  • Problem in getting the path of a shortcut file!!

    In my application,I have an option of adding files to a list..were it will let the user to select multiple files at the same..am using CFileDialog to do tis and I enabled OFN_MULTISELECT (for multiselect)...The problem am facing is,When I try to add a shortcut file..its not taking the actual shortcut path,its reffering to the actual path.Actually I wanted to avoid shortcut file being added to my list,but every shortcut file that is being added does not have the extension ".lnk"(i dont know the reason). So,is there any way that we can neglect the shortcut file being added.

  • How can I extract a range of lines from a text file on unix?

    I have a ~23000 line sql dump containing several databases worth of data. I need to extract a certain section of this file (i.e. the data for a single database) and place it in a new file. I know both the start and end line numbers of the data that I want. Does anyone know a unix command (or series of commands) to extract all lines from a file between say line 16224 and 16482 and then redirect them into a new file?

If it did change, then there's a conflict and optimistic locking failed, according to Apple. But now, what's the consequence of this? What happens next? What are my options in this case?

    i am working on a online file management project.In which we are storing references on the database(sql server) and files data on the on file system;.In which we are facing a problem of coordination between file system and database while we are uploading a file and also in case of deleting a file that first we create a reference in the data base or store files on file system;;the problem is that if create a reference in the database first and then storing a file on file system.bur while storing files on the file system any type of error occur.then reference for that file is created in the database but no file data on the file system;; please give me some solution how to deal with such situation;;i am badly in need of it;; and reason for that?

  • [PHP] Does unsetting array values during iterating save on memory?

    Hello fellow code warriors, This is a simple programming question, coming from my lack of knowledge of how PHP handles array copying and unsetting during a foreach loop. It's like this, I have an array that comes to me from an outside source formatted in a way I want to change. A simple example would be: $myData = array('Key1' => array('value1', 'value2')); But what I want would be something like: $myData = array([0] => array('MyKey' => array('Key1' => array('value1', 'value2')))); So I take the first $myData and format it like the second $myData. I'm totally fine with my formatting algorithm. My question lies in finding a way to conserve memory since these arrays might get a little unwieldy. So, during my foreach loop I copy the current array value(s) into the new format, then I unset the value I'm working with from the original array. E.g.: $formattedData = array(); foreach ($myData as $key => $val) { // do some formatting here, copy to $reformattedVal $formattedData[] = $reformattedVal; unset($myData[$key]); } Is the call to unset() a good idea here? I.e., does it conserve memory since I have copied the data and no longer need the original value? Or, does PHP automatically garbage collect the data since I don't reference it in any subsequent code? The code runs fine, and so far my datasets have been too negligible in size to test for performance differences. I just don't know if I'm setting myself up for some weird bugs or CPU hits later on. Enhanced ModalPopup Control You can take advantage of the Ajax Control Toolkit ModalPopup control to easily create popup dialogs in your ASP.NET Web Forms applications. We fixed several major issues with the AsyncFileUpload including: It did not work in master pages It did not work when ClientIDMode=”Static” It did not work with Firefox 4 It did not work when multiple AsyncFileUploads were included in the same page It generated markup which was not HTML5 compatible The AsyncFileUpload control is a super useful control. It enables you to upload files in a form without performing a postback. UploadingBackColor – The color to display in the upload field while a file is being uploaded. ErrorBackColor – The color to display in the upload field when there is an error uploading a file. CompleteBackColor – The color to display in the upload field when the upload is complete. UploaderStyle – The user interface style: Traditional or Modern. PersistFile – When true, the uploaded file is persisted in Session state. The last property PersistFile, causes the uploaded file to be stored in Session state. That way, if completing a form requires multiple postbacks, then the user needs to upload the file only once. For example, if there is a server validation error, then the user is not required to re-upload the file after fixing the validation issue. In the sample code above, this condition is simulated by disabling client-side validation for the RequiredFieldValidator control. The RequiredFieldValidator EnableClientScript property has the value false.   • IIS not starting: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

