  Hello, I have to insert full path to every single image/css file of my website, because of url_rewriting and I'm looking for the most officiant way to do it. Of course I could do: <img src='<?php echo $full_path; ?>/images/theImg.jpg' alt='alternative text' /> But somewhere I saw people doing it like this, or something: <img src='{full_path}/images/theImg.jpg' /> Now do you know how the second example is possible, or is it just part of some framework and can't be used in normal document? • jQuery - Animation Causes Div Overlap IE7

  I have a hidden div (#contactArea) above another div. When I click the link, the #contactArea opens up. When I click it again, it closes back up. It all works nicely, except in IE7. The two divs are transparent, so they overlap. I have no idea why this happens, or why doesn't it happen on other browsers. It just about feels like IE7 is right on this one. • How can I access the bookmarks toolbar using only shortcuts in Firefox 3

  I am not interested in accessing the bookmarks menu or sidebar. The specific goal that I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to easily navigate (using only the keyboard) through the live bookmarks loaded from stack overflow by means of a feed reader and located on my bookmarks toolbar. Notes: I have found an add-on that supposedly does exactly what I need: Bookmark Keys, but unfortunately it doesn't work in firefox 3), and is not being currently maintained. I'm using WinXP at work and Ubuntu 8.04 at home. Edit: changed bookmark keys "not compatible" with firefox 3 to "not working" in firefox 3

• window.beforeunload called twice in Firefox - how to get around this?

  I'm creating a popup window that has a beforeunload handler installed. When the "Close" file menu item is used to close the popup, the beforeunload handler is called twice, resulting in two "Are you sure you want to close this window?" messages appearing. This is a bug with Firefox, and I've reported it here, but I still would like a way to prevent this from happening. Can you think of a sane way of detecting double beforeunload to prevent the double message problem? The problem is that Firefox doesn't tell me which button in the dialog the user elected to click - OK or cancel.

  I have a project that generates text (representing an interface and a class) based on metadata. I would like to take this generated code and insert it as a new class and interface directly into the currently opened solution under a specific project and directory. I will create the menu tool that will generate the class but what I don't know how to do is gain access to the following items from within my custom Visual Studio Extension: Iterate the current solution and find a project to dump the generated code into. Open a new file window within Visual Studio and inject the generated text that comes from my tool directly into that window. Create a new folder in a specific project within the current solution from within my custom extension. EDIT - To clarify I need to open a new file (e.g. Right Click on a Project - Add - New Class) and insert text into it from within my custom Visual Studio Extension. Thanks

• how to properly use jquery .stop() ?

  Hello! On this page: http://www.arvag.net/old/smsbox.de/ when you hover over "Informationen" and "Über uns" you get sub menu shown. When you move mouse away it hides. Normally i have problem with jquery making queue for every single hover i make, and then i just keeps on animating all those hovers. I tried to implement stop() but just cant get it to work properly. • Database of common translated phrases for localization?

  I'd like to localize my app into a few other languages, all of which I can barely order a drink in. Does anyone know of an online resource for translations of common software menu options, messages, etc. into other languages? Given the number of developers (both OSS and closed-source) that deal with localization, and the overlap of resource strings between, it seems like a pretty obvious fit for a wiki or open source package, but I can't seem to find anything like this. I could try to mine the Windows resource files or dig around in resource strings in robust OSS apps like Firefox, but I suspect I'm not the first person to think of this and surely there is a site that I'm just not finding yet. Update: since nothing exists like this that I could find, I started a feeble attempt at an open-source string library. • Why am I getting 404 in Django?

  After installing this python Django module: http://code.google.com/p/django-compress/wiki/Installation I am getting 404's in my media static files. This Django module is supposed to "compress" the javascript/css files. That's why I'm getting 404 I guess. The problem is, I don't want this anymore. And when I installed this program, I did "python setup.py install" How do I install it? I just want to revert it back to normal so I don't get any 404 errors.

• Flex 4 - Using .pfm/.pfb fonts

  Hi everyone, I just switched to Flash Builder 4 & Flex 4 SDK, and it seems it's no longer possible to use a .pfm/.pfb font, either by embedding it or using it as a system font. I keep getting error messages, and Google can't find anybody having the same issue. I tried several methods: - copy/pasting the [Embed] statement which was working using Flex 3 SDK - installing the font and then try to simply call it by its name in a CSS declaration without embedding it ; seems to work for every .ttf and .otf system fonts, but not for .pfm/.pfm ones - using a Flash-generated swf which embeds the font So far none of these seems to work. Has anybody got an idea on how to achieve this? I actually don't care using a system font without embedding it as long as it works. I'll be really grateful if somebody could help me on this, I'm totally stuck and cannot use another font instead.

