• How to connect to a third party website in classic asp using javascript for password encryption and yet not giving in the password.

  Hi I have to make changes to classic asp website where once a button is clicked it autologins to a third party website with a intermediate page that warns that you are logging in to a third party website. The thirdparty is providing us with a username and password and gave us an examle javascript to encode the password to send to them. Now where do I store the userid and password. I cannot execute the javascript on the serverside. It has to go to the client. If the asp page which has the encryption javascript goes to the client side then the source can be viewed and the username and password is given out. Is there a way that I can have hidden asp page whose only job is to encrypt the password and create a new url and auto redirect it to that new url. So when the user clicks ok on the intermediate warning page I redirect it to this hidden asp page which does the encryption and a creates a url for get method and redirects to that page. I am a novice as far as java script and classic asp is concerned. Any ideas/ advice will be appreciated. Thanks, --Abbi

• Unable to set row height for grid view

  I tried to set a row height for each row of my grid view in visual studio. However, it does not work. The row height will not change according to the pixel that I typed in. • Reference to the Main Form whilst trying to Serialize objects in C#

  I have a button on my main form which calls a method to serialize some objects to disk. So that means that somewhere in the objects I'm trying to save there must be a reference to the main form. The only possible references I can see are 3 delegates which all point to methods in the main form code. Do delegates get serialized as well? I can't seem to apply the [NonSerialized] attribute to them. Is there anything else I might be missing? Even better, is there a quick method to find the reference(s) that are causing the problem?

• Detect and handle, or override, clicks on a navigation bar

  I have an app where I've pushed two items onto the navigation bar. The top item, which ends up as a 'back' button, should have the function to jump all the way back to the start page, which is a list of web news. The other one simply displays a logo. The boss wants a navigation bar look and feel but with a simple function, so the user can click around the news site, but always be able to jump to the news list page with just the one click. Is the only option to create a fixed navbar with two items in IB, so that I can connect an outlet to the clickable item - or is there some way to intercept clicks to the navbar to make a requestURL? touchesBegan or touchUpInside would be fine, but I've found no way of implementing that so far. It's okay if the whole navbar is clickable, I just need some hint how to make it happen. Add a transparent UIlabel on top and detect clicks for that, maybe? A bonus would be to hide the item in the 'back' position without popping it from the stack.

• using 'or' operator not working for menu

  In my code here, I have a CSS class called "active" which I use if the $_GET['page'] == tutorials, php, mysql, etc... The problem is, even if the 'page' variable is not equal to any of these values, the Tutorials button in this case is still active for some reason. Any ideas why this would be happening? • SVG rotation animation having problems on chrome for jelly bean, is there a workaround?

  I've got a strange problem with chrome on jellybean running svg animations triggered from javascript. This JSFiddle example works fine on chrome and firefox on linux, but when I run it on android with chrome I get the final step of the animation painted at the beginning of the animation. I've tried this on both an Nexus 7 and Transformer Prime, they both have the problem. I've tested using firefox on the android devices and the problem doesn't exist. So I'm presuming that it's a defect with chrome. However I've seen other animations using svg that do not have this problem in chrome on jellybean. Is anyone aware of a way to get around this problem, or is there something that I'm doing in my animation/js that is a possible cause of the problem? I've now created a bug report at code.google.com, however I still need a workaround, if anyone can help me (or in case I'm doing something stupid). I've now discovered that this is reproducible on chrome for linux (and I suspect windows). If you click on the button to start the animation before the previous animation has completed then the problem occurs. In this case the hand is drawn at the end of the 45 degree sweep before it starts the sweep. I now suspect that I should be calling something to stop the animation before I change the animation. Anyway, hopefully someone can resolve this problem.

