• How can I change GWT's widget CSS values?

  Basically, I like default theme widgets. However, I need to change font size on DecoratedStackPanel widget. I think it should be possible with something like this: decoratedStackPanel.getElement().getStyle().setProperty("fontSize", "12pt"); However, "fontSize" is not valid name for property and I didn't find way how to get all element's properties. Therefore, I don't know correct property name. Any ideas? Please, don't post about inheriting widget or writing custom CSS. I like default one but the font size. This should be possible afaik.

  I need to monitor my audio line-in in linux, and in the event that audio is played, the sound must be recorded and saved to a file. Similiar to how motion monitors the video feed. • Column.DbType affecting runtime behavior

  Hi According to the MSDN docs, the DbType property/attribute of a Column type/element is only used for database creation. Yet, today, when trying to submit data to an IMAGE column on a SQLCE database (not sure if only on CE), I got an exception of 'Data truncated to 8000 bytes'. This was due to the DbType still being defined as VARBINARY(MAX) which SQLCE does not support. Changing the type to IMAGE in the DbType fixes the issue. So what other surprises does Linq2SQL attributes hold in store? Is this a bug or intended? Should I report it to MS? UPDATE After getting the answer from Guffa, I tested it, but it seems for NVARCHAR(10) adding a 11 char length string causes a SQL exception, and not Linq2SQL one. The data was truncated while converting from one data type to another.   hello to all, my client wants to play a flash video in their website. just to make sure i understand correctly, i need to: 1. create an FLV file 2. use either some flv player or wrap the flv inside swf questions: 1. the player option - will visitor have to download /install it or is it install only once, in the website itself? any FREE player you can recommend the will ensure cross browser compatibility? swf option: will i need the flash application in order to do the wrapping? will i be able to later use something like flashobject library for the actual embedding? what are the main considerations for choosing between the two options , if indeed these are the options? any help would be highly appreciated. have a nice day and let's pray for a lot of goals today :-)

• How can I determine img width/height of dynamically loaded images in IE?

  My markup is a simple div element with id 'load'. Using jQuery I then load a list of image elements into this div: $('#load').load('images.html', { }, function() { $(this).onImagesLoad({ selectorCallback: function() { ....do something.... } }); }); where images.html is a list like this: <img src='1.jpg' caption='img 1'> <img src='2.jpg' caption='img 2'> ... To ensure that all images are loaded completely, I use the onImagesLoad plugin. This, so far, works just fine on all browsers. However, on IE8 (and I assume other versions of IE also) when I then iterate over the img elements, I am unable to determine the width/height of the images loaded. The image.context.naturalWidth and naturalHeight attributes don't seem to work. How do I get a hold of the images' dimension? Thanks heaps :)

  I have a list of strings (company names, in this case), and a Java program that extracts a list of things that look like company names out of mostly-unstructured text. I need to match each element of extracted text to a string in the list. Caveat: the unstructured text has typos, things like "Blah, Inc." referred to as "Blah," etc. I've tried Levenshtein Edit Distance, but that fails for predictable reasons. Are there known best-practices ways of tackling this problem? Or am I back to manual data-entry?

  I have just recently discovered the difference between different constructors in GDI+. Going: var bmp = new Bitmap(width, height, pixelFormat); creates a DDB (Device Dependent Bitmap) whereas: var bmp = new Bitmap(someFile); creates a DIB (Device Independent Bitmap). This is really not usually important, except when handling very large images (where a DDB will run out of memory, and run out of memory at different sizes depending on the machine and its video memory). I need to create a DIB rather than DDB, but specify the height, width and pixelformat. Does anyone know how to do this in DotNet. Also is there a guide to what type of Bitmap (DIB or DDB) is being created by which Bitmap constructor?

  I have a long string and a set of <end-index, string> list like the following: long_sentence = "This is a long long long long sentence" indices = [[6, "is"], [8, "is a"], [18, "long"], [23, "long"]] An element 6, "is" indicates that 6 is the end index of the word "is" in the string. I want to get the following string in the end: >> print long_sentence This .... long ......... long sentence" I tried an approach like this: temp = long_sentence for i in indices: temp = temp[:int(i[0]) - len(i[1])] + '.'*(len(i[1])+1) + temp[i[0]+1:] While this seems to be working, it is taking exceptionally long time (more than 6 hours on 5000 strings inside a 300 MB file). Is there a way to speed this up?

  Hi I am new to Regex, however I decided it was the easiest route to what I needed to do. Basically I have a string (in PHP) which contains a whole load of HTML code... I want to remove any tags which have style=display:none... so for example <img src="" style="display:none" /> <img src="" style="width:11px;display: none" > etc... So far my Regex is: <img.*style=.*display.*:.*none;.* > But that seems to leave bits of html behind and also take the next element away when used in php with preg_replace.

