Android, FragmentActivity and prevent Swipe

I use android.support.v4.app.FragmentActivity for create a app with multi fragment/panels that can be access by drag/swipe between different part of the app. In one of my fragment I has a zoomable view and my problem is in case I is on the zoomable view I will prevent the use for drag/swipe to a other fragment. I has try to hack into android.support.v4.view.ViewPager for get the action from on Touch event but not work. CharField values disappearing after save (readonly field)

I'm implementing simple "grade book" application where the teacher would be able to update the grades w/o being allowed to change the students' names (at least not on the update grade page). To do this I'm using one of the read-only tricks, the simplest one. The problem is that after the SUBMIT the view is re-displayed with 'blank' values for the students. I'd like the students' names to re-appear. Below is the simplest example that exhibits this problem. (This is poor DB design, I know, I've extracted just the relevant parts of the code to showcase the problem. Problems with registering click event listener to a frame-element

Hi everybody, I ran into a problem with adding an event listener. I wrote a Firefox plugin a while ago for my bachelor thesis. It was based on a different attacker model than you would normally expect. In this scenario the attacker was the service provider (like Facebook, Google,...), who reads all your private data stored on their site (via JS). My final solution was to temporally allow JS (while the page loads and after an user action occured). To observe the interaction I used event listener, which worked very well so far. But last week I noticed that my approach doesn't work with web sites which are using a frameset (I added the event listener to the body...). So I tried to add the listener to the frameset respectively to the frame. But the clicks are only noticed when you actually click on the frame... (eg resize the frame with your mouse) But I want to register clicks on the document loaded inside the frame. I already tried the .frameElement. Sadly it seems that Firefox doesn't like my (or, which is more likely, I'm too stuipd :) ) and claims there are no frames... Could anyone tell me how to add an event listener to the document inside a frame? How do I get the style to propagate into all windows in the application?

Custom UIButton for Iphone.

I have an view in my App which has a number of buttons based on the number of items returned by the server. So if the server returns say 10 items, there should be 10 buttons and clicking on each button should call a different person. Unable to display wap version during "Extended permission"

Hi, Im trying to redirect to facebook to request permission to publish stream. However, it only works when i did not specify any display parameters, it shows me a web version of it. I wanted a wap version instead. What should I do? Passing an NSDate

I'm new to the iPhone and objective-c and I am still trying to get my head around ownership of objects so bear with me. I have a DOBViewController that has a datepicker on it. I have created a custom init method: -(id)initWithInitialDate(NSDate *)initialDate; Another view controller has a date instance declared (NSDate *dob) that holds a value. I would like to pass this to the DOBViewController so that it can scroll the datepicker to the passed value. Here is the custom init method: - (id)initWithInitialDate:(NSDate *)initialDate { // Initialise ourselves self = [super init]; // Set the date of the date picker if (initialDate != nil) { datePicker.date = initialDate; } else { // Set it to today datePicker.date = [NSDate date]; } return self; } This is how I am sending the dob NSDate object: DOBViewController *dobViewController = [[DOBViewController alloc] initWithInitialDate:dob]; Where dob is a variable of type NSDate that is declared in the header file. This doesn't seem to work as initialDate is always NULL. What am I doing wrong?

Embedded Vimeo Video Callbacks

This post is kind of a follow up to a post I made earlier in regards to HTML5 video callbacks. In that thread, I was given a great piece of code that would allow for the browser to be informed of when the video stops playing and then fire off an action (with jQuery). This is the code I'm currently using: $('video.normal').bind('ended', function(){ $(this).fadeOut().queue(function(){ $(this).siblings('.post-video').fadeIn(); $(this).dequeue(); }); }); Which basically fades the video out when it's completed and brings a poster frame of the video (or similar image) back into view. Well, the scope of the project has changed and now the client is asking for true full screen video and different size videos to be delivered based on user connection speed, something that's a little over my head and a lot over budget. So I've been researching and a Vimeo Plus player seems like a great alternative for visitors using a desktop browser (HD embeds, true full screen, and more). Thing is, I need that above code to continue working in some capacity or another, so does the embedded Vimeo player offer a similar callback that I can utilize? Or am I SOL here? Thanks in advance!

Jquery Internet Explorer 8 compatibility issue, does not load data unless history is deleted...

Hey guys, I have a weird problem. I have an update system that refreshes data on a time interval. It works well in all browsers except internet explorer 8. The problem is that once it loads the data, it does not matter if the data updates further, it will not update the data visually until the internet history is cleared. I am not using any cookies server-side...Anyone ever encounter something like this? UITableView and UITableCellView, how does this work with core plot ?

