• ListView setOnItemClickListener and setOnItemSelectedListener to store the Selected Item Index

  Hi all, I have read on this site that it is necessary to customize the setOnItemSelectedListener and setOnItemClickListener of a ListView if we want to know the Index of the SelectedItem (.getSelectedItemPosition()). So that is what I do but it does not stores the position of the SekectedItem, instead i have always -1... What I want to do is just to give the user a way to delete items from a list by selected and Item and Clicking a button. • jQuery button click refresh of jqGrid only firing once

  I have the following jQuery code which I'm using to populate a jqGrid. It works perfectly posting to my ASP.NET MVC page on the first click of the button. My problem is, any other clicks past the first it seems to run through the jquery code when clicking the button but it never makes it to the POST page. • Using Unit of Work design pattern / NHibernate Sessions in an MVVM WPF

  I think I am stuck in the paralysis of analysis. Please help! I currently have a project that Uses NHibernate on SQLite Implements Repository and Unit of Work pattern: http://blogs.hibernatingrhinos.com/nhibernate/archive/2008/04/10/nhibernate-and-the-unit-of-work-pattern.aspx MVVM strategy in a WPF app Unit of Work implementation in my case supports one NHibernate session at a time. I thought at the time that this makes sense; it hides inner workings of NHibernate session from ViewModel. Now, according to Oren Eini (Ayende): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ee819139.aspx He convinces the audience that NHibernate sessions should be created / disposed when the view associated with the presenter / viewmodel is disposed. He presents issues why you don't want one session per windows app, nor do you want a session to be created / disposed per transaction. This unfortunately poses a problem because my UI can easily have 10+ view/viewmodels present in an app. He is presenting using a MVP strategy, but does his advice translate to MVVM? Does this mean that I should scrap the unit of work and have viewmodel create NHibernate sessions directly? Should a WPF app only have one working session at a time? If that is true, when should I create / dispose a NHibernate session? And I still haven't considered how NHibernate Stateless sessions fit into all this! My brain is going to explode. Please help!

  Hi, I have a custom table cell in an iPhone 3.x app to show basketball player data, including a picture. In the 3.0 simulator (and 3.0 device), the image is not shrunk down correctly, even though I set the image view content mode to "UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit". But the same code works fine in the 3.1.3 simulator / device. Who can help me with either of these two problems?

• SSRS sum(distinct()) equivalent

  I am currently working with an SSRS 2008 report that returns a dataset similar to the following: Job# ClientId MoneyIn MoneyOut ------------------------------ 1 ABC123 10 25 1 ABC123 10 25 1 ABC123 5 25 2 XYZ123 25 50 2 XYZ123 25 50 3 XYZ123 15 15 Where MoneyOut should be equal to the total amount of MoneyIn for a job if the job has been balanced out correctly. The problem that I am running into is when displaying this in a tablix in SSRS I can return the correct MoneyOut value for a job by setting the field to =first(Fields!MoneyOut.Value) but I also need to sum the value of these by day and attempting to do =sum(first(Fields!MoneyOut.Value)) yields an error about nesting aggregate functions. I've also attempted to sum the value of the textboxes using something like =sum(ReportItems!MoneyOut1.Value) which yields an error that you can only use aggregates on report items in the header or footer. So my question is, is there some way to duplicate the functionality of distinct() in SSRS reports or is there some way to just total up the values of text fields that I am unaware of? Binding just ItemsSource like so doesn't work: <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding ProjectList}" ItemTemplate="..." /> But if I first rebase the DataContext this works: <ListBox DataContext="{Binding ProjectList}" ItemsSource="{Binding}" ItemTemplate="..." /> Shouldn't the first method work properly? What am I doing wrong?

I have a FraudDto object that has a FraudCategory child object and I want to set this object from the values that are posted from the form. Posting a simple object is not a problem but I am struggling with how to handle complex objects with child objects. I have the following parent FraudDto object whcih I am binding to on the form: public class FraudDto { public FraudCategoryDto FraudCategory { get; set; } public List<FraudCategoryDto> FraudCategories { get; private set; } public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> FraudCategoryList { get { return FraudCategories.Select(t => new SelectListItem { Text = t.Name, Value = t.Id.ToString() }); } The child FraudCategoryDto object looks like this: public class FraudCategoryDto { public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } On the form, I have the following code where I want to bind the FraudCategoryDto to the dropdown. • Binding TabControl ItemsSource to an ObservableCollection of ViewModels causes content to refresh on

