  • Non class files with Java Web Start

    How do you distribute other files needed by your application that aren't in a jar file? For example, the application at http://www.javabeginner.com/java-swing/java-swing-shuffle-game . The download contains Shuffle.jar, Shuffle.bat, Score.dat, and an images folder with 3 images in it. I can see possibly putting the images directly in Shuffle.jar, but you wouldn't want to put Score.dat in the jar file because it changes. Is there somewhere you could identify this type of file in the jnlp?

  • Is it possible to Load hbm.xml info at app startup instead of via an embedded resource?

    All of the NHibernate examples I've see that use hbm files have the hbm.xml file set as an embedded resource with "do not copy" chosen in the file properties. This means that if a database column name were to change in production, the app would have to be recompiled with the changes in the hbm.xml file during build time. Is there any way to make NHibernate load the hbm.xml files from the file system at application startup instead of using an embedded version?

    I'm working at a java application that performs some xslt transformation. I would like to match nodes into the xslt document, using a parameter provided by java. Which is the right way to do something like: <xsl:template match="//m:properties/*[contains($pattern,name())]"> because when I launch my application, it claims it's not able to compile the stylesheet, since pattern is not defined but I'm setting it using the setParameter method and I was able to use another parameter defined in the same way but in a different context.     I am having trouble getting JBoss started. I am running JBoss 5.1.0 on Mac OSX (yes, I know it is an old version, but that’s what the application is certified on for now). I am using Apple’s JVM 1.6.0_37. I also installed a network monitoring tool on my box and it doesn't look like any ports are being opened when I start jboss, but it is possible, that the tool might be missing a port that is opened and then closed quickly. Any ideas what could be the problem or how to fix it?

Gestión Avanzada de Umbrales (Advanced Threshold Management) Esta funcionalidad  lo que permite es tener una mayor flexibilidad en los umbrales de todos tus objetivos (Targets) Umbrales basados en tiempo: Auto ajusta los umbrales estáticos, basados ??en los cambios de carga de trabajo de tu ambiente de trabajo. Por ejemplo, no son las mismas cargas de trabajo que tiene tu ambiente los fines de semana a comparación en un cierre de mes. Umbrales adaptativos: Umbrales que se calculan automáticamente para alertar si tu objetivo, ya sea una BD o un Exadata  se desvía del comportamiento esperado de su ambiente normal de trabajo. Interfaz para el seguimiento de tus tareas programadas Anteriormente si tenias varias tareas programadas, tenias que entrar a cada uno de tus targets para verificar como iba progresando, ahora en esta nueva versión, existe una nueva interfaz en la que te podrá permitir ver todas las tareas programadas que tienes en tu ambiente, reduciendo el numero de clicks para poder llegar a esta.   • Rackspace copy script failure message "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out"

    I am using Rackspace for Ubuntu cloud server. Everyday a script(I guess the script is from rackspace) executes on the cloud servers which copies the backfile to the Rackspace CloudFiles and sends the mail as if the files are copied and I've scheduled the script on the cloud servers. I've no much knowledge of the script and I guess the script is based on Cruise(as I could see build.xml, some jar files ...). Everyday the files are copied to the Rackspace from cloud servers but sometimes don't know why, the files will be copied to Rackspace sending an error failure message or sometimes the files will not be copied and sends the error failure message like the one below. Error while backing up on Station1 on 03/03/2011 04:50 AM and reason for error is java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out Anybody using Rackspace?, anybody has any fix for this?
