• [C#] Get a domain name basing on the IP address

  hi, I need to get a domain name if I have an IP address (e.g. I type 209.85.129.103 and the program should find out that is the Google address) As far as I've figured out is get the hostname: IPHostEntry IpToDomainName = Dns.GetHostEntry("209.85.129.103"); string HostName = IpToDomainName.HostName; //it returns "fk-in-f103.1e100.net" but it's not that I want. I don't know how to achieve that. Any ideas will be helpful

  What is the generic algorithm or process that is commonly used to dynamically render portions of a scrolling area? For example, in Google Maps, when the user scrolls past the bounds of the currently rendered area, a grey checkerboard pattern is displayed within the not-yet-rendered portions while the application loads and renders those areas. I'm looking specifically for the approach, or the mathematics, related to filling a graphics area in chunks based on what has just come into view. If possible, I'm looking for anything relevant to the GDI+ process of doing so.

  I want to use file_get_contents to implement a proxy so I can do ajax cross domain requests. Querystring will be used to supply the URL to file_get_contents. Now the problem is people can muck around with the qurystring in order to read local files on the server. I dont wnat this. Can someone get me a function to sinitize the querystring in order only to accept urls and not local files: ie: ?url=http://google.com.au - OK ?url=./passwords.txt - Not OK

  i'm looking for a js engine to that I can (easily) expose C/C++ functions, classes etc. The API should allow changing exposed values from within C++ (by storing some kind of pointer or reference to an object inside js or so...). I've considered using google's v8 but I'm new to it and don't know whether it will satisfy my requirements. Can someone tell me whether I should stick to v8 or try something else?

• Are duplicate directives in php.ini going to cause an issue?

  I sent a request to ops today to update some php.ini directives, and found out that he merely appended them to the end of the file. My google search didn't really come up with any info on whether this is a problem or not to have duplicates in there and how they would be parsed.   At one point while traveling the web, I came across a great page which contrasted the clarity and terseness of different methods of doing a sequence of operations without having to make a bunch of throwaway variables, e.g., Var1, Var2, Var3. It tried list comprehensions, folds, maps, etc. For some reason, now matter what I google, I can't find it again. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Or want to explore the topic anyway?
