• NullPointerException in generated JSP code calling setJspId()

  I am trying to deploy the Duke's Bank example form the J2EE 5 tutorial on JBoss 7.1.1. I have only used (unaltered) the source, and the standard XML configuration files for deployment, part of the exercise here is to see how I might structure a JSP based project of my own.   Hello everyone, I am 8 months experienced guy, (B.tech in computer science) In my college time i used to create simple programs in c/c++/java. Simple programs like creating linked list/binary trees programs. frankly saying those college bullshit exercise.(I am from India so Engg colleges in india sucks except few like IIT's etc). In my college time apart from my college exercises i created some better programs/games like arachnoid, snake. We had 6 months internship in our college curriculum. I worked on asp.net. Basically the work was to create a website with some random functionality. After that in my job i worked on php and successfully deployed 4 projects. All having lot of functionality and i was the only team member in all the projects. Now i am learning ruby on rails as i switched to a new firm. I also have to work on android or iphone depending upon on what mobile technology i want to choose or i can work on both of the technologies. My project manager says take your time to learn things. we are not in hurry to place you in any project. Work on things by your self. take 3 4 months to learn. But i am not getting good pace. I am quite confident with php/asp etc but i dont able to grasp things in android. Although my c/c++ background is quite good, having a good logical mind. But i am not able to grasp the things in android. Even learning some basics of rails i found it wtf. Why i have make model name singular and table name plural.By default that action name and name of the file in view is same I just hate the word MAGIC mentioned more than 100 times in the book. (agile-web-development-with-rails) (I am talking about default functionality, I can over ride them that i know, so please dont debate on that) I not saying i am not getting the things. My point is remembering the default functionality is a pissing me off. Lots of classes. Lots of files . specify this thing here. That thing there. All these things (remember which class does what) require some time or i am missing something. For my point of view i am having all these problems cause previously i never used object oriented programming approach in php. (I NEVER USED, I AM NOT SAYING THET ARE NOT) How you people explain it. How you people suggest me to do. I am looking suggestions from some seniors.From seniors in my office.They says you good dude. But i dont know i am not geting confidence in the things. When they ask me anythings about the topics i cover. I give them good answers. So when i discuss this problem with them they says there is no problem just keep on working. And sorry for my poor english.

• MVC Datatables Dialog Not staying where dialog opens

  I have created a view that displays a datatable with a clickable link that opens a jQuery UI dialog box. The users wanted a search options (8 dropdowns to narrow the search) at top of page, followed by the datatable with the 100 viewable records. If I scroll down the datatable to the bottom viewable record, click the link to open the dialog box. The dialog opens relative to the link clicked, but the focus go back to the top of the page which causes the user to have scroll back down to the dialog box. Ok, I thought I would just set the focus to the dialog box. BUt it is being ignored which make me think that this is something within the MVC realm. I even tried to wrap the focus inside a ready function thinking it would be one of the last things process. When I define the dailog, it is pretty basic. I even tried to set the position attribute, but it did not change the problem. Has someone had this problem and can send me in the right direction?   Sorry for the confusion I posted the Worng Logcat info. I updated the question. I want to click Start to start a thread then when enter is clicked i want the thad to continue and get the message and handle the message in the thread then output it to the main thread and update the text view. How would i start a thread to wait for enter to be pressed and get the bundle for the Handler? • jQuery - animating 'left' position of absolutely positioned div when sliding panel is revealed

  Hello, I have a hidden panel off the left side of the screen which slides into view on the click of a 'tab' positioned on the left side of the screen. I need the panel to slide over the top of the existing page content, and I need the tab to move with it. and so both are absolutely positioned in css. Everything works fine, apart from I need the tab (and thus the tab-container) to move left with the panel when it is revealed, so it appears to be stuck to the right-hand-side of the panel. Its relatively simple when using floats, but of course this affects the layout of the existing content, hence absolute positioning. I have tried animating the left position of the panel-container (see the documented jquery function), but I cant get it to work. The results are okay, but the layout of the View is messed up: The GridView doesn't fill the content of its parent, what do I have to do to design it properly? • window.open() in an iPad on load of a frame does not work

  I am trying to modify a site that uses "Morten's JavaScript Tree Menu" to display PDFs in a frames set using the Adobe Reader plug-in. On the iPad the frame is useless, so I want to open the PDF in a new tab. Not wanting to mess with the tree menu I thought I could use JavaScript in the web page being opened in the viewer frame to open a new tab with the PDF. I am using window.open() in $(document).ready(function() to open the pdf in the new tab. The problem is that window.open() does not want to work in the iPad. If I switch things around widow.open() works fine on a computer. In another project I am using window.open() successfully on the iPad from an onclick function. I tried using a timer function. I also tried adding an onclick function to the div and posting a click event. In both cases they worked on a computer but not an iPad. I am stumped. I know it would make more sense to handle the ipad in the tree menu frame, but that code is so complex I can't figure out where to put/modify the onclick event. Is there a way to change the object so that it opens in a new tab? Is anyone familiar enough with Mortens Tree Menu code that can tell me how to channge the on click event so that it opens the pdf in a new tab instead of opening a page in the frame? Thanks