    Ok, apparently a few people knew about this issue, but it is new to me and has caused me nearly an hour to track down today. What happened is that I’ve been working all day doing some final pre-deployment testing of several tools on my local dev machine. In the process I’ve been starting and stopping several IIS 7 Web sites. At some point I was done and just wanted to start my Default Web Site again and found this  little gem of an error message popping up: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070020) A lot of headless running around ensued after this, trying to figure out why IIS wouldn’t start. Oddly some sites started right up, others didn’t. I killed INetInfo, all worker processes, tried IISReset a million times and even rebooted – all to no avail. What gives? Skype, you evil Bastard! As it turns out the culprit is – drum roll please - Skype!  What, you may ask, does Skype have to do with IIS and Web Requests? It looks like recent versions of Skype have an option to run over Port 80 and 443 to allow running over corporate firewalls. Which is actually a nice feature that lets Skype work just about anywhere. What’s not so cool is that IIS fails to start up when another application is already using the same port that a Web site is mapped to. In the case of my dev site that’d be port 80 and Skype was hogging it. To fix this issue you can stop Skype from using port 80 and 443 which quickly fixes the problem. Or stop Skype. Duh! To permanently fix the problem in Skype find the option on the Options | Connection tab and uncheck the Use port 80/443 option: Oddly I haven’t run into this problem even though my setup hasn’t changed in quite some time. It appears that it’s bad startup timing that causes this problem to occur. Whatever the circumstance was, Skype somehow ended up starting before IIS.  If Skype is started after IIS has started it will automatically opt for other ports and not use port 80 and so there’s no problem. It’s easy to demonstrate this behavior if you’re looking for it: Stop IIS Stop Skype Start Skype and make a test call Start IIS And voila your error is ready for you! This really shouldn’t be a problem except that it would be really nice if IIS could give a more helpful error message when it can fire up a site because a port is blocked. “The process cannot access a file” is really not a very helpful error message in this scenario… I/O port / file ah what the heck it’s all the same to Windows. Right! I’ve run into this situation quite a bit with other, albeit more obvious applications like running Apache on the local machine for testing and then trying to run an IIS application. Same situation,  although it’s been a while – pre IIS 7 and I think previous versions of IIS actually gave more useful error messages for port blockages and that would be helpful. On the way to figuring this out I ran into some pretty humorous forum posts though with people ragging on why the hell you would be running IIS. Or Skype. The misinformed paranoia police out in full force so to say :-). It’ll be nice to start running IIS Express once Visual Studio 2010 SP1 gets released. Anyway, no surprise that Skype didn’t jump out at me as the culprit right away and I was left fumbling for a while until the Internet came to the rescue. I’m not the first to have found this for sure – I posted a message on Twitter and dozens of people replied they’d run into this before as well. Seems worth mentioning again though – since I’m sure to forget that this happened in a year from now when I hit that same error.     Hi, My W2K3 server was running TFS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Development edition. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard. I installed it while leaving SQL Server 2005 alone. Upgrading was not possible due to the differences in editions of the SQL Servers. Now TFS is broken. On a client computer, if I go Team - Connect to Team Foundation Server, I get this error: Team Foundation services are not available from server myserver.   • How to generate customized sudoers files in puppet depending on the environment they're deployed to?

    the sysadmins are present in the sudoers files of all environments, but other sudoers are not. Different environments all have slightly different sudoers. Most of the time, 90% of users are the same, and 10% vary so we cannot have only one sudoers file for everything. Right now, we are using puppet with 10 different files with names like sudoers.production1, sudoers.production2, sudoers.production3, sudoers.testing1, sudoers.staging1 and so forth. Puppet then picks the file to deploy based on the server's $domain (ex: dbserver.staging1.acme.com) or $hardwaremodel. It works fine but it's a nightmare to maintain so many files. I'd like to autogenerate sudoers files based on the server's domain and have only one big file with all the sudoers permissions for all users and all environments. Something that looks like: User_Alias ADMINS = abe, bob, carol, dave case $domain { "staging1.acme.com" { #add dev1,dev2,tester1,tester2 to sudoers file } "testing2.acme.com" { #add tester1, tester3, tester4 to sudoers file } What's the best way to go about this? Suggestions for alternatives are welcome. I'd appreciate any tips. Update 1: For security reasons, we'd rather not concatenate a bunch of files from a folder located on a puppet client in case someone puts a file in there (maliciously or not) and either breaks the combined file or inserts something in it. Most importantly, for usability, we'd like to keep the number of sudoers related files (fragment or complete) on puppet server to either 3 (prod/stage/test) or preferably 1 file. this file would (somehow) generate sudoers files on the puppet server and send one customized file to each puppet client. The purpose of this would be only searching for a username in a single file and removing it quicker than doing it on 11 files. When adding a user to a bunch of environments, it won't be as quick, but only one file would need to be opened and looked at, greatly reducing the chances of an omission. our Sudo version is 1.6.9p8 so we can't use /sudoers.d folder, only a sudoers file.

  • How to find hidden/cloak files in Windows 2003?

    Here is the point. I set Windows to display all the hidden files and protected operating system files but even after that, my antivirus (Kaspersky) is still getting a ".dll" file on "c:\windows\system32" saying it's a riskware 'Hidden.Object'. I tried to find this file everytime but it's not there. So I asked one of the developers to create a service that verifies the folder each 5 seconds and, if it founds the file, copies to another place. If it copies to another place with the same name and extension, I still can't find the file on the other folder but Kaspersky now founds both. If I keep the same name but with a different extension, like ".temp123", I still can't find the file. Lastly, I created an empty text file and renamed with the same name as the other one, the file just gone too. After all this research It's clear that every file with this same name on this specific server gets cloak, doesn't matter the file extension. I created a file with this same name on another server and nothing happens, the file is still there without problem. How can I found this kind of file? How can I "uncloak" it? How can I know what this file is doing?
