• Missing elements of collection

  I have a collection ObservableCollection<string> outoverList And i have a function which call collection outoverList.Add("out:"+element.tagName); Function call collection a few times, but sometimes collection lost elements. We call a function - function adds element - collection has 9 elements(for example) - in the next function calling collection has only 8 elements. One elements be missing. Here Resharpers Find usages log: Search target FindElementHandler.outoverList:ObservableCollection<string> Found 3 usages in solution <FindElementExperiments> (3 items) FindElementHandler.cs (3 items) (50,13) outoverList = new ObservableCollection<string>(); (94,13) outoverList.Add("out:"+element.tagName); (118,13) outoverList.Add("over:" + element.tagName); As you can see i just add elements to collection everywhere. i havent remove elements code. • Calling ASP.NET Web API using JQuery ajax - cross site scripting issue

  I have a Web API which I am calling using the JQuery ajax function. When I test the service directly (using the Chrome RESTEasy extension) it works fine, however when I call it using the JQuery ajax function I get an error. I'm calling it on port 81: $.ajax({ url: "http://127.0.0.1:81/api/people", data: JSON.stringify(personToCreate), type: "POST", contentType: "application/json;charset=utf-8", statusCode: { 201: function (newPerson) { callback(newPerson); } }, success: function (newPerson) { alert("New person created with an Id of " + newPerson.Id); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert('Error. '+textStatus+'. '+errorThrown); } }); ...but when I trace it using FireBug Lite the response comes from port 82: {"Message":"No HTTP resource was found that matches the request URI 'http://127.0.0.1:82/api/people'.","MessageDetail":"No action was found on the controller 'People' that matches the request."} I think the error is, effectively, due to cross-site scripting being blocked, but I'm not actually cross-site scripting, if you see what I mean. Has anyone else come across this and been able to fix it? Edit: Routing config (global.asax.vb) is: RouteTable.Routes.MapHttpRoute(name:="DefaultApi", routeTemplate:="api/{controller}/{id}", defaults:=New With {Key .id = System.Web.Http.RouteParameter.Optional}) Controller: Public Function PostValue(ByVal departmentid As Integer, ByVal emailaddress As String, ByVal firstname As String, ByVal lastname As String) As Guid Dim context As New WSMModelDataContext Dim bllPeople As New PeopleBLL(context) Return bllPeople.Create(firstname, lastname, emailaddress, departmentid) End Function When I debug it, it doesn't get as far as running the controller, although when calling it through RESTEasy it routes correctly and the controller executes successfully. The only difference seemes to be that wen called through RESTEasy it is (correctly) using http://127.0.0.1:81 but for some reason when called via JQuery/ajax it seems to be using http://127.0.0.1:82.

• FLEX: the custom component is still a Null Object when I invoke its method

  Hi, I've created a custom component in Flex, and I've created it from the main application with actionscript. Successively I invoke its "setName" method to pass a String. I get the following run-time error (occurring only if I use the setName method): TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. I guess I get it because I'm calling to newUser.setName method from main application before the component is completely created. How can I ask actionscript to "wait" until when the component is created to call the method ? Should I create an event listener in the main application waiting for it ? I would prefer to avoid it if possible. • C# 4.0: casting dynamic to static

  This is an offshoot question that's related to another I asked here. I'm splitting it off because it's really a sub-question: I'm having difficulties casting an object of type dynamic to another (known) static type. I have an ironPython script that is doing this: import clr clr.AddReference("System") from System import * def GetBclUri(): return Uri("http://google.com") note that it's simply newing up a BCL System.Uri type and returning it. So I know the static type of the returned object. now over in C# land, I'm newing up the script hosting stuff and calling this getter to return the Uri object: dynamic uri = scriptEngine.GetBclUri(); System.Uri u = uri as System.Uri; // casts the dynamic to static fine Works no problem. I now can use the strongly typed Uri object as if it was originally instantiated statically. however.... Now I want to define my own C# class that will be newed up in dynamic-land just like I did with the Uri.   I would like to know how I can count the number of unique values in a jagged array. My domain object contains a string property that has space delimitered values. class MyObject { string MyProperty; //e.g = "v1 v2 v3" } Given a list of MyObject's how can I determine the number of unique values? The following linq code returns an array of jagged array values. A solution would be to store a temporary single array of items, looped through each jagged array and if values do not exist, to add them. Then a simple count would return the unique number of values. However, was wondering if there was a nicer solution. db.MyObjects.Where(t => !String.IsNullOrEmpty(t.MyProperty)) .Select(t => t.Categories.Split(new char[] { ' ' }, StringSplitOptions.RemoveEmptyEntries)) .ToArray() Below is a more readable example: array[0] = { "v1", "v2", "v3" } array[1] = { "v1" } array[2] = { "v4", "v2" } array[3] = { "v1", "v5" } From all values the unique items are v1, v2, v3, v4, v5. The total number of unique items is 5. Is there a solution, possibly using linq, that returns either only the unique values or returns the number of unique values?

