  Thanks to Col. Shrapnel I am using a VERY basic PHP script to send emails. The form is located here. This is the script: <?php mail('[email protected]','Live Date Submission',implode("\n\n",$_POST)); header("Location: thankyou.html"); ?> When a user submits the form, they are redirected to a thankyou.html page. I want to edit the code to display a javascript alert, instead of a redirect. I don't have much PHP knowledge, so how would I edit this code to return a alert instead of a redirect?

• Converting Multiple files to zip and saving them in ownCloud

  I wanted to convert an array with some css, js and html files into a zip file and save them in ownCloud (it has it's own framework but it's knowledge is not required.) What I am saving is an infinite loop of zip files, as in, a zip inside a zip so I can't even check that the code is working correctly or not. Please help. • php database session handling problem in IE8!

  I've got an html page from where Im making this call periodically: function logon(id) { $.get("data.php", { action: 'online', userID: id}, function(data){ $("#msg").html(data); }); } What this does is it calls this SQL script in data.php: $sql = "update user_sessions set expires=(expires + 2) where userID = $userID"; mysql_query($sql, $conn) or die(mysql_error()); echo $sql; I can see by the echo that the sql syntax and values are correct, but THE CHANGES TO THE expires FIELD ARE NOT DONE, ONLY IN IE8!! It works fine in other ff, safari, chrome, ie6 and 7. There is nothing browser specific about making this sql call, but the user_sessions table is used to store PHP's sessions. Im only increasing the session expiry time when the call is made. What in IE8's session handling is preventing the session time from changing? Is there any caching or cookie problem that needs to be changed?

  Hi, I have an app that loads an ajax form when a button is clicked. I then want to check a value in that ajax loaded form called "comment_content" so that I don't send an ajax request if the comment_content is empty. I can capture the form submission using the live method, however, I can't capture the form element because it needs an element. I was looking at livequery but was wondering if there is a more efficient way by using live or if that I shouldn't even bother?   Hey guys, I'm new to Django and jQuery, but I have a lot of python experience. I'm basically trying to write an HTML form, with one text box for now, that as you type in it, shows you auto completion options. this will be used for finding restaurants, and I intend to use the Yelp API for that. can someone please point me out in a direction of a tutorial on how to do this - specifically with regards to the Django / HTML / jQuery rather than how to work with the Yelp API? Are there any tutorials I should read? All tutorials I have found are very basic ones that build forms from the Django data models.. Thanks!

• Dreamweaver utf-8 encoded php page displays wrong chinese character in IE and Chrome, correct in FF

  I have an issue with character encoding: I have this page: http://www.studiomille.jp/class/ (its in japanese but the character in question is from chinese i think) FF shows it correctly, IE (all versions) and Chrome doesn't (sorry larger screenshots): FF Screenshot: IE Screenshot: (there are other character that are different throughout the site, this is just one example) Everything is set to UTF-8: * PHP sends header: Content-Type:text/html; charset=UTF-8 * PHP starts with: mb_language('uni'); mb_internal_encoding('UTF-8'); * meta tag: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> * all files are saved with UTF-8 encoding with DreamWeaver CS3 * the same font is used in all the browsers. On that page nothing comes from the db, everything is hard coded. The site has the same behavior on my localhost too. So why only FF gets it right and how can I make it work on IE also?

  Hi, How do I do this on a php webpage? I want to get and decode a json string and display the results as html on my page, however, I don't want it hotlinking back to the source. If I could write the decoded string to a txt file say weather.txt on the server and keep the html formatting and do it so that the page won't fetch the json script until 60 minutes has passed since the last time it was fetched regardless of how many times the page is opened during that 60 minute period and the weather.txt is viewed. All I can come up with is a simple script that hotlinks, everything else I have tried simply failed. $file = file_get_contents('http://sample.com/weather'); $out = (json_decode($file)); echo $out-mainText; Will appreciate any help with this.

• JQuery delegate what may cause it to not function

  I have a webpage using jquery 1.42 The following 2 segments of code live in my page. $('body').delegate('h2', 'click', function() { $(this).after("<p>delegate paragraph!<\/p>"); }); $('body h2').live('click', function() { $(this).after("<p>live paragraph!<\/p>"); }); The live method always works, yet the delegate doesn't fire at all. If I create a trivial page with simple html <body><h2>blah</h2></body> both approaches work. So I'm assuming there is something else going on in my page. With firebug I am seeing no javascript errors, no html errors. and breakpoints on the delegate method definately do not get hit. What else might be the cause of delegate not triggering?

  Hi, On a 2003 server box, with SQL server 2008 installed (ReportServer deployed in IIS mode), I've got a virtual directory within IIS with it's security set to 'windows authentication', with the following html code: <body> <h1>test</h1> <iframe src="/reportserver" witdh="50%" height="50%" /> </body> From the outside, I've got a first login/pwd box displayed to access the html code, then a second one to display the content of the iframe. On the same type of server, but with SQL Server 2005, I don't have this issue (i.e. only one login box). My thought is that the first token should give acces to both the page and the iframe, isn't it? Any hints on how to setup the reportserver to fix this? thanks.
