  We need to write code to search for, pair and connect to a bluetooth headset with Windows 7 Embedded. Once connected the headset will be used as a normal windows audio device. We fully control what software is installed on the system so conflicting stacks and similar concerns are not a problem. We would however like to minimize as far as possible installing extra software such as 3rd party stacks. Therefore my question is: can the built in windows 7 bluetooth stack and C++ API alone be used to create the functionality we need?

  I have a silverlight application in which I am using the windowless property to show text . Silverlight Plugin Size is 1000*2000, I Have a button (siverlight control) on the Top. I am showing some html text using DIV real time. Its working fine. My Silverlight Plugin & DIV both style property is= "position:absolute'. • Can you detect a 301 redirect with Microsoft.XMLHTTP object?

  I'm using VBScript and the Microsoft.XMLHTTP object to scrape some web data. I have a list of URLs to check, but unfortunately some of them 301 redirect to others on the list, so I wind up with redundant data. Is it at all possible to make the XMLHTTP object fail on 301 redirect? Or at least cache the original response header? Or otherwise just let me know what happened? (notes: I have no control over the server I'm requesting data from; when I get new data, I could check if it's redundant, but I'd like to avoid that if possible). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

• New wxpython controls not displaying until resize

  I have created a custom control (based on a panel) in wxPython that provides a list of custom controls on panel within it. The user needs to be able to add rows at will and have those rows displayed. I'm having trouble getting the new controls to actually appear after they are added. I know they are present, because they appear after a resize of the frame, or if I add them before Show() is called on the frame. I've convinced myself it's something basic, but I can't find the mistake. The add function looks like this: def addRow(self, id, reference, page, title, note): newRow = NoteListRow(self.listPanel, id, reference, page, title, note) self.listSizer.Add(newRow, flag=wx.EXPAND | wx.LEFT) self.rows.append(newRow) if len(self.rows) == 1: self.highliteRow(newRow) self.Refresh() self.Update() return newRow I assume I'm missing something about how refresh and update are supposed to behave, so even a good extended reference on those would likely be helpful.

• How to set default values to the properties of dynamically loaded types at runtime for XML serializa

  I need to serialize dynamically loaded types' classes using XMLSerializer. When using XML serializer non initialized values are not being serialized. I dont have control over the assemblies I am working with so can not use XML attributes for specifying default values on properties. So I think I need to set all properties and sub properties to their default values recursively and then serialize. ( Please let me know if there is any better way ) Followed this : Activator.CreateInstance(propType); but above line complains about not having a parameterless constructor for some types. Tried this : subObject = FormatterServices.GetUninitializedObject(propType); but this one gives an error "value was invalid" with no inner exception. Please let me know if you need any further information.

• In C, as free() knows an array size, why isn't there a function that gets the array size? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: If free() knows the length of my array, why can’t I ask for it in my own code? Searching around (including here at stackoverflow), I got that malloc() allocates an array and also creates a header to control the array info. In this header, there's also the array size. free() use such information to know how to deallocate that array. So, if the array size info is "there" (somewhere in the memory), why there isn't a function that returns an array size, looking for this at the array header? Or am I missing something?

• ASP.Net Treeview - Client side event handling (jQuery??)

  I have a Treeview (bog standard ASP.Net Treeview) that is bound to an Xml source which allows the user to navigate to various parts of our system. Nothing special.... However, I wanted to generate a breadcrumb for use in the main content area on the client side when the user clicks a node in the Treeview control. I know there are mechanisms available for breadcrumb generation (such as site maps) but for various reasons I need to do it when a node is clicked. So far hooking up a click event using the document ready function available as part of jQuery is easy. However, having spent sometime looking I can not see how I navigate back up the tree nodes to get to each parent nodes text value to build the breadcrumb. I have been playing with .parent(), .parents() and .closest() available via jQuery but don't seem to be getting anywhere. Has anyone done anything like this or can anyone provide a better method? • Is there a Delphi standard function for escaping HTML?

