• NoClassDefFoundError points to the wrong class.

  I'm validating the installation of a program that consists of a few separate modules. They are not co-dependent. I have apple.jar and orange.jar, they are placed in the same folder and were developed in the same project, but run independent of each other. Running apple.jar goes fine, but orange.jar gives me a NoClassDefFoundError pointing to apple.jar. /usr/java/jre1.6.0_14/bin/java -jar validator.jar Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: orange/client/Apple Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: orange.client.Apple at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source) Could not find the main class: validator/client/StormDataXMLGenerator.   Using the Business Application template from the brand new released RIA Services, you can see lots of examples using the data grid on top of a DomainDataSource in combination with a DataPager. The properties PageSize and LoadSize can be used to adjust the amount of data to be displayed in one page and the data that is prefetched in the background. Now I'd like to have a data grid with a scrollbar and no pager. The underlying DomainDataSource should load only the data that is diplayed in the grid. It should trigger another load, when the user scrolls down to items that are not yet in the data context. Is there any sample implementation how to do this?

• Prepend 'www' to an HTTPS url using .htaccess & mod_rewrite

  I have a dilemma with this one. With the following code I am able to force SSL on any non SSL url, however when the user (and results from Google) take the user to http://mysite.co.za then we hit an issue as the url is then rewritten to https://mysite.co.za Due to the fact that my certificate is bound to www.mysite.co.za it immediately throws a security error because of the missing 'www' in the url. Can someone point out a way to add the www to the domain when the domain starts with HTTPS and not HTTP? Much appreciated. And the current code to add the https:// is as follows: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. RewriteCond %{HTTPS}s ^on(s)| RewriteRule ^ http%1://www.%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

• Is it possible to have regexp that matches all valid regular expressions?

  Is it possible to detect if a given string is valid regular expression, using just regular expressions? Say I have some strings, that may or may not be a valid regular expressions. I'd like to have a regular expression matches those string that correspond to valid regular expression. Is that possible? Or do I have use some higher level grammar (i.e. context free language) to detect this? Does it affect if I am using some extended version of regexps like Perl regexps? If that is possible, what the regexp matching regexp is?

• Why is the CoreData stack in XCode's CoreData enabled template treated as private?

  In regards to XCode templates with CoreData enabled, I've read http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2729055/unclear-use-of-property-in-window-app-using-core-data which goes over the 'what' in the templates. But I am having an issue with the 'why'. By declaring the category in the implementation file, the CoreData accessors act like private methods. The problem with that is whenever you want to use CoreData elsewhere in your app, you need some extra code. I've figured you need to either supply your own method that exposes the managed object context, such as... - (NSManagedObjectContext *)getManagedObjectContext { return self.managedObjectContext; } ...which will allow other parts of your app to use it. Or you would need to jam pack your app delegate with specific methods to return managed objects, ie getProducts or setUser. Can anyone shed light on the reasoning here?

• Using slime's C-x C-e (Eval the form under the point) with swank-clojure in emacs

  Hi, I'm using swank-clojure in emacs on OSX. I'm able to run a slime session. When I use C-x C-e on a simple form in a .clj file like (+ 7 7) I get an sldb buffer with Unable to resolve symbol: + in this context [Thrown class java.lang.Exception] I'm able to evaluate that form in the slime session directly. I was hoping the form in the clj file would get evaluated in the running slime session. Can someone explain how C-x C-e works in swank-clojure and how I can get the form to be evaluated in the running slime session? Thanks, hhh

• SQL Server Agent 2005 job runs but no output

  Essentially I have a job which runs in BIDS and as as a stand lone package and while it runs under the SQL Server Agent it doesn't complete properly (no error messages though). The job steps are: 1) Delete all rows from table; 2) Use For each loop to fill up table from Excel spreasheets; 3) Clean up table. I've tried this [MS page][1] (steps 1 & 2), didn't see any need to start changing from Server side security. Also SQLServerCentral.com for [this page][2], no resolution. How can I get error logging or a fix? Note I've reposted this from Server Fault as it's one of those questions that's not pure admin or programming. I have logged in as the proxy account I'm running this under, and the job runs stand alone but complains that the Excel tables are empty?

• NHibernate and SetSessionAuth audit columns

  We have audit columns set by triggers. For obscure security reasons predating my tenure and out of my control, we log in with a generic user, and do a 'set session authorization' to change the user to the db user of the user who is logged in. When we converted to NHibernate, it creates a whole new session and jacks everything up when we try to do a set session auth, so we turned the set session auth off... Now we are trying to find out a way to get NHibernate to let us do 'set session authorization' without recycling the session on us, so we can use our existing trigger based audit column stuff with both legacy apps, and our new NHibernate apps. It's not a ideal soloution, or the best way to do it even, but is it possible? I was hoping there was a alternate interface that allowed this kind of access. Does anyone know how to do it, or can you point me towards and good hints? Thanks, Eric-

• Django: cannot pass variable to included template?

