  I write custom jabber client in iphone. I use xmppframework as engine. And I have UITableViewController with NSMutableArray for repesent contact list. When i receive(or somebody change it contents) roster (aka contact list) i wanna change UITableView items (add/remove/modify). So if User work with listView at time when list updates by [items addObject:newItem]; [self.tableView reloadData]; user lost current selection item. So, my question is howto save (if possible, i mean if given selected item not removed) current select item after reloadData? Thx.

  I want to change the color on the navigation bar and the documentation states not to attempt to change the 'alpha' value. So, how can I set a color that is not the SDK defined values (e.g., [UIColor redColor], brownColor, etc.) if all the constructors provide an alpha value? I tried getting the current alpha value but that did not help. When I use a custom color, it causes the navigation bar to look like an x-ray (a scraggy, black-on-white). But I am still suck on this one: My code is: StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(fDialog.FileName.ToString()); string content = reader.ReadToEnd(); reader.Close(); I am reading in a text file and I want to search for this text and change it (the X and Y value always follow each other in my text file): X17.8Y-1.   I need to have a makefile work under DOS (Windows) and Cygwin. I having problems with the makefile detecting the OS correctly and setting appropriate variables. The objective is to set variables for the following commands, then invoke the commands in rules using the variables: Delete file: rm in Cygwin, del in DOS. Remove directory: rmdir (different parameters in Cygwin and DOS) Copy file: cp in Cygwin, copy in DOS. Testing for file existance: test in Cygwin, IF EXIST in DOS. Listing contents of a file: cat in Cygwin, type in DOS. • Changing FileNames using RegEx and Recursion

  Hello I'm trying to rename files that my program lists as having "illegal characters" for a SharePoint file importation. The illegal characters I am referring to are: ~ # % & * {} / \ | : < ? - "" What i'm trying to do is recurse through the drive, gather up a list of filenames and then through Regular Expressions, pick out file names from a List and try to replace the invalid characters in the actual filenames themselves. Anybody have any idea how to do this?   Hello, I'm trying to get a View in Backbone.js to save when there's a 'change' event if (and only if) the data has changed.   Hello people, I'm getting crazy with a small problem here, I keep getting an error and I cant seem to figure out why, the code is supposed to change the range of a list, so if we give it a list with values (1 2 3 4) and we want to change the range in 11 to fourteen the result would be (11 12 13 14) the problem is that the last function called scale-list will give back an error saying: Debugger entered--Lisp error: (wrong-type-argument number-or-marker-p nil) anybody has a clue why?   A friend of mine asked me if it would be possible to port the Octave project to the iPhone. I haven't compiled an external package for an iPhone project before, so I downloaded the source code, and then used some scripts found on a couple of different Web sites (one, two) to try and build the libraries. However, when I try either of these scripts (which are nearly identical), they eventually die during the configure phase with the following error output: [...snip checks...] checking whether we are using the GNU Fortran 77 compiler... no checking whether accepts -g... no checking how to get verbose linking output from ... configure: WARNING: compilation failed checking for Fortran 77 libraries of ... rm: conftest.dSYM: is a directory checking for dummy main to link with Fortran 77 libraries... rm: conftest.dSYM: is a directory none checking for Fortran 77 name-mangling scheme... configure: error: cannot compile a simple Fortran program See `config.log' for more details. • Django Per-site caching using memcached

  Hi, So I'm using per-site caching on a project and I've observed the following, which is kind of confusing. When I load a flat page in my browser then change it through admin and then do a refresh (within the cache timeout) there is no change in the page--as expected. However when I stat a new session in a different browser and load the page (still within the timeout) the app is hit instead of the cache, with the Isn't the cache key generated from the URL? it seems that the session state is getting in there somewhere, which is causing a cache miss. • Base Href vs. .htaccess RewriteBase

  Normally I use <base href="http://domain.com/" /><!--[if ie]></base><![endif]--> I haven't tried much with RewriteBase, I normally get confused and keep changing it till it works. Which method would be best, I obviously find the best solution because the links stay the same so that no links are broken most of the time when attaching a css file, e.g. http://domain.com/css/main.css It just always stay the same when accessing to sub-directories. Although, when I don't use the tag, and I access to a sub directory, it breaks the css links when I use <link href="css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> As my PHP documents would include the header, <?php include("include/global_header.php"); ?> If I do that without the I would have to use: <link href="../css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> Which can break when accessing to a sub-directory. So... does the RewriteBase work the same as the ? Your thoughts.

• sys.stdout not reassigning to sys.__stdout__

  I'm pretty new to Python so I am still just learning the language. One of the things I came across was reassigning sys.stdout to change the default output of print. So I wrote this as a test: import sys sys.stdout = open('log.txt','a') print('hey') sys.stdout.close() sys.stdout = sys.__stdout__ print('hi') Now the string 'hi' is not written to the file but it does not show in the default output either. When I assign some other variable to sys.stdout in the beginning and change it back it works, but I'm just wondering why its not changing back the first time.

