  i have 4 tabs on my main screen, main ( set to current ) , Call, Email, Web When a user clicks on any of tab call, email or web, it starts making a call, or go to compose a email, or opens up the browser respectfully. • iPhone OpenGL ES freezes for no reason

  Hi, I'm quite new to iPhone OpenGL ES, and I'm really stuck. I was trying to implement shadow mapping on iPhone, and I allocated two 512*1024*32bit textures for the shadow map and the diffuse map respectively. The problem is that my application started to freeze and reboot the device after I added the shadow map allocation part to the code (so I guess the shadow map allocation is causing all this mess). It happens randomly, but mostly within 10 minutes. (sometimes within a few secs) And it only happens on the real iPhone device, not on the virtual device. I backtracked the problem by removing irrelevant code lines by lines and now my code is really simple, but it's still crashing (I mean, freezing). Could anybody please download my xcode project linked below and see what on earth is wrong? The code is really simple: http://www.tempfiles.net/download/201004/95922/CrashTest.html I would really appreciate if someone can help me. My iPhone is a 3GS and running on the OS version 3.1. Again, run the code and it'll take about 5 mins in average for the device to freeze and reboot. (Don't worry, it does no harm) It'll just display cyan screen before it freezes, but you'll be able to notice when it happens because the device will reboot soon, so please be patient. Just in case you can't reproduce the problem, please let me know. (That could possibly mean it's specifically my device that something's wrong with) Observation: The problem goes away when I change the size of the shadow map to 512*512. (but with the diffuse map still 512*1024) I'm desperate for help, thanks in advance! • Trouble on setting SSL certificates for Virtual Hosts using Apache\Phusion Passenger in localhost

  I am using Ruby on Rails 3 and I would like to make to work HTTPS connections on localhost. I am using: Apache v2 + Phusion Passenger Mac OS + Snow Leopard v10.6.6 My Ruby on Rails installation use the Typhoeus gem (it is possible to use the Ruby net\http library but the result doesn't change) to make HTTP requests over HTTPS. I created self-signed ca.key, pjtname.crt and pjtname.key as detailed on the Apple website. Notice: Following instruction from the Apple website, on running the openssl req -new -key server.key -out server.csr command (see the link) at this point Common Name (eg, YOUR name) []: (this is the important one) I entered *pjtname.com so that is valid for all sub_domain of that site. • Why is android:FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND creating a gradient background in my new activity instead of bluring

  Hi, I've got two activities. One is supposed to be a blur in front of the other. The background activity has several ImageViews which are set up as thin gradients extending across most of the screen and 10dip high. When I start the second activity it sets the background as a gradient occupying the entire window space, that is it appears to be fill_parent'd for both height and width. If I comment out the ImageViews then it blurs and looks as expected. Any thoughts? • Why should main() be short?

  I've been programming for over 9 years, and according to the advice of my first programming teacher, I always keep my main() function extremely short. At first I had no idea why. I just obeyed without understanding, much to the delight of my professors. After gaining experience, I realized that if I designed my code correctly, having a short main() function just sortof happened. Writing modularized code and following the single responsibility principle allowed my code to be designed in "bunches", and main() served as nothing more than a catalyst to get the program running. It seems as though Python did the "Intro to Programming 101" trick and just moved all of main()'s code to a different function called it something very similar to "main". Here's my question: Is this code terribly written, or are there other reasons reasons to have a short main function? As it stands right now, I see absolutely no difference between doing this and just moving the code in Py_Main() back into main(). Am I wrong in thinking this?

• Tracking finger move in order to rotate a triangle : tracking is not perfect

  I've written a custom view, with the OpenGL_1 technology, in order to let user rotate a red triangle just by dragging it along x axis. (Will give a rotation around Y axis). It works, but there is a bit of latency when dragging from one direction to the other (without releasing the mouse/finger). So it seems that my code is not yet "goal perfect". (I am convinced that no code is perfect in itself). I thought of using a quaternion, but maybe it won't be so usefull : must I really use a Quaternion (or a kind of Matrix) ? I've designed application for Android 4.0.3, but it could fit into Android api 3 (Android 1.5) as well (at least, I think it could).   So, I'm trying to replicate MSDN "pseudoframes" here. Their pages are laid out like they're using an old-school frameset, but inspecting their elements with firebug reveals they've done this with purely div's. Here's my attempt at it. • Calling Status Bar notification from method from other class.

  Firstly, I am new to both android and Java. I have two classes, my main.class and Note.class. I am calling the notification method from my Note.class in my main.class when i press a button. The issue is with this line from the Note.class : PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0); notification.setLatestEventInfo(context, contentTitle, contentText, contentIntent); When the method is called it force closes. I believe the problem to be with the "this" in PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0);, but I am unsure what to change it to. The notification code works fine if it's in the main class. I would be very grateful for any guidance.