  Hi, I got a problem where I want to use template including in Django. Here is the real example: I got 3 file: home.html (will get the context variable passed from Views), base.html (the skeleton template file) and the header.html (included by base.html). If if put the code below directly in base.html without including the header.html, the {{title}} variable passing from home is correctly called. But if I include the header.html in base.html, the {{title}} variable's value cannot be called. <title>{% block title %}{% endblock %} | {{ SITE_INFO_TITLE }}</title> Is there any solution to this problem?   I wrote code that generate Excel file using REST JAX-RS and I confirmed that the generated Excel file is in GlassFish server directory. But my goal is when user click on the button (which generate Excel .xls), I want download popup to show up asking user whether to save or open the .xls file just like any other web services doing for downloading any type of files. According to my search, the step is: generate Excel .xls (DONE) write the excel to stream in JAX-RS file, set response header to something like, String fileName = "Blah_Report.xls"; response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + fileName); My question is I'm doing all of this in JAX-RS file and I don't have HttpServletResponse object available. According to the answer from Add Response Header to JAX-RS Webservice He says: You can inject a reference to the actual HttpServletResponse via the @Context annotation in your webservice and use addHeader() etc. to add your header. I can't really figure what exactly that means without sample code..

• What are the app pool identity and account for anonymous access for?

  I understand what the two are used for, except I don't know what each does--i.e. what one is for vs. what the other is for. (I usually set them to the same account anyway.) If you're not sure what accounts I'm talking about, in the IIS manager thingy: Right-click on the app pool in question, go to Properties, and click the Identity tab to see the App Pool Identity. Right-click a Web site, go to Properties - Directory Security, and click Edit under Anonymous Access and authentication control to view the Account for anonymous access.

• What keying option does the keychain use?

  I have read into the keychain and have found that it uses Triple DES. What I can't find is what keying option it uses. I am guessing / hoping that its keying option 1 where all 3 passwords are unique but if thats the case I can only think of two passwords it can use (user password and App ID that comes from your dev cert) so where is the third coming from? Is it a key private to Apple? If its keying option 2 (first and third key are the same) it might not be secure enough for our company to rely on. Although that might sound paranoid I have to justify to our security department that it is secure enough.

• cURL PHP Proper SSL between private servers with self-signed certificate

  I originally had a connection between my 2 servers running with CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER set to "false" with no Common Name in the SSL cert to avoid errors. The following is the client code that connected to the server with the certificate: curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER,FALSE); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST,2); However, I recently changed this code (set it to true) and specified the computers certificate in PEM format. curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER,TRUE); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST,2); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_CAINFO,getcwd().'/includes/hostcert/Hostname.crt'); This worked great on the local network from a test machine, as the certificate is signed with it's hostname for a CN. How can I setup the PHP code so it only trusts the hostname computer and maintains a secure connection. I'm well aware you can just set CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST to "0" or "1" and CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER to "false", but these are not valid solutions as they break the SSL security.

  Dear all, Based on your experience, which is the route to go for a multi-tenant user login? One user login per account. Which means if there is one user that has access to multiple account, there will be redundancy of record in the database One user login for all account that she has privileges to. Which means one user record has access to multiple account if she has privileges to that account. From your experience, which one is better and why? I was thinking to choose the latter, but I don't know whether it will cause security issue or less flexibility. Thank you for sharing your experience.

  My web app (asp VB 2005) uses Windows authentication. If the user isn't part of a specific AD security group they don't get to edit the data; instead I redirect the user to a read-only page. The program works fine in the IDE. I published the web app to my laptop and Disabled anonymous access. When I ran the program I got redirected to the read-only page. I added a write event to the application event log to see what was going on, and found that the WindowsPrincipal.Identity.Name contained my laptop's ID, not my user name. I reassert: anonymous access is disabled in IIS and the web.config file has Windows Authentication. Can anyone suggest what else to check? Or can you explain what's going on?

• Blurred PNGs on UIView, using Interface Builder

  Hey everyone, I've added some UIImageViews with png images to my view, using interface builder. Initially they are added off-screen. Later, I animate them onto the screen with CoreAnimation, like so: [UIView beginAnimations:@"slide" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.1f]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; image.frame = CGRectMake(81+1, 390, 150, 80); [UIView commitAnimations]; Once they appear onscreen, they look really blurred or fuzzy. I've heard of this happening before. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

• Can I resolve ASP.NET "~" paths without a Control being present?

  I want to Resolve "~/whatever" from inside non-Page contexts such as Global.asax (HttpApplication), HttpModule, HttpHandler, etc. but can only find the Resolution methods specific to Controls (and Page). I think the app should have enough knowledge to be able to map this outside the Page context. No? Or at least it makes sense to me it should be resolvable in other circumstances, wherever the app root is known. Update: The reason being I'm sticking ~ paths in the web.configuration files.

• undefined local variable or method 'acts_as_gmappable'

  I attempted to install the gmaps4rails gem. I added gem 'gmaps4rails' to my Gemfile, and ran 'bundle install. It said that my bundle installed successfully. I can find "Using gmaps4rails (0.8.8)" with 'gem list'. I added the specified columns to my users table with rake db:migrate and added acts_as_gmappable and the gmaps4rails_address method to my User model. Visiting pages that involve the user model gives me "undefined local variable or method 'acts_as_gmappable'"error. Is there something that I am missing? For greater context, the code I am using is from the Rails 3 Tutorial. OS X 10.6.6 ruby 1.8.7 rails 3.0.7 passenger 3.0.7