  I've got a report that's supposed to take a grid control and produce HTML output. One of the columns in the grid can display any of a number of values, or <Any>. When this gets output to HTML, of course, it ends up blank. I could probably write up some routine to use StringReplace to turn that into &lt;Any&gt; so it would display this particular case correctly, but I figure there's probably one in the RTL somewhere that's already been tested and does it right. Anyone know where I could find it?

• Reading a file used by another process

  I know this has been up for discussion but I can't find an answer to my specific problem. I am monitoring a text file that is being written to by a server program. Every time the file is changed the content will be outputted to a window in my program. The problem is of course, that I can't use the Streamreader on the file as it is being "used by another process". Also setting up a Filestream with ReadWrite won't do any good since I cannot control the process that is using the file. However... You CAN open the file in notepad, so somehow it must be possible to access it even though the server is using it. Is there a good way around this? Should I monitor the file, make a temp copy of it when it changes, read the temp copy and the delete the temp copy. I need to get hold of the text in the file whenever the server changes it.

  I am trying to create a database field merge into a document (rtf) using php i.e if I have a document that starts Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name], Date of order: [order_date] After retrieving the appropriate database record I can use a simple search and replace to insert the database field into the right place. So far so good. I would however like to have a little more control over the data before it is replaced. For example I may wish to Title Case it, or convert a delimited string into a list with carriage returns. I would therefore like to be able to add extra formatting commands to the field to be replaced. e.g. Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name, TC], Date of order: [order_date, Y/M/D] There may be more than one formatting command per field. Is there a way that I can now search for these strings? The format of the strings is not set in stone, so if I have to change the format then I can. Any suggestions appreciated.

  I have a table column where each row has one of three states, and the purpose of the row is to offer manipulation AND display of this property with three states. My current development view is to have three tightly packed radio buttons with labels at the head of the columns (and every 50 rows or so) and onClick they send an AJAX request and thar she blows. This is fugly. Is there a standard idiom for a control like this? I'm currently mocking up something similar to the iPhone on/off toggle, but with a "middle" state. Any input would be welcome.

  Hi All, In my Asp.Net project I wanna use Property Auto-wiring, e.g. for my ILogger. Basically I placed Property into my base classes. One for Page, one for UserControl.   Is it possible to combine the following properties, and if so, how? Store in our version control system some Visual Studio 2008 native C++ project files for the developers in our team that use this IDE. Allow some of those developers to tweak their projects (e.g. using debug version of third-party libraries instead of the usual ones). Make sure these modifications are done in files that are not versioned. In other words, I would like to allow developers to tweak some settings in their projects without risking that these changes are committed. An 'optional VSPROP' file approach seems doomed to fail, as VS2008 refuses to load projects that refer to non-existent VSPROP files... Any other suggestion? Is this possible with VS2010?

  If I have many input controls in a form (There are separate validators for each of these input controls - like required,length and so on ) , there is a command button which submits the form and calls an action method. The requirement is - though the input control values are , say , individually okay - the combination of these values should be okay to process them together after the form submission - Where do i place the code to validate them together? 1) Can i add a custom validator for the command button and validate the combination together? like validate(FacesContext arg0, UIComponent arg1, Object value) but even then I will not have values of the other input controls except for the command button's/component's value right ? 2) can i do the validation of the combination in the action method and add validation messages using FacesMessage ? or do you suggest any other approach? • Running a Java process in Windows even after the user is logged out

  I have a batch file that starts a Java process in a Windows 2003 server. As per the security policy, the users of that machine are logged off forcefully, if the user is inactive for a certain period of time. The problem is that when the user is logged out, the process also dies. I scheduled a new task (Control Panel - Scheduled Tasks) and selected the option of 'When my computer starts' and gave the user account details there. But it doesn't seem to have any effect, the user is still logged out and the process dies. Is a reboot necessary to make this change effective? And after the reboot, will I achieve what I'm expecting (keeping the process alive)? Alternatively, will running this process as a Windows Service solve the problem? If so, can you please let me know how I can make a Java program or a batch file to run as a Windows Service? I would prefer not to use any other third party tools or libraries. Thanks