Hello, I'm very new to iPhone programming, and I'm currently following tutos to understand the whole thing. I've been able to do what I needed (retrive data from a JSON http server, parse them with YAJL and plot the data in core plot). I have done this in a "simple" view where I have added a UILayerHostingView as requested by core-plot. I am now trying to follow this tuto: http://blogs.remobjects.com/blogs/mh/2010/01/26/p973 but I am missing the first part regarding the views... My understanding is that I need to create a view with a UITableView first. Then add a UITableCellView to make the first cell be able to contain the graph ? Is this right ? Where does the method "(id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewCellStyle)style" come from ? For my needs, only the first cell needs to contain a graph, I will put some other info in the other cells. As for now, I have created a new GraphListViewController, in the corresponding view I have added a listview but I do not see any auto generated methods regading cell customisation ? Do I need to implements DataSource in this controller and manually add some customisation methods ? Do I need to add a UITagbleViewCell to this UITableViewTable within IB ? Open source file upload with no timeout on IIS6 with ASP, ASP.NET 2.0 or PHP5

I'm after a cross-platform cross-browser way of uploading files such that there is no timeout. Uploads aren't necessarily huge -- some just take a long time to upload because of the uploader's slow connection -- but the server times out anyway. I hear that there are methods to upload files in chunks so that somehow the server decides not to timeout the upload. After searching around all I can see is proprietary upload helpers and Java and Flash (SWFUpload) widgets that aren't cross-platform, don't upload in chunks, or aren't free. I'd like a way to do it in any of these platforms (ASP, ASP.NET 2.0 or PHP5), though I am not very clued up on all this .NET class/controller/project/module/visual studio/compile/etc stuff, so some kind of runnable complete project that runs on .NET 2.0 would be helpful. PHP and ASP I can assume will be more straight-forward. Unless I am completely missing something, which I suspect/hope I am, reasonable web uploads are bloody hard work in any language or platform. So my question is: how can I perform web browser uploads, cross-platform, so that they don't timeout, using free software? Is it possible at all?

Why do you have to explicitly specify scope with friendly_id?

I'm using the friendly_id gem. I also have my routes nested: # config/routes.rb map.resources :users do |user| user.resources :events end So I have URLs like /users/nfm/events/birthday-2009. In my models, I want the event title to be scoped to the username, so that both nfm and mrmagoo can have events birthday-2009 without them being slugged. # app/models/event.rb def Event < ActiveRecord::Base has_friendly_id :title, :use_slug => true, :scope => :user belongs_to :user ... end I'm also using has_friendly_id :username in my User model. However, in my controller, I'm only pulling out events pertinent to the user who is logged in (current_user): def EventsController < ApplicationController def show @event = current_user.events.find(params[:id]) end ... end This doesn't work; I get the error ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound; expected scope but got none. # This works @event = current_user.events.find(params[:id], :scope => 'nfm') # This doesn't work, even though User has_friendly_id, so current_user.to_param _should_ return "nfm" @event = current_user.events.find(params[:id], :scope => current_user) # But this does work! @event = current_user.events.find(params[:id], :scope => current_user.to_param) SO, why do I need to explicitly specify :scope if I'm restricting it to current_user.events anyway? And why does current_user.to_param need to be called explicitly? Can I override this?

Cucumber Error: Socket Error for Test Environment Host in REST API

I posted this to the Cucumber group with no replies, which makes me wonder if this is actually a cucumber issue or not. I'm pretty new to cucumber, and there are a number of things I really don't quite understand about how the cucumber environment is set up and executed within the test environment. I have a REST API rails app I'm testing with cucumber, using the RestClient gem to generate a post to controller create action. When I run the feature with a hard-coded URL pointing to a running localhost server (my local dev server environment; replacing tickets_url with "http:// localhost/tickets" in the snippet below), my cucumber steps execute as expected. However, when the resource URL resolves to the cucumber host I'm declaring, I get a socket error exception. getaddrinfo: nodename nor servname provided, or not known (SocketError) From the steps file: When /^POS Adapter sends JSON data to the Tickets resource$/ do ticket = { :ticket = { ... } } host! "test.host" puts tickets_url RestClient.post tickets_url, ticket.to_json, :content_type = :json, :accepts = :json end (the "puts" statement prints "http://test.host/tickets") Using the following gems: cucumber-0.6.1 webrat-0.6.0 rest-client-1.2.0 I should also say I have a similar set up in another rails app, using test.host as my host, and it seems to work fine. I'd appreciate any insight on what I might be missing in my configuration or what this could be related to.

i develop a app using struts2, spring 3.1, Jpa2 and Hibernate. Three Checkboxes, One must be selected to enable submit button, needs Jquery?