  I made a little WPF application with a SQL CE database. I built the following code with LINQ to get data out of the database, which was surprisingly easy. So I thought "this must be LINQ-to-SQL". Then I did "add item" and added a "LINQ-to-SQL classes" .dbml file, dragged my table onto the Object Relational Designer but it said, "The selected object uses an unsupported data provider." So then I questioned whether or not the following code actually is LINQ-to-SQL, since it indeed allows me to access data from my SQL CE database file, yet officially "LINQ-to-SQL" seems to be unsupported for SQL CE. • How to html encode the output of an MVC view?

  I am building a web app which will generate lots of different code templates (HTML tables, XML documents, SQL scripts) that I want to render on screen as encoded HTML so that people can copy and paste those templates. I would like to be able to use asp.net mvc views to generate the code for these templates (rather than, say, using a StringBuilder). Is there a way using asp.net mvc to store the results of a rendered view into a string? • SQL UNION ALL problem after using UNION ALL more than 10 times

  I'm getting a formatting problem if I use more than 10 UNION ALL statements in my VBA Code. If I use 10 or less everything works great. What I'm trying to do is combine 12 worksheets (Excel 2007). I have a numerical column called SC that turns into string and date if I have more than 10 UNION ALL. If I try to use ROUND with more than 10 UNION ALL my last selection will change all the records by one unit. I'm using Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 as my provider and my connection string has worked for several things in my code so far. Is there any limit for UNION ALL statements when using OLEDB? Here is my code. • C# DllImport with c++ const char* not working correctly

  I have the following function in a C++ DLL extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) bool Exist(const char* name) { //if (g_Queues.find(name) != g_Queues.end()) // return true; //else // return false; return false; } Inside my C# class I have the following: [DllImport("Whisper.dll", EntryPoint="Exist", CallingConvention=CallingConvention.Cdecl)] public static extern bool Exist(string name); Yet, whenever I call my function it ALWAYS returns true, even when I commented out my little function and made it return false. I have the feeling there is something wrong with my calling convention or any other issue with P/Invoking my DLL, probably corresponding with the string and const char*, but for now I am completely clueless. What am I doing wrong? Why does it return true instead of false? EDIT: I have figured out this has nothing to do with the const char* or string, because the problem persists with an empty function. I've tried changing the calling convention between Cdecl and StdCall and neither work correctly. I've also managed to debug my DLL and it's being called correctly and does indeed return false, but once back into C# it somehow is true. Changing the CharSet also had no effect. I've made sure I've supplied my C# program with the latest and correct version of my DLL each time, so that shouldn't be an issue aswell. Again, I am completely clueless on why the result is true when I'm in fact returning false. EDIT2: SOReader provided me with a suggestion which fixes another important issue, see my comment. Sadly, it does not fix the return issue.

  Hello everyone, I am working on mobile/server security related project. I am now stuck in generating a Diffie-Hellman key agreement part. It works fine in server side program but it is not working in mobile side. Thus, I assume that it is not compactible with Android. I used the following class to get the parameters. It returns a comma-separated string of 3 values. The first number is the prime modulus P. The second number is the base generator G. The third number is bit size of the random exponent L. My question is is there anything wrong with the code or it is not compactible for android?What kind of changes should I do? Your suggestion and guidance would be very much help for me. Then, that second instance of runner.exe should run notepad.exe - which doesn't happen. If I print the argc argument, it's 14 for the second instance of runner.exe, and they are all weird stuff like Files\Microsoft, SQL, Files\Common and so on. I can't figure out why this happens. I want to be able to string as many runner.exe calls using command line arguments as possible, or at least 2. How can I do that? I am using Windows 7 if that makes a difference.