• Weird exception: Cannot cast String to Boolean when using getBoolean

  I'm getting a very weird error. I have 2 activities. On both I'm getting the SharedPreferences using MODE_PRIVATE (if it matters) by sp = getPreferences(MODE_PRIVATE); on each activity's onCreate() I'm calling sp.getBoolean(IntroActivity.SHOW_INTRO, true) On the IntroActivity this works fine. • Continue gif animation after escape is pressed

  Firefox (and other browsers i believe) stop gif animation when you click the Stop button or invoke it via the Escape key. I have a text input that on change makes ajax requests to update other elements. As part of this ajaxyness i have an animated gif to show feedback. I also trap the escape key press in this input so as to clear the text field for better UX. My problem is after the escape key is pressed once, none of the ajax gifs animate anymore until the page is refreshed. Does anyone know a workaround? Stuff i've tried: I tried the e.stopPropagation(); and e.cancelBubble = true; in the function handling the e.keyCode == 27 and that didn't seem to work. I suspect that this stops trigging more js events and the browser catches the escape irrespective of js activity. I have the gif showing/hiding via adding/removing a css class so it's difficult to apply the "change gif url to reset" workaround. I dont even know if this works anyway - didn't test it. But it seems difficult. If anyone knows that this works and knows of an easy way to apply the hack with background-image: url(../images/ajax-loader_dotcirclel13x13.gif); css then please let me know.

• Telerik chart not loading correctly in new window (ajax issue?)

  I have a page which contains user controls with Telerik Charts (grids also, but they work fine). From this page, the user can click on a button to be redirected to a "Printer-Friendly Version" type page, which opens a new window via javascript and goes through a slightly different view (for formatting and stuff), but the telerik code is all the same. The problem is, my Chart displays just fine in the original window, but the new window displays basically an empty chart with no data. This bug is only present in IE, and only applies to Charts. Grids work fine, for whatever reason. I'm thinking this is due to differences in script caching between browsers -- correct me if I'm wrong, I'm semi-new to client-directed web development. Anyway I read somewhere that Telerik has issues with loading data and/or js files when loaded via ajax, so maybe that's the problem? If so, how could I get around this? And if not, any ideas on what could be causing this issue? It's causing me a great deal of frustration, since a print preview page seems like it should be the easiest of jobs. Edit: The charts are being rendered as html (if somebody can explain how to render them as images, that would be awesome). And dev tools shows basically the same thing between chrome and IE. Whenever my web service goes back up ill WinMerge them and look for any peculiarities/differences between them. In the mean time, though, the "render as an image" concept sounds promising. That way I could just save the image from the first page, and insert it right into the print preview page, right?. And since it's a print-preview page, it's not going to need to be interactive or anything, so that'd work out nicely. Another (important) Edit: These are probably the culprit... • Android - Where to store generated bitmaps?

  I've got an app which dynamically generates anywhere from 6 to 100 small bitmaps for the user to move around the screen in a given session. I currently generate them in onCreate and store them to the sd card, so that after an orientation change I can grab them out of external storage and display them again. However, this takes time (the loading) and I'd like to keep the bitmap references around between lifecyle changes for quicker access. My question is, is there a better place to store my generated bitmaps? I was thinking about creating a static storage library in my base activity, something that would only need to be reloaded when the app is completely removed from memory (shutdown, other apps need resources, 30 minute restart, etc). Ideally, I'd like the user to be able to back out to the title screen, click a "Resume" button, and in onCreate I just have access to those resident bitmap references instead of having to load them from storage again. For this reason I don't think Activity.onRetainNonConfigurationInstance is what I need. Alternatively, is there a better way to handle multiple generated bitmaps than what I'm doing or the plan I described?

• iframe created dynamically with javascript not reloading parent URL

  I can't seem to reload the parent page from within an iframe even though the domain for my iframe and the parent page appear to be the same. The IFRAME was created dynamically, rather than in the HTML page source, so could that be the problem? The iframe I'm working with is here http://www.avaline.com/ R3000_3 once you log in. You may use user:[email protected] pass: test03 Once logged in, hit the "order sample" button, and then hit "here" where it says "Your Third Party Shipper Numbers (To enter one, click here.)". I tried using javascript statements window.top.location.reload(),window.parent.location.reload(),window.parent.location.href=window.parent.location.href but none of those worked in FF 3.6 so I didn't move on to the other browsers although I am shooting for a cross-browser solution. I put the one-line javascript statements inside setTimeout("statement",2000) so people could read the content of the iframe before the redirect happens, but that shouldn't affect the execution of the statements... I wish I could test and debug the statements with the Firebug console from within the Iframe.

• Android: Resolution issue while saving image into gallery

  I've managed to programmatically take a photo from the camera, then display it on an imageview, and then after pressing a button, saving it on the Gallery. It works, but the problem is that the saved photo are low resolution.. WHY?! • How to make Firefox extension auto install in nav bar?