  I'm creating an WPF application using the MVVM framework, and I've adopted several features from Josh Smith's article on MVVM here... Most importantly, I'm binding a TabControl to an ObservableCollection of ViewModels. This means that am using a tabbed MDI interface that displays a UserControl as the content of a TabItem. The issue I'm seeing in my application is that when I have several tabs and I flip back and forth between tabs, the content is being refersh each time I change tabs. If you download Josh Smith's source code, you'll see that his app has the same problem. For example, click on the "View All Customers" button and scroll down to the bottom the ListView. Next click on the "Create New Customer" button. When you switch back to the All Customer view you'll notice that the ListView scrolls back to the top. If you switch back to the New Customer tab and place your cursor in one of the TextBoxes, then switch to All Customers tab and back, you'll notice that the cursor is now gone. I imagine that this is because I'm using an ObservableCollection, but I can't be sure. Is there any way to prevent the tab's content from refreshing when it receives the focus? EDIT: I found my problem when I ran the profiler on my application. I'm defining a DataTemplate for my ViewModels so it knows how to render the ViewModel when it is displayed in the tab... like so: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:CustomerViewModel}"> <vw:CustomerView/> </DataTemplate> So whenever I switch to a different tab, it has to re-create the ViewModel again. I fixed it temporarily by changing my ObservableCollection of ViewModels to an ObservableCollection of UserControls. However, I would really still like to use DataTemplates if possible. Is there a way to make a DataTemplate work?

• Populating Tcl Treeview with Sqlite Data

  Hello: I am building a Tcl application that reads off of a Sqlite Db. Currently, I can enter data into the database using the Tcl frontend. Now, I am trying to figure out how to display the data within the Sqlite Db from the Tcl frontend. After a little bit of research, I found that the treeview widget would work well for my needs. I now have the following code: set z1 [ttk::treeview .c1.t1 -columns {1 2} -show headings] $z1 heading #1 -text "First Name" $z1 heading #2 -text "Last Name" proc Srch {} {global z1 sqlite3 db test.db pack $z1 db close } When the "Srch" procedure is executed (button event), the treeview (z1) appears with the headings First Name and Last Name. Additionally, the Sqlite Db gets connected, then closes. I wanted to add code that would populate the treeview from the Sqlite Db between connecting to the Db and packing the treeview (z1). Does anyone know the correct syntax to populate a Tcl treeview with data from Sqlite? Thank you everyone in advance, DFM

• Asp.Net MVC2 RenderAction changes page mime type?

  It appears that calling Html.RenderAction in Asp.Net MVC2 apps can alter the mime type of the page if the child action's type is different than the parent action's. The code below (testing in MVC2 RTM), which seems sensible to me, will return a result of type application/json when calling Home/Index. Instead of dispylaying the page, the browser will barf and ask you if you want to download it. My question: Am I missing something? Is this a bug? • jqGrid Export to CSV Missing Column Names

  I have a jqGrid that works perfectly. It contains a pager button to export the grid to a csv file which works and exports the data. However, I also need to have the column names exported with the data and I can't seem to get that to work. • [C#/WPF] Combo box Item source = ObservableCollection & I need a '-None-' dummy entry at the top

  I have a combo box using an observable collection as a datasource and I want a "dummy" value of "None" as the first item in the box as it controls filters against other data sources. Other databound objects also use the same observable collection so adding a "None" value directly to the datasource is not possible as I dont want, for example, my datagrids having a "none" in them. Also I'd rather avoid filters to just remove the "none" value for those that do not use it, as I'd like the observable collection to direclty reflect the database data; if at all possible. I'd also like to avoid having one observable collection per databound control. What I'm really after is a was to put a, non data bound, first entry into a combobox while also having the item source pointed at an obervable collection. Thanks

• Proper way to add record to many to many relationship in Django

  First off, I'm planning on running my project on google app engine so I'm using djangoappengine which as far as I know doesn't support django's ManyToManyField type. Because of this I've setup my models like this: from django.db import models from django.contrib.auth.models import User class Group(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=200) class UserGroup(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User) group = models.ForeignKey(Group) On a page I have a form field where people can enter a group name. I want the results from this form field to create a UserGroup object for the user - group combination and if the group doesn't yet exist create a new Group object. At first I started putting this logic in the UserGroup class with a add_group method but quickly realized that it doesn't really make sense to put this in the UserGroup class. What would the proper way of doing this be? I saw some stuff about model managers. Is this what those are for?

