• cannot render json without login. What should i do?

  I am new to rails and i am trying few examples. I have login page using devise authentication and i have one more page where user can store their details, view, edit and delete the details. It is displayed in html format, once login is done. I want to produce json for iPhone so if i call as localhost:3000/posts/1.json it does not show json but after login i can see the json. so how shoud i do this? Pls help me.

• How do I declare a C# Web User Control but stop it from initializing?

  I have a C#/ASP.NET .aspx page that declares two controls that each represents the content of one tab. I want a query string argument (e.g., ?tab=1) to determine which of the two controls is activated. My problem is, they both go through the initialization events and populate their child controls, wasting CPU resources and slowing the response time. Is it possible to deactivate them somehow so they don't go through any initialization? My .aspx page looks like this: <% if (TabId == 0) { %> <my:usercontroltabone id="ctrl1" runat="server" /> <% } else if (TabId == 1) { %> <my:usercontroltabtwo id="ctrl2" runat="server" /> <% } %> And that part works fine.   Hello, I have one page which uses <ui:insert> called master.xhtml which uses one managedbean named MasterBean.java and its of viewScoped. It calls webservice and has all useful data which will be useful in master.xhtml as well as page which is built using master.xhtml (which uses <ui:include>). When i visit data.xhtml (which uses template as master.xhtml) and which uses managed bean as DataBean.java which is also of view scoped, how do i use MasterBean? If i directly use #{Masterbean.property}, won't it create a new instance again? or will it use the bean which is already in view scope? Also how do i use MasterBean in DataBean in such a way that existing MasterBean's instance is used in DataBean. I don't want new instance of MasterBean in DataBean. Thanks in advance. If i am not clear please let me know.

  After an AJAX query, a XML file is returned. I'm able to "parse" that file, but when it comes to getting the "innerHTML" (or in this case "innerXML" lol) of an element, I fail. If the XML element, let's say "content", only contained text I could do: content.childNodes[0].nodeValue (assuming that content references the XML element "content"). But that element contains other elements: <stackoverflow reason="tribute to this page"> <content> <div><span><p>Some more HTML elements</p></span></div> </content> </stackoverflow> I need to copy the content of <content> to an existing <div> in the page, how could I do that? Ex. myDiv.innerHTML = content.innerHTML;

• PHP Session Array Value keeps showing as "Array"

  Hello, When sending data from a form to a second page, the value of the session is always with the name "Array" insteed of the expected number. The data should get displayed in a table, but insteed of example 1, 2, 3 , 4 i get : Array, Array, Array. (A 2-Dimensional Table is used) Is the following code below a proper way to "call" upon the stored values on the 2nd page from the array ? $test1 = $_SESSION["table"][0]; $test2 = $_SESSION["table"][1]; $test3 = $_SESSION["table"][2]; $test4 = $_SESSION["table"][3]; $test5 = $_SESSION["table"][4]; What exactly is this, and how can i fix this? • Drupal, Themekey module doesn't work for a user

  hi, Themekey module, (that I use to switch the theme on specific pages of my backend), works for my first Drupal user but it doesn't work for the second Drupal user. In other words, the second user see a page in its default theme. I was wondering if I have to create again the account for this user, and why ThemeKey module doesn't apply consistently to all users. The page I'm customizing a view from which you can edit the content of the website. i've checked for permissions, but I couldn't find any difference between the 2 users. Thanks

  Hello all, I have a set of complex Excel files (with figures in it) that I want to show in a web browser. So I need to convert them into HTML page first. Since the excel files are very complex, I can not just parse them and generate a HTML table with HTML tags. The current manual solution that works fine is when I use Microsoft Excel software to save the spreadsheet as a HTML page. I want to automate this task in some way since I want to do it progrmatically through Java. Is their any existing solution or a way to do it? Thanks.

• Why isn't a JS file hosted on Amazon S3 getting cached by the browser?

  I have a JS file hosted on Amazon S3 (http://s3.amazonaws.com/wingify/vis_opt.js). I want the file to be cached on users' browsers so that they don't have to download it with every page view. However, in spite of setting Cache Control header I don't think it is getting cached. Browser still contacts Amazon Server with every pageview. Here is the example of page where this script is embedded: http://myjugaad.in/ If you have Firebug, you will be able to see that browser requests it with every pageview. What can I do so that the file gets permanently cached? Thanks for help.

• ListView Item Detail Screen: New or Same Activity?