• MVC multi page form losing session

  I have a multi-page form that's used to collect leads. There are multiple versions of the same form that we call campaigns. Some campaigns are 3 page forms, others are 2 pages, some are 1 page. They all share the same lead model and campaign controller, etc. There is 1 action for controlling the flow of the campaigns, and a separate action for submitting all the lead information into the database. I cannot reproduce this locally, and there are checks in place to ensure users can't skip pages. Session mode is InProc. But when these error occurs there is a different visitorID between the Campaign POST and the Submit POST. Because we track each form submission via the TrackLead() method during campaign and submit actions I can see session is being lost between calls, despite the OnActionExecuted firing after every POST and storing the form in session. So when there are errors, we get half the form under one visitorID and the remainder of the form under a different visitorID. Luckily we use a third party service which sends an API call every time a form value changes which uses it's own ID. These IDs are consistent between the first half of the form, and the remainder of the form, and the only way I can save the leads from the lost session issues. I should also note that this works fine 99% of the time. EDIT: I've modified my code to explicitly store my lead object in TempData and used the TempData.Keep() method to persist the object between subsequent requests. I've only deployed this behavior to 1 of my 3 sites but so far so good. I had also tried storing my lead objects in Session directly in the controller action i.e., Session.Add("lead", this._Lead); which uses HTTPSessionStateBase, attempting to circumvent the wrapper class, instead of HttpContext.Current.Session which uses HTTPSessionState. This modification made no difference on the issue, as expected.

• Application stops on back button in new activity

But, if I open the new activity and than press the "back button" the application "Unfortunately, has stopped". Is there something I'm doing wrong? • UIButton performance in UITableViewCell vs UIView

  I'd like to add a UIButton to a custom UITableViewCell (programmatically). This is easy to do, but I'm finding that the "performance" of the button in the cell is slow - that is, when I touch the button, there is quite a bit of delay until the button visually goes into the highlighted state. The same type of button on a regular UIView is very responsive in comparison. In order to isolate the problem, I've created two views - one is a simple UIView, the other is a UITableView with only one UITableViewCell. I've added buttons to both views (the UIView and the UITableViewCell), and the performance difference is quite striking. I've searched the web and read the Apple docs but haven't really found the cause of the problem. My guess is that it somehow has to do with the responder chain, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I must be doing something wrong, and I'd appreciate any help. Thanks. • Jquery / PhP / Joomla Select one of two comboboxes does not get updated

  I am making a Joomla component wich has 3 comboboxes/selects on the page. One with languages and 2 with subjects. If you change the language the other two get filled with the same data (the subjects in the selected language) the name of the selectbox are different but otherwise the same. I get an error for one of the subject boxes (hence the url gets red), but there is no logic in wich one will give an error. In Firebug i get the HTML back for the one without the other and this one gets updated but the other one gives nothing back. If i right click in firebug on the one that gave the error, and do "send again" it will load fine. Is their a timing problem? Everythings works correct, but i have some memory LEAKS in the process of c++ program... What just happened here??? Heartbeat on node04 stopped and told node03, which was the active node at the time. Somehow, node03 decided to start the cluster processes that were already running. (For the processes that are not critical, I always return a 0 from the startupscript so it does not stops the entire cluster when a non-essential part fails.) When starting ActiveMQ, it returns status 1 because it is already running. This fails the node and shuts everything down. As heartbeat is not running on the secondary node, it cannot failover to there. When I tried to run ha_takeover to restart the resources, absolutely nothing happened. Only after I restarted heartbeat on the primary node the resources could be started (after a delay of 2 minutes). These are my questions: Why does heartbeat on the primary node try to start the cluster processes again? Why did ha_takeover not work? What can I do to prevent this from happening? • Creating static NAT blocks outbound traffic Cisco ASA

  Hi Everyone, I have two web servers sitting behind a Cisco ASA 5505, which I don't have much experience with. I'm trying to create two static NATs. One static NAT that goes to xx.xx.xx.150 and another that goes to xx.xx.xx.151. I've created the static NAT for the .150 web server and it works FINE. Incoming and outgoing traffic work great. This is the staging web server. I now need to duplicate the setup for the production web server. So, I connect the webserver to the firewall, change the public IP address on one of the NICs reboot the server and I have outbound internet access. Then I run the command: static (inside,outside) xx.xx.xx.150 192.168.1.x which is successful. I then run the command: access-list acl-outside permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.150 eq 80 Which is successful. I then try to browse the internet and I get nothing. I try to telnet in through port 80 and I get nothing (though I'm guessing because the response to the telnet request is being blocked). I've tried this with the production web server and then I tried it with another web server that is for internal testing and have the exact same problem. Both work fine until I run the static NAT rule and then no outbound internet access. I have a feeling that it's something simple that I'm missing, but my limited experience with this device is killing me. Below I've pasted the current configuration. I'm currently trying to get this to work on the .153 server which is the internal testing server. • OpenSwan IPsec connection drops after 30 seconds

  I'm trying to connection from my Linux Mint 16 box to a CloudStack server. Building up the connection works (pings work across the tunnel). However 30 seconds later the IPsec tunnel gets terminated out of the blue. What could cause this consistent behaviour and how to fix it? The tunnel is setup using OpenSwan (U2.6.38/K(no kernel code presently loaded)) with the L2TP IPsec VPN manager from Werner Jaeger 1.0.9. The client is behind a NAT'ed router and the server is on public IP (CloudStack 4.2) Running ipsec verify complains about IPsec support in kernel.