  Is it possible to undo a switchClass transaition? I'd like an element to slowly obtain class A as you hover over it, and slowly lose it again once the mouse has moved away. However, the function appears to be glitchy, and calling .stop(0,1) doesn't seem to help. In fact, it seems to break it. I have a live example here. Yes, it's a 404 page, but that's not important. The navigation should be slowly gaining or losing a class, but it just jumps. The script can be found here. Is such a transition possible?

• What are my options for streaming for silverlight?

  I would like to implement limited scope streaming (LAN, multicast, even broadcast) where the client is implemented in silverlight. More importantly, I would like to stream from a desktop OS, not a server OS. As a result, I can't use the MS media server, which I believe requires WS2003 or WS2008. Ideally the solution would have some sort of API so I can plug in or provide a custom frame source. If I need to encode my own video, how can I encode using H.264 or another Silverlight supported codec? if I need to implement my own server, where can I find information about how a client starts to receive a stream? thank you! I know, it's a lot of questions, but it basically boils down to "how do I stream from a non-server OS?"

  I'd like to enforce standardized keys by storing them as static final String variables on a Java class, and either referencing or statically importing them, to use them as values in either XML, Strings, Methods, Annotations, etc. Does anyone know a good way to have Maven insert (like filtering) values like StringKeys.SOME_KEY into an XML file? e.g. something like <element value="${StringKeys.SOME_KEY}"/> or similar - the main idea is to enforce commonality and prevent key mis-alignment. Or an alternative solution to accomplish the same - with some semantic that if a non-existant String is referenced, that it fails during build? Bonus points if it works in C# as well.

• Low memory with 640Kb of live bytes?

  Hello, i've a problem with my application that need to display a lot of images and video. After running ObjectAlloc tool, i see that the live bytes is 640Kb and the overall memory is 31,54Mb when the application crash. In the organizer i get a "low memory" report so i guess the app crashed because low memory but the ObjectAllocation data don't make any sense to me... Any ideas?   Currently, I have extracted depth points to construct a 3D model from 2 stereo cameras. The methods I have used are openCV graphCut method and a software from http://sourceforge.net/projects/reconststereo/. However, the generated 3D models are not very accurate, which leads me to question: 1) What is the problem with pixel-based method? 2) Should I change my pixel-based method to feature-based or object-recognition-based method? Is there a best method? 3) Are there any other ways to do such reconstruction? Additionally, the depth extracted comes only from 2 images. What if I am turning the camera 360 degrees to obtain a video? Looking forward to suggestion on how to combine this depth information. Thank you very much :)

• Actionscript NetStream.play drops port in relative URLs

  Hi, the current page my flash application is running from is http://localhost:3000/. I'm trying to play a video using NetStream.play(relativeURL) by using a relative URL (e.g. "myVideo.flv"), but when I look at the actual request made by actionscript, it's dropping the port number. (e.g. http://localhost/myVideo.flv). Is there something I can do on the flash side to make this work? Is anyone else having this problem?

What will be the SQL Query for this? A LINQ query will be more better. If you know a better way to achieve this, please help.

  OK, I am a big fan of WPF, and while it is large area to fully understand, Microsoft has been great in posting loads of training video at http://windowsclient.net/learn/videos_wpf.aspx However with the release of 2010 it all seams to have gone very quiet. I expected a lot of the support to be updated for 2010 and I also expected a lot of new videos on the best way to use the new features in 2010. Currently I find myself working through videos based on 2008 (or even 2005) and trying to apply them to 2010. Don't get me wrong it not that I mind doing this, it just that I fear I may be learning methods which have better or different solutions in 2010. It is just me expecting too much of Microsoft, or have I missed out on a new website?

  I'm a PulseAudio noob, and I'm not sure if I'm even using the correct terminology. I've seen that PulseAudio can perform echo cancellation, but it needs a source and a sink to filter from, and a new source and sink. I can provide my mic and my audio-out as the source and sink, right? Now, here's my situation: I have two video streams, say, rtmp streams, or consider two flv files, say at any given moment, stream X is the input stream that's coming from another computer's webcam+mic and stream Y is the output stream that I'm sending, (and it's coming from my computer's webcam+mic). Question: Back to the first paragraph - here's the thing, I don't want to use my mic and my audio-out, instead, I want to use these two "input" and "output" streams as my source and sink so to speak (of course, I'll use xuggler maybe, to extract just the audio from X and Y). It may be a strange question, and I have my reasons for doing this strange this - I need to experiment and verify the results to see.
