• PHP cors validation

  I have an endpoint that takes GET requests to collect data from any source that wants to send data. Is there a way to run some validation that the data is in fact coming from the sources we allowed? They enter the website url that they will be sending the data from and we generate an api key. The data is sent via a javascript file that they install onto their website. I have the Access-Control-Allow-Origin set to * as it doesn't necessarily scale to add in hundreds or more websites to that header and that in itself is a security risk as it shows anyone who wants to look at the headers who uses the script. Currently I am thinking of using the http_origin / origin referrer, but obviously that doesn't do too much

  I can't seem to find any god reference on this. I have alot of data in SQL with dates. So I wanted to make a line chart to show this data over time. If I want to show it over a perioud of days then I need to group by days.. But the LOGDATE is the full date.. not the DAY.. So I have this below.. but LINQ doesnt know what 'DayOfYear' property is.. • Change the default output folder for a java command when executed by php

  I am trying to run a java command like this in a PHP Joomla Component. • (Secure) alternative to TLS / SSLv3 ?

  Toying with an idea for a F2F networked application I've just been reading up on secure communication. I quickly settled with the idea of using TLS / SSL as the basis for any communication since it employs Public Key encryption at the protocol level and thus is perfect for my needs. However I was surprised to read (on wikipedia) that the newest version of TLS, SSLv3 uses a mix of MD5 and SHA-1 "because if any vulnerability was found in one of these algorithms the other would prevent it from compromising SSLv3". However, as I take it, lately both have been found flawed ! So my questions are thus: Does this not mean that SSLv3 is basically flawed, or am I not reading close enough ? And if so does a "secure" alternative to SSLv3 exist ?

• Django admin panel doesn't work after modify default user model.

  I was trying to extend user profile. I founded a few solutions, but the most recommended was to create new user class containing foreign key to original django.contrib.auth.models.User class. • Django Find Out if User is Authenticated in Custom Tag

  I'm trying to create a custom tag. Inside this custom tag, I want to be able to have some logic that checks if the user is logged in, and then have the tag rendered accordingly. This is what I have: def user_actions(context): request = template.Variable('request').resolve(context) return { 'auth': request['user'].is_athenticated() } register.inclusion_tag('layout_elements/user_actions.html', takes_context=True)(user_actions) When I run this, I get this error: Caught VariableDoesNotExist while rendering: Failed lookup for key [request] in u'[{}]' The view that renders this ends like this: return render_to_response('start/home.html', {}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) Why doesn't the tag get a RequestContext object instead of the Context object? How can I get the tag to receive the RequestContext instead of the Context? EDIT: Whether or not it's possible to get a RequestContext inside a custom tag, I'd still be interested to know the "correct" or best way to determine a user's authentication state from within the custom tag. If that's not possible, then perhaps that kind of logic belongs elsewhere? Where?

I am currently using zlib but I am wondering if there is a better compression library; better in terms of performance and memory footprint. It should be able to handle multiple files in the same archive. I am looking for a C/C++ library. Performance is the key factor. The files that are being compressed are small to large XML files.

• 32/64 Bit Question

  Here's my question. What is the best way to determine what bit architecture your app is running on? What I am looking to do: On a 64 bit server I want my app to read 64 bit datasources (stored in reg key Software\Wow6432Node\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources) and if its 32 bit I want to read 32 bit datasources, (i.e. Read from Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources). I might be missing the point, but I don't want to care what mode my app is running in. I simply want to know if the OS is 32 or 64 bit. [System.Environment.OSVersion.Platform doesn't seem to be cutting it for me. Its returning Win32NT on my local xp machine and on a win2k8 64 bit server (even when all my projects are set to target 'any cpu')]

I thought I could do some self-joins to deal with this, but I am worried in the cases where the non-key fields have the same data in multiple rows.

  I know how to accomplish my task with .NET, but I wanted to do this just in SQL. I need to loop through all of the rows where the primary key is somewhat arbitrary. It can be a number or a series of letters, and probably any number of unusual things. I know I could do something like this... DECLARE @numRows INT SET @numRows = (SELECT COUNT(pkField) FROM myTable) DECLARE @I INT SET @I = 1 WHILE (@I <= @numRows) BEGIN --Do what I need to here SET @I = @I + 1 END ...if my rows were indexed in a contiguous fashion, but I don't know enough about SQL to do that if they're not. I keep coming across the use of "cursors," but I come across just as much reading about avoiding cursors. I found this SO solution but I'm not sure if that's what I'm needing? I appreciate any ideas.

  I spend WAY to much time fumbling around because vim doesn't handle closing braces like most IDEs do. Here's what I want to happen: type this: if( whatever ) { <CR> where <CR> mean hit the enter key and get this: if( whatever ) { | } where | is the position of the cursor. It's what Eclipse does. It's what Visual Studio does. And it's what I want Vim to do. I've seen a few plugins, tried a few, and none of them seem to give me this behavior. Surely I can't be the first programmer to want this.

  Suppose a simple phrase "In" in English needs to be interpreted as "" - empty string in Russian. Is is possible to specify that in the .po file? What normally happens if you set msgstr "" - you'll get the untranslated key, but I want to get nothing in that specific case. Here is a use case: I have underneath a search bar a set of buttons to select questions (for a Q&A site) from particular scopes - like so: (in English) In: [all] [unanswered] [my own] (in Russian I want) [???] [??? ???????] [???] It just sounds more natural.   Hello. I am looking to take a hash range (md5 or sha1) and split it into n equal ranges. For example, if n=5, the entire hash range would be split by 5 so that there would be a uniform distribution of key ranges. I would like n=1 to be from the beginning of the hash range to 1/5, 2 from 1/2 to 2/5, etc all the way to the end. I am new to hashing and a little bit unsure of where I could start on solving this for a project. Any help you could give would be great.

• Memcached in a trusted shared environment?

  We are a university IT organization that hosts all of the university's websites on several shared servers on our server room floor. We have several VMs, each running its own instance of Apache as a web server for each respective server. If we were going to setup a memcached server, is it feasible to use it as a shared instance? If shared by several servers, or even multiple web apps running on the same server, what's the best way to keep each app's cache stores separate? Prefix the key? Would each VM require its own instance of memcached, or could we setup 1 memcached server and allow our multiple VMs to read/write to it?
