="/reportserver" witdh="50%" height="50%" /> </body> From the outside, I've got a first login/pwd box displayed to access the html code, then a second one to display the content of the iframe. On the same type of server, but with SQL Server 2005, I don't have this issue (i.e. only one login box). My thought is that the first token should give acces to both the page and the iframe, isn't it? Any hints on how to setup the reportserver to fix this? thanks.

Decoding and caching json every 60 minutes

Hi, How do I do this on a php webpage? I want to get and decode a json string and display the results as html on my page, however, I don't want it hotlinking back to the source. If I could write the decoded string to a txt file say weather.txt on the server and keep the html formatting and do it so that the page won't fetch the json script until 60 minutes has passed since the last time it was fetched regardless of how many times the page is opened during that 60 minute period and the weather.txt is viewed. All I can come up with is a simple script that hotlinks, everything else I have tried simply failed. $file = file_get_contents('http://sample.com/weather'); $out = (json_decode($file)); echo $out-mainText; Will appreciate any help with this.

Internet Explorer 8 + Deflate

I have a very weird problem.. I really do hope someone has an answer because I wouldn't know where else to ask. I am writing a cgi application in C++ which is executed by Apache and outputs HTML code. I am compressing the HTML output myself - from within my C++ application - since my web host doesn't support mod_deflate for some reason. I tested this with Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Opera 9, Opera 10, Google Chrome, Safari, IE6, IE7, IE8, even wget.. It works with ANYTHING except IE8. IE8 just says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", with no information whatsoever. I know it's because of the compression only because it works if I disable it. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? I've been struggling a bit with the jQuery Form plugin. I want to create a file upload form that posts the data (JSON, from the chosen file) into a REST service exposed by a servlet. The URL for the POST is calculated from what the user chooses in a SELECT dropdown. When the upload is complete, I want to notify the user immediately, AJAX-style. The problem is that the POST header has a Content-Length of 0 and contains no data. I've copied this as is from an old version of the website, but I've changed the file structure (through to move to WordPress) so I suspect the variables might not even be reaching eventinfo.php in the first place... index.php is in wp-content/themes/cambridge and eventinfo.php is in wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe but I've tried to avoid structuring issues by referencing the URL in full. Any ideas?

Problem with absolute positioning div over SWF and IE 8.

I'm attempting to use the old IFrame-over-SWF trick to get HTML to display "inside" a SWF. I'm following the example provided by Brian Deitte at: http://www.deitte.com/IFrameDemo3/IFrameDemo.html. (The source code can be viewed and downloaded by right-clicking on the SWF and selecting "View Source".) In the latest versions of Firefox, Google, Opera, and Safari on the Mac, it all looks good. But in IE 8 the absolutely positioned div containing the IFrame is positioned too far up and left, and the height and width are considerably smaller. Thoughts?

Memory Leak with jQuery UI inside UpdatePanel in ie7

I have a fairly complex asp.net page based on UpdatePanels and jQuery UI. Unfortunately, when the panels update, the jQuery UI widgets leak memory like crazy in ie7, even if I manually 'destroy' them. Does anyone know a technique/patch to prevent these leaks? jQuery DOM append losing markup

This is related to an earlier question. I try to append HTML DOM returned in an AJAX response to an existing DIV. I see all the text, but it seems all markup such as bold, italic, etc is lost. My AJAX (XML) data is like so: <event source="foo"> <contents> <h1>This is an event</h1> This is the body of the event </contents> </event> My jQuery code does this: $("#eventDiv").append( jData.find("contents").contents().clone() ); Attempting to do .html() on the cloned contents throws an exception: TypeError: Cannot call method 'replace' of undefined. I am a little surprised that it is so excruciatingly hard to do this with jQuery. Am I doing something too far off the track?

I'm trying to implement a simple api request to the SEOmoz linkscape api. It works if I only use the php file but I want to do an ajax request using jquery to make it faster and more user friendly. Where is the help.py for Android's monkeyrunner

Hi, I just can't find the help.py file in order to create the API reference for the monkeyrunner. The command described at the Android references monkeyrunner <format> help.py <outfile> does not work when i call monkeyrunner html help.py /path/to/place/the/doc.html. It's quite obvious that the help.py file is not found and the monkeyrunner also tells me "Can't open specified script file". But a locate on my system doesn't bring me a help.py file that has anything to do with monkeyrunner or Android. So my question is: Where did they hide the help.py file for creating the API reference?

I'm basically trying to write an HTML form, with one text box for now, that as you type in it, shows you auto completion options. this will be used for finding restaurants, and I intend to use the Yelp API for that. can someone please point me out in a direction of a tutorial on how to do this - specifically with regards to the Django / HTML / jQuery rather than how to work with the Yelp API? Are there any tutorials I should read? All tutorials I have found are very basic ones that build forms from the Django data models.. Thanks!