  Good day, I've got a simple CSS question. I'm trying to change a table into a CSS box, but aligning the table content is difficult to me right now. Below there's an example of what's inside of the css box i created. How can I align these three elements (calendar and icon to the left , a text link to the center, and the other date field to the right ?) correctly ? I've tried several things but the problem is getting it aligned properly. I want to change everything in this application that has been created with tables, to css. • iphone/ipad orientation handling

  This is more of a general question for people to provide me guidance on, basically Im learning iPad/iPhone development and have finally come across the multi-orientation support question. I have looked up a fair amount of doco, and my book "Beginning iPhone 3 Development" has a nice chapter on it. But my question is this, if I was to programatically change my controls (or even use different views for each orientation) how on earth to people maintain their code base? I can just imagine so many issues with spaghetti code/thousands of "if" checks all over the place, that it would drive me nuts to make one small change to the UI arrangement. Does anyone have experience handling this issue? What is a nice way to control it? Thanks a lot Mark

• How do I build BugTrap?

  I am trying to build the Itellesoft BugTrap source using Visual Studio 2008. I have downloaded and unziped the BugTrap source and the zlib source. I navigated down to ./BugTrap/Win32/BugTrap and opened BugTrap.sln (suggest by the author here). I used Build-Build Solution and the build failed with a compiler error: fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'zip.h': No such file or directory I opened the project properties and added the path to the zlib-vc/zlib/include folder to the list of "Additional Include Directories" and tried to build again. The second build attempt failed with a linker error: fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'zlibSD.lib' I opened the zlib project and built the source. The zlib build succeeded. However, the bin directory does not contain a zlibSD.lib. The closest file in name is zlibMSD.lib. This poster on CodeProject seemed to have the same problem I did. But there is no resolution posted. Hopefully someone out there has experience building this project and can point me in the right direction, I've played with the binary distribution and it seems really slick.

  The Overview I am working on a Continuous Integration build of a MFC appliction via CruiseControl.net and VS2010. When building my .sln, a "Visual Studio" CCNet task (devenv) works, but a wrapper MSBuild script run via the CCNet MSBuild task fails with errors like: error RC1015: cannot open include file 'winres.h'.. error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afxwin.h': No such file or directory error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afx.h': No such file or directory The Question How can I adjust the build environment of my msbuild wrapper so that the application builds correctly? (Pretty clearly the MFC paths aren't right for the msbuild environment, but how do i fix it for MSBuild+VS2010+MFC+CCNet?) Background Details We have successfully upgraded an MFC application (.exe with some MFC extension .dlls) to Visual Studio 2010 and can compile the application without issue on developer machines. Now I am working on compiling the application on the CI server environment I did a full installation of VS2010 (Professional) on the build server. In this way, I knew everything I needed would be on the machine (one way or another) and that this would be consistent with developer machines. VS2010 is correctly installed on the CI server, and the devenv task works as expected I now have a wrapper MSBuild script that does some extended version processing and then builds the .sln for the application via an MSBuild task. This wrapper script is run via CCNet's MSBuild task and fails with the above mentioned errors My Assumptions This seems to be a missing/wrong configuration of include paths to standard header resources of the MFC persuasion I should be able to coerce the MSBuild environment to consider the relevant resource files from my VS2010 install and have this approach work. But how do I do that? Am I setting Environment variables? Registry settings? I can see how one can inject additional directories in some cases, but this seems to need a more systemic configuration at the compiler defaults level.

• Common JNDI resources in Tomcat

  Hi, I’m running a couple of servlet applications in Tomcat (5.5). All of the servlets use a common factory resource that is shared out using JNDI. At the moment, I can get everything working by including the factory resource as a GlobalNamingResource in the /conf/server.xml file, and then having each servlet’s META-INF/context.xml file include a ResourceLink to the resource. Snippets from the XML files are included below. NOTE: I’m not that familiar with tomcat, so I’m not saying that this is a good configuration!!! However, I now want to be able install these servlets into multiple tomcat instances automatically using an RPM. The RPM will firstly copy the WARs to the webapps directory, and the jars for the factory into the common/lib directory (which is fine). But it will also need to make sure that the factory resource is included as a resource for all of the servlets. What is the best way add the resource globally? I’m not too keen on writing a script that goes into the server.xml file and adds in the resource that way. Is there any way for me to add in multiple server.xml files so that I can write a new server-app.xml file and it will concatenate my settings to server.xml? Or, better still to add this JNDI resource to all the servlets without using server.xml at all? p.s. Restarting the server will not be an issue, so I don’t mind if the changes don’t get picked up automatically. • Installing Gtk2 on portable strawberry

  I downloaded "strawberry-perl-5.12.2.0-portable" and "gtk+-bundle_2.22.1-20101227_win32". I extracted strawberry-perl in some directory and there I put gtk folder with gtk stuff. In portableshell.bat I changed Path env and added: "%drivep%\gtk\bin;%drivep%\gtk\lib;". Don't ask me why I added lib directory, I saw that some guy added it in some website. • insertRecord into QSqlTableModel fails, but item appears in QListView

  I got a pretty weird problem with a QSqlTableModel. The underlying SQL Database has a constraint Title UNIQUE. If I add a record which violates the constraint using insertRecord, the call fails (return value is false.) However, the view which uses the model displays the entry -- I have to manually remove it in order to get rid of it. How can I change this so the view does not get updated when an insertRecord fails? I would have assumed that the view gets only updated if there is really a change ...

• Force File Reload Before Build

  We have a tool that generates some code (.cs) files that are used to build the project. The tool is run during the pre-build step, but the files are updated in the solution only after the build, which means the build needs to be performed twice to clear the errors after a change to the input. Example: Modify Tool Input File Run Build Tool Runs and changes source file Build Fails Run Build Tool Runs and changes source file (but it doesn's actually change, because the input remains the same) Build Succeeds Any ideas how we can do away with the double build, and still let our tool be run from VS?