  I have a listview where each item correlates to an instance of an item in an array. When the user selects an item, it will bring up a 'Details' page that reads and displays other data members of the list item. Would this be better implemented with the Details page as its own activity, or a new view within the same activity? Pros and cons of each? A new activity makes my job a little easier in terms of handling the 'back' button, but then I have the challenge of how do I pass the rest of the data structure to the new activity since I can't bundle it up (unless I serialize it).

Well it does work and all, better too, but the images that I put in it flicker. • Getting a divs z-index to overlap a div with absolute positioning

  Does anyone know how I could get the logo at the top of my page to appear on top of the curtains. http://nuigums.tumblr.com/ The logo is within a section tag along with the rest of the content with a z-index of 2, which is required to get the footer reveal effect I want. The curtain has a z-index of 3. I tried setting the z-index of the logo div to 4 but I presume the fact that the sections styling overrides that? I would like the logo to scroll with the content of the page also. Thanks. :)

  I have an elements on page that are draggabe with jQuery. These elements have click event wich navigates to another page (ordinary links for example). What is the best way to prevent click from firing on dropping such element, while allowing clicking it in not drag and drop state? I have this problem with sortable elements, but think it is good to have solution for general drag and drop. I've solved the problem for myself. After that found that same solution exists for Scriptaculous, but maybe someone have a better way to achieve that.

  I need to dynamically load a CSS stylesheet into a page that's on a different domain. How can I get the complete URL of the JS file to use in the href attribute of the stylesheet? For instance, here is the structure: http://bla.com/js/script.js http://bla.com/css/style.css I want to dynamically load the stylesheet into a page http://boo.net/index.html. The problem is, I don't know the bla.com bit in advance, just the fact that the stylesheet is in ../css/ relative to the JS file. The script is, of course, included on index.html. jQuery's fine too.

• Session Issue only in IE for an ASP .NET application

  We have migrated our Asp .NET application from Windows 2000 server to Windows 2003 Server when we access the site from Internet explorer we are facing some cache issues like when we click on logout its redirecting to homepage instead of login page but when i try to navigate inside its not allowing me i.e. its throwing me the user id and password is wrong.. i am facing this issue only in IE if i access the same page from Firefox i am not gettiing these kind of issue.. Is this problem related to some IIS settings or some code change is required? please help me in solving this issue...

• Printing contents of a dynamically created iframe from parent window

  I have a page with a list of links and a div which serves as a placeholder for the pages the links lead to. Everytime user clicks on a link an iframe is created in the div and its src attribute gets the value of the link href attribute - simple and clear, sort of external web pages gallery. What i do have a problem with is printing the contents of the iframe. To do this i use this code: function PrintIframe() { frames["name"].focus(); frames["name"].print(); } The issue seems to be that iframe is created dynamically by JQuery - when I insert an iframe right into the html code, the browser prints the external page all right. But with the same code injected by JavaScript nothing happens. I tried to use JQ 1.3 'live' event on "Print" link, no success. Is there a way to overcome this?

• How can I implement a login wall for expired or inappropriate pages?

  I am writing a website that very explicitly requires a login wall. Visitors should be required to log in before they are allowed to view a page. The page being built depends very much on the user's "ID". I am not sure how or where to store the user's login. I am not sure whether I should use a session variable (e.g. Session["userId"]), or some other method. The problem I see with session variables is that it's difficult to time out sessions. Note: I'm using C# 3.5 with ASP.NET in Visual Studio 2008.

• Zend Framework-does every webpage have it's own controller and indexAction and view?

  I'm wanting to be sure that I am setting things up correctly. On a typical website with 10 pages, would each page have it's own controller with it's own IndexAction and it's own View folder with it's own index.phtml as a view? Or do you have one controller with multiple Page1Action, Page2Action, etc and have multiple differently named view.phtml pages within view/index folder? I'm leaning toward the former because then I can have a cleaner controller for each page... Is there a standard, or is it subjective?

• What do I use for a J2ee website?

  Not sure if I asked this correctly. I am trying to see what I need to create an website that uses MVC and that connects to legacy multiple databases, brining back those database info into one page. I wanted the site to be MVC but am not sure where to begin. Do I use Spring? What do I use for an server? Jboss and apache? Hibernate? I'm just kind of lost on how to proceed. It's not a straight forward a asp.net mvc or a php framwork. A major concern is the collection of data from multiple legacy databases and bringing that data back into one page. Thanks.
