• TABINDEX not working on HyperLinks

  <asp:HyperLink ID="SignIn" runat="server" CssClass="SignIn" TabIndex="3">Sign In</asp:HyperLink> the problem with the above is that TABINDEX does not work. • Enumerating all combinations of lists of different types

  Given two IEnumberables of different types, what is the best practice (considering readability and maintainability) for iterating over both lists to perform an action on all possible combinations? My initial solution was to use nested foreach loops, iterating over the first IEnumerable, and then within that loop, iterating over the second IEnumerable and passing the value from the outer and the current loop into the target method. Eg.: enum ParamOne { First, Second, Etc } List<int> paramTwo = new List<int>() { 1, 2, 3 }; void LoopExample() { foreach (ParamOne alpha in Enum.GetValues(typeof(ParamOne))) { foreach (int beta in paramTwo) { DoSomething(alpha, beta); } } } I tried to restructure it with LINQ, but ended up with something that had no obvious advantages and seemed less intuitive. A search here shows lots of questions about nesting foreachs to iterate over child properties, but I couldn't find anything about iterating over two distinct lists.

• adding a flash object to FancyBox using jquery swfobject

  Fellows, I dont seem to be getting a solution. I have a a video gallery which I create by dynamically from a database. I have managed to create a flash object which plays well without FancyBox, however I want a person to click on the gallery and then an swobject is created which will then be show on a fancybox. • Why shouldnt i use flash again?

  I heard many times i should avoid flash for my website. Yet no one has told me a good reason. I searched for reasons and i see many that are not true (such as text in flash are not indexable by search engines) or may not necessarily be true or significant enough (eating more bandwidth. Would a JS equivalent be bigger or smaller?). My site uses flash to playback sound (m4a). I dont have to worry about indexing, the back button not working, etc. But i have feeling there may be other reasons. What are reasons i shouldnt use flash on my website. I'll note one, the fact iphone/itouch and mobile devices does not support it. Not a big deal for most sites and is obvious. What are reason to avoid flash on my site?

• Redirects in RoR: Which one to use out of redirect_to and head :moved_permanently?

  Hello, we are making a website that takes a generated incoming link and forwards the user who is clicking on it to another website while saving a record of the action in our DB. I guess it's basically what ad-services like AdSense do. However, what is the best way to redirect the user? I think html-meta-tag-redirects are out of question. So what other options are there? head :moved_permanently, :location => "http://www.domain.com/" This one is a 301-redirect. The next one is a 302: redirect_to "http://www.domain.com" Are there any others? And which is best to use for our case? The links are highly-dynamic and change all the time. We want to make sure we don't violate any existing standards and of course we don't want search-engines to tag us as spammers (which we are not, btw). Thanks!

• set / line intersection solution

  I have two lists in python and I want to know if they intersect at the same index. Is there a mathematical way of solving this? For example if I have [9,8,7,6,5] and [3,4,5,6,7] I'd like a simple and efficient formula/algorithm that finds that at index 3 they intersect. I know I could do a search just wondering if there is a better way. I know there is a formula to solve two lines in y = mx + b form by subtracting them from each other but my "line" isn't truly a line because its limited to the items in the list and it may have curves. Any help is appreciated.

• Webpage layout order for my webapp - does it matter if the Sidebar is programmatically displayed bef

  OK that's the worst title I could ever possibly think up. But I'm not too sure how to phrase it! What I mean is, is it inefficient for the browser, search engine optimisation, or any other important factors, if programmatically my float:righted sidebar appears in the markup before the main content div, which is set to float:left? To the user, the main content appears on the left, and the sidebar on the right. In the source code it appears like so: <div id="sidebar">This is where my sidebar goes </div> <div id="content">This is where my content goes </div> Will this affect SEO or other factors in my page?

  Hi, I am exploring the option of querying a web-page, which has a CGI script running on its end, with a search string (say in the form of http://sw.mycompany.com/~tools/cgi-bin/script.cgi?param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3 ), and displaying the result on my app (after due processing of course). My app is written in MFC C++ , and I must confess that I have never attempted anything related to network programming before. Is what I'm trying to do very infeasible ? If not, could anyone point me at the resources I need to look at in order to go about this ? Thanks !