  I'm looking into using jQuery autocomplete plug-in to implement user lookup by first or last name. It looks like by default autocomplete looks up words by character sequence no matter its occurrence in a word. So if you have data such as: javascript, asp, haskell and you type in 'as' you will get all three. I would like it to at least match beginning of the word. So in above example you get only 'asp'. Is there a way to configure jQuery Autocomplete plug-in to do this? Ultimately it would be even better to match by beginning of first or last name like it is in Gmail.

  I am working on Android and using docx4j to view the docx,pptx and xlsx files into my application. I am unable to view the ppt files . I am getting compile time error at SvgExporter class. which is not there in docx4j library. Can any one help me out to get the SvgExporter class library and build my application and get the Svghtml to load on webview for ppt files. my code is as follows. • WPF ListView SelectedItem is null

  Hi All I have a Listview that has a checkbox as one of the columns. If I click anywhere but the actual checkbox the SelectedItem of the ListView is set to the current selected row, as expected. If, on the other hand I click onto the checkbox (without clicking on the row first) then the SelectedItem is null or the previously clicked row. Can anyone help me out.... • MVVM Light Toolkit - RelayCommands, DelegateCommands, and ObservableObjects

  I just started experimenting with Laurent Bugnion's MVVM Light Toolkit. I think I'm going to really like it, but I have a couple questions. Before I get to them, I need to explain where I'm coming from. I currently use a combination of Josh Smith's MVVM Foundation and another project on Codeplex called MVVM Toolkit. I use ObservableObject and Messenger from MVVM Foundation and DelegateCommand and CommandReference from MVVM Toolkit. The only real overlap between MVVM Foundation and MVVM Tookit is that they both have an implementation for ICommand: MVVM Foundation has a RelayCommand and MVVM Tookit has a DelegateCommand. Of these two, DelegateCommand appears to be more sophisticated. It employs a CommandManagerHelper that uses weak references to avoid memory leaks. With that said, a couple questions: Why does MVVM Light Toolkit use RelayCommand rather than DelegateCommand? Is the use of weak references in an ICommand unnecessary or not recommended for some reason? Why is there no ObservableObject in MVVM Light? ObservableObject is basically just the part of ViewModelBase that implements INotifyPropertyChanged, but it's very convenient to have as a separate class because view-models are not the only objects that need to implement INotifyPropertyChanged. For example, let's say you have DataGrid that binds to a list of Person objects. If any of the properties in Person can change while the user is viewing the DataGrid, Person would need to implement INotifyPropertyChanged. (I realize that if Person is auto-generated using something like LinqToSql, it will probably already implement INotifyPropertyChanged, but there are cases where I need to make a view-specific version of entity model objects, say, because I need to include a command to support a button column in a DataGrid.) • Locking Cache Key without Locking the entire Cache

  I have servlets that caches user information rather then retrieving it from the user store on every request (shared Ehcache). The issue I have is that if a client is multi-threaded and they make more then one simultaneous request, before they have been authenticated, then I get this in my log: Retrieving User [Bob] Retrieving User [Bob] Retrieving User [Bob] Returned [Bob] ...caching Returned [Bob] ...caching Returned [Bob] ...caching What I would want is that the first request would call the user service, while the other two requests get blocked - and when the first request returns, and then caches the object, the other two requests go through: Retrieving User [Bob] blocking... blocking... Returned [Bob] ...caching [Bob] found in cache [Bob] found in cache I've thought about locking on the String "Bob" (because due to interning it's always the same object right?). Would that work? And if so how do I keep track of the keys that actually exist in the cache and build a locking mechanism around them that would then return the valid object once it's retrieved. Thanks.

• Debugging error "The Type 'xx' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced"

  The full error is as follows: The type 'System.Windows.Forms.Control' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. and it points at the very first statement (an Debug.Assert line) in the very first class in a library project that doesn't need System.Windows.Forms (or so I thought). I know how to solve it: add the mentioned reference. But how do I find out what library is causing this error, or better, what part of the code triggers using the WinForms library? Normally, you can add libraries that reference others, but you only need to add references to these others when they're actually used. EDIT: Alternative solution This or similar problems can also be resolved using the Binding Log Viewer Fuslogvw.exe from Microsoft's Framework Tools. It shows all attempts and successes of assemblies your application binds to.