Okay so I got this : partial void OnCreated() { this.Id = Guid.NewGuid(); this.DateCreated = this.DateModified = DateTime.Now; this.Username = username; this.Password = password; this.Email = email; this.Birthday = birthday; this.Gender = gender; } However, this gives me two errors: Partial Methods must be declared private. Partial Methods must have empty method bodies. Alright I change it to Private Sub OnCreated() to remove both of those errors. However I am still stuck with...how can I pass it values as I would with a normal custom constructor? Also I am doing this in VB (converted it since I know most know/prefer C#), so would that have an affect on this?

  Hi I am very new to Objective-C and was reading through memory management. I was trying to play around a bit with the NSAutoreleasePool but somehow it wont release my object. I have a class with a setter and getter which basically sets a NSString *name.   I'm trying to output each line in a csv file, and it seems like the delimiter is being ignored... I'm sure my syntax is wrong somewhere, but can't seem to pinpoint it... • Avoiding anemic domain model - a real example

  I am trying to understand Anemic Domain Models and why they are supposedly an anti-pattern. Here is a real world example. I have an Employee class, which has a ton of properties - name, gender, username, etc public class Employee { public string Name { get; set; } public string Gender { get; set; } public string Username { get; set; } // Etc.. mostly getters and setters } Next we have a system that involves rotating incoming phone calls and website enquiries (known as 'leads') evenly amongst sales staff. This system is quite complex as it involves round-robining enquiries, checking for holidays, employee preferences etc. So this system is currently seperated out into a service: EmployeeLeadRotationService. public class EmployeeLeadRotationService : IEmployeeLeadRotationService { private IEmployeeRepository _employeeRepository; // ...plus lots of other injected repositories and services public void SelectEmployee(ILead lead) { // Etc. lots of complex logic } } Then on the backside of our website enquiry form we have code like this: public void SubmitForm() { var lead = CreateLeadFromFormInput(); var selectedEmployee = Kernel.Get<IEmployeeLeadRotationService>() .SelectEmployee(lead); Response.Write(employee.Name + " will handle your enquiry. Thanks."); } I don't really encounter many problems with this approach, but supposedly this is something that I should run screaming from because it is an Anemic Domain Model. But for me its not clear where the logic in the lead rotation service should go. Should it go in the lead? Should it go in the employee? What about all the injected repositories etc that the rotation service requires - how would they be injected into the employee, given that most of the time when dealing with an employee we don't need any of these repositories?

• Ruby script/console and Ruby script/server using two different DBs?

  Has anyone seen where script/console and script/server load two different databases (though both report using the same)? Here's the first output $ script/server => Booting WEBrick => Rails 2.3.5 application starting on http://0.0.0.0:3000 => Call with -d to detach => Ctrl-C to shutdown server [2010-03-21 15:54:05] INFO WEBrick 1.3.1 [2010-03-21 15:54:05] INFO ruby 1.8.7 (2010-01-10) [i386-mingw32] [2010-03-21 15:54:05] INFO WEBrick::HTTPServer#start: pid=7148 port=3000 No errors. I then run my standard code for entering a form - no problems. Checking the Dev Database (.yml at bottom): mysql> select * from books; [...] | 712 | Book | Book Name | 2010-03-21 22:29:22 | 2010-03-21 22:29:22 | [...] 712 rows in set (0.00 sec) The code CLEARLY saved it seconds ago And now here's the output of script/console: $ script/console Loading development environment (Rails 2.3.5) >> Books.all => [] Nothing. Further, upon further inspection, it's using the production database, but I can't figure out why. Any thoughts here? All consoles have been closed and reopened. • Manipulating collections & the ViewModel pattern

  I'm relatively new to WPF, and I'm having trouble with what I'm fairly certain is a relatively simple problem. I have my underlying data object, a Person: class Person { public string Surname {get; set; } public string Firstname {get; set; } public List<Address> Addresses {get; } } And I wish to display and edit this object in my WPF app. To this end I've created a ViewModel that I bind to in my xaml: class PersonViewModel { public string Fullname {get; } public ObservableCollection<AddressViewModel> Addresses {get; } } This is fine, except when it comes to manipulating my Address collection, where I can't work out what I should be doing: Should I add methods AddAddress, RemoveAddress etc... to my PersonViewModel class for manipulating my collection with instances of AddressViewModel Should I just add instances of AddressViewModel to my Addresses observable collection Both of the above seem a bit messy - is there a better way of dealing with collections?

• Help with error creating SharePoint list (probably due to privilege issues)

  I'm getting an error when trying to activate a webpart. It activates fine in one setup , but fails in a different one. Administrator in both. Seems like it fails because it's not able to create the list. The error is: Message: Value cannot be null.