  I'm working on a Firefox extension. I'd like to make it auto-install in the far right position on the nav bar when a user installs it. As it stands, a user has to go to View Toolbars Customize... and drag the extension to the nav bar once it's installed. I'd like to eliminate this step. • How to read a parameter passed to a facelet from a backing bean

  Hi, I've written a facelet, and a corresponding backing bean, that implements user management (addition, deletion and so on). I'd want to be able to perform some custom processing when, for instance, a new user is added. There is a "create" button in the facelet, whose click event is handled by its backing bean. At the end of the event handler, I'd want to be able to call a method of another backing bean, which is not known because ideally the facelet can be used in several pages, with different custom processing. I thought to implement this feature by providing to the facelet a backing bean name and a method name, like this: <myfacelet:subaccounts backingBean="myBackingBean" createListener="createListener" /> and at the end of the event handler call #{myBackingBean.createListener} someway. In my case, the value of backingBean, which should be myBackingBean? I've searched for and tried different solutions, but with no luck yet.

• Image jQuery scroller in a container. (like facebook cropper) can't get values of position.

  Hey all. Having a reallllll mind pain. I have a php image uploader which is all good and sotring the file and the jquery ajax is returning the image in an ammended html div with a div set up like this: #crop-holder { width:80px; height:80px; margin:10px 10px 20px 10px; border:1px #c0c0c0 solid; overflow:hidden; cursor:move; } The image is viewing fine and I am using the jquery scrollview plugin: http://code.google.com/p/jquery-scrollview/ I have tried adding a few lines to the plugin to store variables of scrollTop and Left and then replacing two hidden input values with x and y in my page. And then on the returned ajax html in the div I am trying to on a button click (for example) retrieve the values of the two hidden inputs.... Heres what i added to the plugin (i'm no js expert!): .mouseout(function(){ var _m = this.m; var lasty = _m.scrollTop(); getElementById("ycord").value = lasty; var lastx = _m.scrollLeft(); getElementById("xcord").value = lastx; self.stopgrab(); }) Still no luck!! But not i am trying to integrate Jasper with GWT.I have my server as glass fish server.   Hi, I recently discovered that different browsers handle the onclick event differently when the control of shift key is pressed. Same thing for following links with the middle mouse button. <a href="http://www.example.com/" onclick="alert('onclick');">go to example.com</a> Onclick browser support table Mouse Keyboard Chrome Firefox Safari Opera IE5.5 IE6 IE7 IE8 IE9 Left None yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Left Ctrl yes yes yes yes ? yes no no ? Left Shift yes yes yes yes ? yes yes yes ? Middle None yes no yes no ? N/A no no ? Can someone please fill in the question marks for me? Also; I'm wondering if the behaviour differs for each version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera. Finding a logical pattern in this behaviour would be even nicer, but I don't think there is :).   I have a file which is loaded at the top of my document, which is called Videos.php. Inside that file are several functions, such as getYoutubeVideos. On some pages, I need to call upon that function several times (up to 50), and it of course creates major lag on load times. So I have been trying to figure out how to call that function in, only when it is need (when someone clicks the show videos button). I have very little experience with jQuery's ajax abilities. • Giving writing permissions for IIS user at Windows 2003 Server

  I am running a website over Windows 2003 Server and IIS6 and I am having problems to write or delete files in some temporary folder obtaining this kind of warmings: Warning: unlink(C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cakephp\app\tmp\cache\persistent\myapp_cake_core_cake_): Permission denied in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cakephp\lib\Cake\Cache\Engine\FileEngine.php on line 254 I went to the tmp directory and at the properties I gave the IIS User the following permissions: Read & Execute List folder Contents Read And it still showing the same warnings. When I am on the properties window, if I click on Advanced the IIS username appears twice. One with Allow type and read & execute permissions and the other with Deny type and Special permissions. My question is: Should I give this user not only the Read & Execute permissions but also this ones?: Create Attributes Create Files/ Write Data Create Folders/ Append Data Delete Subfolders and Files Delete They are available to select if I Click on the edit button over the username. Wouldn't I be opening a security hole if I do this? Otherwise, how can I do to read and delete the files my website uses? Thanks.
