    Hi, I couldn't find anything through Google, I suppose the search terms are too much to handle. The VS built-in help only explains <%, which is just embedded code. There is no mention of <%: EDIT: My book says, that the only difference is that <%: returns a MvcHtmlString. Why do we need an extra symbol for <%: just to return something? Thanks for any help! It would really help me to understand asp.net.

    I'm being an idiot. Someone cut and pasted some text from microsoft word into my lovely html files. I now have these unicode characters instead of regular quote symbols, (i.e. quotes appear as <92 in the text) I want to do a regex replace but I'm having trouble selecting them. :%s/\u92/'/g :%s/\u5C/'/g :%s/\x92/'/g :%s/\x5C/'/g ...all fail. My google-fu has failed me.

I would like to know, in terms an idiot can understand, exactly what application lifetime means in ASP.NET (and therefore when you can expect application start and end events to run). I assumed it would be when you run and stop the app in IIS, but I've read things that suggest it's related to number of requests.

    I am quite impressed by the workflow I follow when developing Android applications: Define a layout in an xml file and then write all the code in a code-behind style. Is there an equivalent style for the web? I mean, with a predefined list of widgets that can be defined using a markup language and then control them using code? I have come across Google's Web Toolkit that does something like this but I'd like to hear what other's think as well.

    Hi i have a problem with my Eclipse and the SDK (i have download and install the latest ADT Bundle for windows ) when i start my eclipse i get this problem : This Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 22.0.0 or above. Current version is 20.0.0. please update your SDK tools to the latest version i have tried the option : Help - check for updates But with no new update find then i try this one : How to Update your ADT to Latest Version In Eclipse go to Help Install New Software ---> Add inside Add Repository write the Name: ADT (or whatever you want) and Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ after loading you should get Developer Tools and NDK Plugins check both if you want to use the Native Developer Kit (NDK) in the future or check Developer Tool only click Next Finish But i dont have the option to click next to finish (the back , next and finish options are grey ) Then i try this method : Go here download latest version of ADT-22.0.4.zip (*) At Eclipse > Help > Install new software... > Uncheck Contact all update sites during install to find required software (last bottom preference) that will avoid any unwanted delays during install. then at the same screen (top) Click Add > Archive > select downloaded ADT-X.X.X.zip > follow on screen installation steps But had the same problem when it was to finish the installation.. no option to click ''next'' then i try this one : Help – Install New Software in the ADT menu. Type https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml in “Work with:” and Enter. You can see the “Developer Tools” item. Select it and click Next. Click Next one more. Click Finish accepting the terms of the license agreements. Click OK in the “Security Warning” window. Let the installer restart ADT after installing the tools.     From today, when I tried to run an app in NetBeans on a 2.3.3 Android platform, it shows me that: Failed to allocate memory: 8 This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. and the Emulator doesn't want to start. This is for the first time when I see it, and google has no asnwers for this, I tried even with 2 versions of NetBeans 6.9.1 and 7.0.1, still the same error.

  • Ant variable does not exists in Ubuntu 10.10

    I am trying to set up ANT build. However when I invoke build command helloworld_15/${NAME} does not exist. BUILD FAILED (total time: 0 seconds) Also the configure variables does not seems to be assigned. However i have set them into /etc/envitonment I tried echo $<varaiable_name> and value get displayed. Tried to google but not solutions seems am the first one having this issue. PS: OS Ubuntu 10.10

    Long and short of the story is, whilst reading John Resig's blog (specifically http://ejohn.org/blog/javascript-trie-performance-analysis/) I came across a line which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Essentially it boils down to object = object[key] = something; (this can be found in the first code block of the article I've linked.) This has proven rather difficult to google, so if anyone can offer some insight / a good online resource for me to learn for myself, I'd much appreciate it.