I have between 1-three checkboxes and by default they are all disabled. In order for the submit button to be active ove checkbox minumum must be selected. Can someone help me with a jquery snippet to achieve this? My markup looks like this and the site used jquery 1.42. For this purpose I am using as3crypto library and I can't read the public key to make the encryption possible. Making one of a group of similar form fields required in CakePHP

I have a bunch of name/email fields in my form like this: data[Friend][0][name] data[Friend][1][name] data[Friend][2][name] etc. and data[Friend][0][email] data[Friend][1][email] data[Friend][2][email] etc. I have a custom validation rule on each one that checks to see if the corresponding field is filled in. Ie. if data[Friend][2][name] then data[Friend][2][email] MUST be filled in. FYI, heres what one of the two rules look like: My form validation rule: ( I have an email validation too but that's irrelevant here) 'name' => array( 'checkEmail' => array( 'rule' => 'hasEmail', 'message' => 'You must fill in the name field', 'last' => true ) ) My custom rule code: function hasEmail($data){ $name = array_values($data); $name = $name[0]; if(strlen($name) == 0){ return empty($this->data['Friend']['email']); } return true; } I need to make it so that one of the pairs should be filled in as a minimum. It can be any as long as the indexes correspond. I can't figure a way, as if I set the form rule to be required or allowEmpty false, it fails on ALL empty fields. How can I check for the existence of 1 pair and if present, carry on? Also, I need to strip out all of the remaining empty [Friend] fields, so my saveAll() doesn't save a load of empty rows, but I think I can handle that part using extract in my controller. The main problem is this validation. Thanks.

Objective-C respondsToSelector question.

From what I have learned so far: In Objective-C you can send any message to any object. If the object does implement the right method it will be executed otherwise nothing will happen. This is because before the message is send Objective-C will perform respondsToSelector. I hope I am right so far. I did a little program for testing where an action is invoked every time a slider is moved. Also for testing I set the sender to NSButton but in fact it is an NSSlider. Now I asked the object if it will respond to setAlternateTitle. While a NSButton will do and NSSlider will not. If I run the code and do respondsToSelector myself it will tell me the object will not respond to that selector. If I test something else like intValue, it will respond. So my code is fine so far. - (IBAction)sliderDidMove:(id)sender { NSButton *slider = sender; BOOL responds = [slider respondsToSelector:@selector(setAlternateTitle)]; if(responds == YES) { NSLog(@"YES"); } else { NSLog(@"NO"); } [slider setAlternateTitle:@"Hello World"]; } But when I actually send the setAlternateTitle message the program will crash and I am not exactly sure why. Shouldn't it do a respondsToSelector before sending the message?

I just downloaded fckeditor and dropped the folder into my root directory but I don't know how to install the fckeditor into my forms for example, I wanted to integrate the fckeditor into the About Me and My Interests form fields in the form below, but I don't know how or even how to change the fckeditor skins. Can someone show me how to do this? JQuery & Wordpress - Hide multiple divs inside unique ID?

I'm trying to write a short Wordpress JQuery for Wordpress comments that would allow users to toggle specific comments on and off. This is my first script, and I'm having a tough time. Once overtly simplified, the comments are formatted like so: <li id="li-comment-<?php comment_ID() ?>"> <div class="gravatar"><img src="#" /></div> <div class="comment_poster">Username</div> <div class="comment_options">Option buttons</div> <div class="comment_content">Comment</div> </li> In the "comment_options" DIV is a series of buttons that control the individual comments (reply, quote, edit, close, etc.). The close button is what I'm trying to write this script for. I need it to toggle the "gravtar" and "comment_content" DIVs, but leave the rest in place so that it still displays the user ID and controls. However, I can't seem to figure out how to contain the action. This is what I have so far: $(document).ready(function() { $("div.trigger").click(function() { $("div.gravatar").slideToggle(); $("div.comment_content").slideToggle(); }); }); The problem with this is that it closes are the .gravatar and .comment_content on the page, not just the ones found in the same list item. If you're curious, this is the page I'm working on. Any idea how I could resolve this? Again, this is my firs time with JQuery, so I'm a little fuzzy on how it all works. Thanks!