• nginx improperly forwards to https, adds two trailing slashes when rewriting

  I'm using nginx as a proxy for a django project on mod_wsgi and to serve the static content. I have two domain names for it: asdf-example.com and asdfexample.com. I want to use rewrites to redirect everything to www.asdf-example.com They're not quite working the way they should: asdf-example.com forwards to https:// www.asdf-example.com, which fails because I'm not using SSL. Though asdf-example.com/search forwards to http://.... asdfexample.com and www.asdfexample.com both forward to www.asdf-example.com//, which looks weird.   Hi, Would QuickGraph be able to help me out with my requirements below? (a) want to model a graph of nodes and directional relationships between nodes - for example to model web pages/files linked under a URL, or modeling IT infrastructure and dependencies between hardware/software. The library would include methods such as * Node.GetDirectParents() //i.e. there could be more than one direct parent for a node * Node.GetRootParents() //i.e. traverse the tree to the top root parent(s) for the given node * Node.GetDirectChildren() * Node.GetAllChildren() (b) have to persist the data to a database - so it should support SQL Server and ideally SQLite as well. If it does support these requirement then I'd love to hear: any pointers to any parts of QuickGraph to dig into? what is the best concept re it's usage in terms of how to use database persistence - is it a simpler design to assume every search/method works directly on the database, or does QuickGraph support smarts to be able to work in memory and the "save" to database all changes at an appropriate point in time (e.g. like ADO.net does with DataTable etc) Thanks in advance

  I need help checking for autofiltered rows not including the header. I want it to give a message box "No records found." then exit sub or continue with copy paste if there are rows beyond the header row. I know I need an If/Else entry after the filter to check for data but I'm having trouble figuring how to check. This code is being done from a UserForm I created.   I am trying to output a XML file using Python and lxml However, I notice one thing that if a tag has no text, it does not close itself. An example of this would be: root = etree.Element('document') rootTree = etree.ElementTree(root) firstChild = etree.SubElement(root, 'test') The output of this is: <document> <test/> </document I want the output to be: <document> <test> </test> </document> So basically I want to close a tag which has no text, but is used to the attribute value. How do I do that? And also, what is such a tag called? I would have Googled it, but I don't know how to search for it.

  I have 2 tables, that look like: CustomerInfo(CustomterID, CustomerName) CustomerReviews(ReviewID, CustomerID, Review, Score) I want to search reviews for a string and return CustomerInfo.CustomerID and CustomerInfo.CustomerName. However, I only want to show distinct CustomerID and CustomerName along with just one of their CustomerReviews.Reviews and CustomerReviews.Score. I also want to order by the CustomerReviews.Score. I can't figure out how to do this, since a customer can leave multiple reviews, but I only want a list of customers with their highest scored review. Any ideas?

• Remove a toolbar when pushing a new view

  In the iPhone maps app there's a toolbar at the bottom of the map view (it contains the Search/Directions segment control and others). When moving from the map view by clicking on a callout, the toolbar slides out with the map view, leaving the next view (a table controller) with no toolbar. I've tried to do the same thing with [self.navigationController setToolbarHidden:YES animated:YES] in the second view controller, but this gives a strange toolbar sliding down animation, while the map view is sliding to the left. Using [self.navigationController setToolbarHidden:YES] in viewDidLoad:animated also causes a bad effect (it makes the toolbar disappear the moment the push animation starts, leaving an ugly white space). I'm assuming the answer to this is to use a nib file, but I'd prefer to do it programatically (if possible). How can I get the toolbar to "stick" to the map view and slide out with it when I push a new view controller? Thanks.