• How to hide a Mono application on the OSX Dock

  I have a Mono application that should not show on the dock, but will occasionally show a window. I want neither menu bar nor dock icon to show for this application. I have my application wrapped in an app bundle, and my info.plist file has the LSUIElement set to "1". This does not seem to be hiding my application from the Dock. I have tried also calling osascript with the following info in a Process.Start: osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to set visible of process "myapp" to false' This returns a System Event error code: -10006. Thus far, I've had no luck finding out what that means. I've also tried all the standard Hide() and Visibility = false stuff inside Mono. Anyone found a workaround for this, or have an idea a direction I can look in? For the most part, working in Mono has been straightforward .Net coding, but this has me stumped.

  What's the best way for me to check if my website is compatible in IE7,8, Safari, FF, and Chrome without having to install each and everyone? I mainly want to check the CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. Update I put a bounty in hopes there is a more practical solution for someone like myself. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Update2 I don't mind installing these browsers now, but I can't even if I wanted to. Windows 7 doesn't allow me to install IE7.

• Is it feasible to write a Firefox plugin to make use of ActiveX control on Windows?

  I use an ActiveX control called TAPIEx enabling TAPI phone system integration using MS Access 2000 (+Visual Basic). I want to turn this Access database into a web app with the clients running Firefox (all on internal network). Since Firefox doesnt support ActiveX is it feasible for me to write a Firefox plugin that in turn utilizes the ActiveX control? With regard to how plugins work - Would I be able to call 'functions' of the plugin from page script (eg dial call specifying phone number, check if calls in process)? Would adding these functions to the Firefox right click menu 'globally' inside Firefox be easier? Hope you guys can help. Note I'm not a fulltime programmer; I just need to know how steep the learning curve will be or even if my idea is possible! If I specify Cache-Control "max-age=3600, must-revalidate" for a static html/js/images/css file, with Last Modified Header defined in HTTP header, a. Does browser/proxy cache(liek Squid/Akamai) go all the way to orgin server to validate before max-age expires? Or will it serve content from cache till max-age expires? b. After max-age expiry(that is expiry from cache), is there a IMS check or is content re-downloaded from origin server w/o IMS check?

• How do I debug a .NET executable at MSIL-level?

  I have a .NET executable file that I need to debug. I would like to step into it so that it stops on the first instruction and have a visual interface for single-stepping, breakpoints, etc. This seems like it should be easier but I haven't yet found a solution! I read about DbgCLR.exe on the web but I can't find that file on my system or online for the life of me. I also read somewhere that DbgCLR.exe is no longer necessary because Visual Studio can do the same thing. A Visual Studio .NET solution would be great, too! (Maybe there's a menu item that I overlooked?) Either will suit, so long as I can inspect the stack, set breakpoints, etc.

  Hi I'm trying to create a bookmarklet which will use the jquery-ui - what steps must I take to do this? My bookmarklet loads a remote script and appends it to the page. This script includes jquery and jquery-ui, but getting the stylesheets and images is turning into a nightmare. Do I have to edit all the CSS to point images to their locations on the remote server? Effectively what I'm trying to do is have a bookmarklet which will pop up some information in a nice pretty draggable jquery-ui dialog. Is there an easier way? Thanks, Mala

• WCF - WebReferences not working

  At the client end, I have generated a Proxy using SvcUtil.exe and it is working fine. Then I have added a WebReference to the client assembly and calling the same method. But it is not working. My program is running in console mode and the method is suppose to return a string. It is not returning the string. I just see a blank console window. No exception is thrown. And after setting a debug point on the method call I see that, program is halted on the method call for ever. What should I look for to solve the problem? I am using VS2005. And adding the webReference by right-clicking the client project and then clicking "Add Web Reference" pop-up menu.

  I am using Carbide (just upgraded to 2.0) to develop an S60 3rd Edition application. I would like to know the easiest way to change the icon (both the application icon on the device menu and the icon at the top left of the main view) because I have the need to skin my application in many different ways as easily as possible. • How can I click a button behind a transparent UIView?

  Let's say we have a view controller with one sub view. the subview takes up the center of the screen with 100 px margins on all sides. We then add a bunch of little stuff to click on inside that subview. We are only using the subview to take advantage of the new frame ( x=0, y=0 inside the subview is actually 100,100 in the parent view). Then, imagine that we have something behind the subview, like a menu. I want the user to be able to select any of the "little stuff" in the subview, but if there is nothing there, I want touches to pass through it (since the background is clear anyway) to the buttons behind it. How can I do this? It looks like touchesBegan goes through, but buttons don't work.