  I'm pretty experienced with Perl and Ruby but new to Python so I'm hoping someone can show me the Pythonic way to accomplish the following task. I want to compare several lines against multiple regular expressions and retrieve the matching group. In Ruby it would be something like this: STDIN.each_line do |line| case line when /^A:(.*?)$/ then puts "FOO: #{$1}" when /^B:(.*?)$/ then puts "BAR: #{$1}" # when ... else puts "NO MATCH: #{line}" end end My attempts in Python are turning out pretty ugly because the matching group is returned from a call to match/search on a regular expression and Python has no assignment in conditionals or switch statements. What's the Pythonic way to do (or think!) about this problem?

  Does anyone have a macro that copy data from one sheet to another based on the current date? I am working with a single workbook of three sheets. Sheet one will hold the manual input of daily production figures for multiple plants, sheet two is to hold ongoing daily data, keyed on sheet one. The macro will be associated with a button, so that once clicked it would search for every row that has a date of today, and copy that row to the next available blank row on sheet two. Sample Data...   Hi. A problem came up in my latest android programming project. The problem is I would like to change Activity that launches when the phone receives a call. Is it possible to add some text after the contact name when a call is received. I have search the web for something that could do that, and been looking in the API for hours and I cannot find anything, is it possible with reflection of something like that? • What is the best way to make a schedule in MFC

  I have a list of items that are each associated with a start and end time and date. What I want to do is, given a time and date range, display only the items that fall within that window, even partially. What I'm doing is creating a CListCtrl with all the items in it and the CListCtrl is sorted by start time by default. But given a time range, I don't know how to search for the first item that is within the range. Another problem with the list control is it displays as a list, whereas it would be nice if there was a control that could also show things that are concurrent side by side. I'm doing this within a dialog application.

  I'm new to Scala and Lift, coming from a slightly odd background in PLT Scheme. I've done a quick search on this topic and found lots of questions but no answers. I'm probably looking in the wrong place. I've been working my way through tutorials on using Mapper to create database-backed objects, and I've hit a stumbling block: what types should be used to stored optional attribute values. For example, a simple ToDo object might comprise a title and an optional deadline (e.g. http://rememberthemilk.com). The former would be a MappedString, but the latter could not be a MappedDateTime since the type constraints on the field require, say, defaultValue to return a Date (rather than a Date or null/false/???). Is an underlying NULL handled by the MappedField subclasses? Or are there optional equivalents to things like MappedInt, MappedString, MappedDateTime that allow the value to be NULL in the database? Or am I approaching this in the wrong way?

• Which jsPerf-test should I consider as standard for checking the performance of javascript template-engines

  I am on a search for a javascript template engine that has good performance when used in large js applications and is also very suitable for mobile applications. So I have gone through the various jsPerf-tests for these. There seems to be a lot which show different results and it is confusing to find out which is the standard test. Can some one guide me a standard jsPerf that I can refer to and that should also include following templates dust, underscore, hogan, mustache, handlebars. From what I have observed dot.js is a constant performer with good rendering speed, but is it mature enough for larger applications ? What is this "with" and "no with" that is shown in the jspref tests? Can some one explain. In all the tests I have seen popular templates like mustache, handlebars, dust, hogan,etc seems to be behind performance than other templates, so why people are using them leaving out the top performers,is it because of maturity of these template engines? • I need data structure for effective handling with dates

  What I need is something like Hashtable which I will fill with prices that were actual at desired days. For example: I will put two prices: January 1st: 100USD, March 5th: 89USD. If I search my hashtable for price: hashtable.get(February 14th) I need it to give me back actual price which was entered at Jan. 1st because this is the last actual price. Normal hashtable implementation won't give me back anything, since there is nothing put on that dat. I need to see if there is such implementation which can find quickly object based on range of dates.

I want to know that in that field of particular searched document, where does that fragment starts and ends ?" for instance. consider i am searching "highlighted fragment" in above lines (consider the above para as single document). I am setting my fragmenter as : SimpleFragmenter fragmenter = new SimpleFragmenter(30); now the output of GetBestFragment is somewhat like : "returns a highlighted fragment from" Is it possible to get the starting and ending index of this fragment in the text above (say starting is 10 and ending is 45)
